Just completed this with my new bloodelf hunter, soloed at level 47.

Killed by kiting Shadra to Thoradin's wall's gate in Arathi. Total time taken was just less than 15 minutes.

Solo'd as a level 55 warlock, plenty of chain fearing after clearing a section to the south of the pond. Don't fight in the pond as it evades.

Myx0 - the guy in the hidden comment above soloed this spider with his blood elf hunter level 47. The comment is hidden because people didn't believed that he can solo elite mob 8 level above him. The next post is the actual movie.

So instead of calling this guy liar better give him what he deserves - vote for his comment + and call him uber. :P

btw: what he did is nothing hard for hunters. just watch out for adds.

Soloable by warlock. I killed her while i was about 55. It's not that hard, but it's scary when this huge red spider goes to kill you. Just clear your mind and fear+dot. And be careful, it seems that "spider god" can brake fear early. So keep your finger above "fear" hotkey. And it sems that voidwalker is much preferrable than felguard cause of sacrifice if something goes wrong.

Once you summon Shadra once, you have to kill her. The parchment that you use to summon is gone, and you'll have to abandon the quest and go back to the guy in Durotar to get it again. I learned the hard way.

Warlocks can easily solo Shadra. Fear and CoEx both work. Just be sure to clear the area to give yourself room to fear or kite.

Soloed as a 60 feral druid using entangling roots and moonfire to kite her around. Tried the bear route, didn't work so well.

Seeing as how the quest description is quite vague, here's a bit of info on it.

Shadra is found inside the walled city of Shadra'Alor, in the south central area of the Hinterlands. The altar that is needed to summon Shadra is on the southeast side of the lake, so don't bother climbing any of the temples.

Once you summon her, the parchment is used up, and if you fail, you'll need to talk to Gadrin to get another shot at this quest.

However, if you summon Shadra and don't have anyone to help you, or are waiting on people to arrive, you can keep her from despawning by keeping her engaged in combat, just slow her run speed and swim to the north side of the lake until she de-aggros, then do it again after a minute or two.

As a well-geared lv.51 prot warrior with about 5100 armor (roughly 54% mitigation) Shadra hit me for between 160-400 damage with 300 or so being the average. She does quite a bit of damage, even when compared to other elites at and above her level.

We had a paladin (50) and hunter (54), but in order to win, we had to let the hunter's pet take aggro for the majority of the fight, (hunter was using Mend Pet constantly) and I taunted it off right before the pet died so we could finish Shadra.

Because it's difficult to solo, this will probably be one of the last quests you finish in the Hinterlands, and I highly recommend you do it; the cash, xp, and item rewards are worth the effort.

Just soloed this as a 56 BM hunter. Had to pop a trinket (devilsaur eye) , beastial wrath and use an ice trap. I also had to continually mend my pet. She would've been fairly easy, but she would randomly charge me... killed me 2 times before i downed her on the 3rd attempt. I would recommend not soloing this.... unless you are up for a challenge!

FYI, She will follow you into the water...she swims. Tried soloing as a 53 assassination rogue...yeah. Not good.

Tryed as a 54 prot pally in ST/BRD gear with a 49 arms warrior 'trying' to help... Got 'em down to 33% going all out (bubbled twice, 3 major rejuv pots, LoH)

Ran back, res'd and watched her pwn some allys in the area.

Soloed at L53 as a frost mage, although it took plenty of attempts. Tried at L52 but it just wasn't going to work with too many resists.

I basically kited Shadra around the pool near the altar. If you can get far enough away, Shadra will try and cut through the water to reach you and it seemed to slow her down, I kept firing a frost bolt periodically to keep the chill debuff up to slow her further. Used Frost Nova and CoC if she gets too close and pray for no resists as she hits like a truck on cloth and seems to have a long reach, the target on the ground befits a spider far bigger, something like Terokkarantula in Outlands.

Used a Mana Citrine as soon as it made sense to get the cooldown ticking and I was able to pop a Mana Jade near the end to give me the last drop of mana needed to finish her off.

Had Witherheart the Stalker join in on my first attempts, as he was stealthed I didn't spot him until it was too late.

soloed as a 58 prot pally. buffs i used were kings, devo and an int, agi, and protection scrolls. used 3 Heavy Runecloth bandages LoH Divine Shield first and BoP second. kept seal of light and judgement of light up until the last 25% or so and started to use seal of wisdom. divine shield + bandage first, then HoJ and bandage, then bop and bandage, then HoJ and bandage again, and finally LoH at around 10%.

