Very unsatisfying ending. Get told to bring the orb to someone because they'd know more about it, and end up finding out basically nothing and no follow up quest.

This quest can be quite frustrating. I had to kill 238 mage-lords before it dropped.

Seems to me that while the ending is quite anit-climactic it pointed my level 44 warlock to the Uldaman quest "Shadowshard Fragments" (http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=7068) so maybe it's just there for blizzard to poke us in that instances direction.

i donno if its me or what, i have to actually take damage from the magelords to get it.
i killed about 50 of them until i get it. im a shammy, i use earth shock and grounding totem to dispel their fireballs. and this one time i actually did not use grounding totem, and take the damage from the magelord... and then it droped the orb..... wierd.

Nah I got it on my first kill and I'm an Orc Rogue.It can only be a matter of luck,it just has to be.Anyway,very disappointing ending to a short but annoying quest line.

It might have been a quest line that was planned to be developed for Dire Maul or intended to give a little intro to the story of that dungeon 10 levels or so before you actually enter it... but it must have been forgotten, or else scrapped in development. It does seem odd that it just ends like that.

What a lame ending, i had expected at least 1-3 quests more in the chain, but nothing! WHY! Why would you end something that could develop some story :c!

The troll in Org snatches that Gordunni orb from you like Gandalf grabbing up a palantir from Pippin, with about as much explanation.

I had another quest tell me it was obsolete in this zone and it was not. So I did this quest no problem first one dropped the item. Cashed the quest in at 51.91 48.05 NPC is Orhan Ogreblade - there is a follow up quest now called Talk to Swar'jan.... yet when checking wow head that is NOT marked obsolete.