Tough fight, felt good to solo it though. the kill gave a little over 600 xp unrested

Did this as a 46 priest together with a 51 druid. :)
Greater Mana Potions, lots of healing, kiting, sleeping. First time we died in about 1 minute, second time we were a bit more careful and killed her in ~15 mins.

Solo Kill as a lvl 53 poor-geared feral druid.
Few things to note:
she's stunable, she's rootable, she can be hybernated.
Other notable things would be:
At this level she crushes a lot, hybernate can be easily resisted and it breaks early.
Fight went: summon Shadra at the altar, she comes from the north side of the lake counterclockwise. Shifted to cat form and cleared two small spiders near the stairs of temples south-west and north-west of the lake (avoiding her aggro). Started the fight fully buffed with full mana/health in cat form stealthed. Opened with Pounce-mangle-rip, stepped back a few steps and shifted to dire bear form. Demo roar/FF and auto-attacked till 50 rage, then use Frenzied regeneration. When health dropped too low (and too low here is <1500) bashed her, cast hibernate and ran north to heal and regenerate. After hibernate broke shifted back to bear and started all over again. Took 7 shifts.
Tip: bring mana potions and cast root if hibernate breaks very (<10 secs) early.

I was able to solo Shadra on a level 54 Shadow Priest.

By using the temple on the south side of Shadra'Alor I was able to apply dots to Shadra while running up the stairs, then jumping down to the platform next to where the Atalai Exile is (however not the one he is standing on). Shadra will take a very weird path going all the way down the stairs and up the side of the hill next to the area. When Shadra gets about 5 seconds from reaching you jump down and run back up the stairs, she will follow by going back to the hill going around giving you plenty of time to get distance and you can repeat over and over. Took maybe 7-10 minutes or so, but I took 0 damage and it was cake. I didn't even need to fear once, she never got that close. The first time I tried it she did reset though, so I made sure to keep re-applying Vampiric Embrace, which was perfect due to its very low mana cost and being able to use it on the run.

I think its safe to say that any ranged class can solo Shadra using this method.

As of patch 3.0.2, the targeting circle at her feet is properly proportioned.

Lvl 50 hunter, full BM spec, and I was lucky enough to find a 70 rogue running through to kill her for me. I attempted to kite her using some of the methods described here, but I was unsuccessful. My serpent sting didn't create enough threat to keep her off my pet. So, she'd kill him and then reset. My pet's in the ferocity family and was using cower and no other special abilities... I probably should have tried with a tenacity pet for lower dps/ threat.

As a 52 demo lock I couldnt solo, can get him down to 2k~ less after using all healthstones, pots, bandage and keeping Demonic Emp. up at all times. If I tried a bit harder im positive I could of done it but meh Ill just go back at 53, 54.

I cant imagine any other class with average gear for the level being able to solo he has 18k health and hits hard youd have to have above-par gear to do that. Just ask someone around there to help theres a quest giver there anyway for ST and a mob there, cant remember the name, drops the mallet for ZF.

As 54 full BM hunter this was a simple tank and spank, nothing difficult about it. Just nuke boss while pet tanks (suggested to have pet specced to have good tank talents of course), feign death to not overaggro, continue nuking. I'd say this should be soloable like that at least as 52, possibly 51, earlier than that and pet might have trouble keeping aggro, otherwise wouldn't be a problem.

Just soloed it as a 55 ret paladin with little effort, I used lay on hands about half way through, it didn't require bubble. Shadra hit for 300-370 and crit for 600-770. I used Flash of light everytime Sheath of light procced, and dispelled poison when it came up.

Just solod as a level 51 BM hunter.

I tried to get my pet to tank it (Gorilla), but I had just leveled up, so he was level 50, and that wasn't happening. Shadra crit him for ~500 each hit, and he died.

HOWEVER! Shadra is actually pretty weak for one reason: any and all CC seems to work on her.

I was able to Concussive Shot, Frost Trap, AND Freezing Trap her as much as I liked.

Also she has no ranged abilities, so as long as you don't get extra aggro, you can Aspect of the Cheetah fairly easily.

I kited her out of Shadra'Alor first, then headed down the road, spamming Conq shot, occasionally Frost Trapping, and Disengaging.

Once I figured out she could be CCed with Freezing Trap (honestly, who expects an 18k HP elite to be able to be completely CCed? You could chain fear her ffs!) I got a pet res off and he beat on it with Taunt turned off while I continued to kite.

She died at the area where the path turns into Jintha'Alor, so there's no force reset, you could kite her to Undercity if you wanted!

I just solo'ed this with my 52 retlol pally at around 3k HP.

- I died 2 times trying to damage as much as possible while trying to stay alive with FoL and occasional HLs. Won't work.

- Then I tried kiting her around the lake, but she's pretty fast and sometimes uses shortcuts through the lake to reach you. Wiped another 2 times.

- I then tried kiting her atop and around the temple as described in this comment and it worked out pretty well. Clear the temple so you don't get any adds. Kite her atop the temple then take the way left and jump up the small hill, go down, rinse and repeat. Use Judgements on every CD (you can do it while kiting her), use those AoW procs to heal yourself when you crit. Use HoJ on every cooldown and max your HP. And most important: always cleanse yourself of her poisons. She does a nasty slowing poison and hits very hard (400 swings and evil crits) once she's in melee range. Used Divine Protection at 15% to finish her off.

i soloed with my frostmage level 53, easily monster!

first you need have shattered barrier talent and water elemental...

when she appear, sumoning your water elemental and use your frost nova + frostbolt and elemental atack, when your nova broken use elemental nova, when its broken she will attack you and broken your ice barrier in 2 attacks, and if you have shattered talent she will frozen too, teleport and use ice barrier again, when she broken frozen your frost nova probably back and restart this sequence again, its very easy!
i killed him and not lose any hp! ice barrier, nova and elemental its better!
i kill and not used ice barrier and cold snap.. try it and you win!

Possible with an arcane mage. I soloed it today by keeping Slow on her and kiting around the lake while casting fireball and praying for Missile Barrage procs. It procced quite a lot so it was a cake to down her. However once she got to me and critted me for 1k. I had health of 1400. So be cautious don't get near her. Just keep Slow on her and then nuke away.

Did her now as lvl 56 enha shaman. Stoneskin, fiery, windfury and healing stream totems (although I would use cleansing 2nd time, I had to depoison myself like 3 or 4 times), windfury on main hand, earthliving on off-hand and full dmg from the beginning (that means keeping flame shock on her all the time and spamming stormstrike and earth shock on cooldown). She was quite piece of cake, only 3 heals at all (and those were instant thanks to the Maelstrom weapon), no potions, 1 shamanistic rage, no risk of death at all.

Just Tamed on my 56 BM Hunter just summon and i used a stoneshield pot and a elixir(can't remember which one) put a freezing trap down about half way between us then tamed she got in trap and i was about half dead afterwards

Frost mages, fear not, for she will never ever touch you.

I had Ice Armor up in case she did get lucky, but I never got put in that situation with the below strategy.

As she spawns, she will appear at the foot of the lake on your left when you are at the altar. The following strategy assumes you are glyphed for a permanent Water Elemental, but should work even if you are not; the presence of a permanent pet will a) speed up the process and b) assert that the only snare you need for this strategy is your own frost nova. The first thing to do is pop Icy Veins once she's in range and frostbolt spam her until she gets close enough to frost nova. At that time, step back, frostbolt some more. When the nova breaks, she will slowly march towards you, but you should be able to backpedal enough that she will always be too slow to catch up. As it wears off, she will come faster, but not fast enough that you cannot react. Have Cone of Cold ready (if you have even one point in Permafrost you could in theory do this to her non-stop which would take forever but there you go).

CoC will slow her enough that backpedaling will actually allow you to out-kite her, so feel free to Cone of Cold and Fire Blast whenever they're off cooldown. Once frost nova is up, let her have it and back up enough to get a couple Frostbolts in. Rinse and repeat. If you misjudge the distance of frost nova, keep up the CoC kiting. If you happen to have your elemental up, this process is even faster. And of course, if you have Brain Freeze by this time you actually have a periodic instant nuke. But, I did not, so Fire Blast and CoC with the occasional Frost Nova and Frostbolts when you can afford them will do the trick nicely. At level 52 no less.

For us Shadow Priests, we can kill Shadra at lv 53, without get out of Shadowform , using SW:P, DP, VT, PW:S, MB ( , , Tocco Vampirico , , ) e MF ( ) if PW:S is active. Use PS () on CD and one Major Healing Potion if necessary Pozione Maggiore di Cura, but VE (Abbraccio Vampirico) with 2 points in Improving VE () will be your main healing , very easy of fact, in 1:18 min, she was dead =)

Just soloed it today on my lvl53retnub. Heres what I did:

Seal of wisdom,judgement of wisdom on the spider. attack,hammer of justice, around half hp spam holy light to heal yourself til your 100% hp. Repeat.

With seal of wisdom and judgement of wisdom up you should have a "neverending mana" to heal yourself.
