This actually isn't overly difficult to do in a short amount of time. If you are a Rogue or Druid you can stealth behind the Alpha use a ranged pull (such as Bow or Wrath) and the Alpha will pull only. In my experience it's best to have the mobs around the Alpha be green or close to it.

They are around 71,55... if you go there you will see a little tent looking thing on a mini hill. look to the left side and you should see two other tents on little hills. The alphas are in the middle of reavers/mystics mobs. i didnt have to kill all of them. i just killed around the alphas so when i walked close enough to the edge of the hill they would aggro. I then would run a little away from the mob ( so the reavers and mystics wouldnt get aggro.) and killed them.. pretty easy did it in like 25 minutes :) as a 42 undead priest

Run west than south of town these can be found in the middle of camps around 72, 56.

42 lock I sent my VW into a pack of 5 mobs 5 times. Just killed the alpas then sacced my void and ran. Works very well.

Sucks as a Paladin with no ranged. Able to kill real fast and run, but I waited for my bubble CD's to be up just in case.

Coords are correct, I went thru killed the guys around the camp and was able to pull each time just the single alpha. I found three camps 2 at those coords and one across the water to the west a bit. When I came back the 2 original had respawned. By the time I did and ran back took me 18 mins.

Completed in 16 minutes with level 46 hunter. Location 72,56 confirmed. 2700 XP.

Lvl 41 blood elf hunter BM spec. solo'd this in 16 minutes. single pulled every mob including the Alphas, three of which were lvl 44. Bestial Wrath, Rapid Fire and Intimidation made the lvl 44's a super quick fight.

I just stayed at the 3 camps at 72, 56. Single pulled one camp till I got the Alpha, moved to next camp. Same deal, but the time I got to 3rd camp, the 1st camp had respawned so I just went back a 2nd round. Easy quest for hunter.

Solo'd the quest as a lvl 40 Affliction Warlock. I had little to no problems completing this quest with about 30 minutes remaining on the clock. I ran to the back of the Woodpaw Camps near The Writhing Deep then I turned around and started pulling.

Here is what to look out for:

- The Woodpaw alphas and surrounded by Reavers and Mystics. However with a few pulls you can get them to come out of their camp by themselves with any added aggro.

- Do not use Fear as there are WAY to many mobs around which could risk a wipe. I made that mistake and pulled 3.

- The Mystics cast a healing spell on themselves at low health. This healing spell can restore half or almost all of their health which wastes time and effort on your part. Do what you can to silence or prevent this healing spell from being casted.

- Lastly even though there is time to complete this quest, don't rush it. You have more than enough time to take the effort and patience to pull without any problems.

Remember to turn the quest back in within the hour. Logging out will not stop the timer, resulting in a . If this happens, you will need to abandon the quest and take it again from the quest giver.

Avoid the Woodpaw Mongrels. They will cast a debuff called Contagion Rot on you. This decreases melee swing speed and lengthens casting time. No fun if you're clearing the camps with these alphas in them.

pretty easy 4 wlock, u can just sum ur void and send him on attack, then u should dot alpha and SB it then when alpha is dead u can simply sacrifice ur void and run away from other mobs...ive done the q in 20 minutes. good lock :P

I completed it easily in 13 mins as a 46 rogue, and yes, I had to wait for one respawn.

Rogues, by using sap and distract, it is easy to just kill the alpha and not worry about anyone else. If you do pull a second, blade flurry comes in real handy. And be careful, they run like mad at low health.

The coords given above did not help me. I found 4-5 alphas at 66.0, 53.3. This is a plateau above the rest of the camps, in the westernmost mountainside .

funny quest as a priest, since these mobs usaualy resign in group, soothe all the adds, MC the alpha, n walk him to u, n gank his face off :)

Name of this quest is a reference to Battletech/MechWarrior. An Alpha Strike is when you fire all your weapons, devastating the enemy.

Subtle reference, but it's there.

This quest sucked for me, all but one were stuck in one pile with about 6 other Gnolls, I had to wait for one to respawn 5 times.

This is Woodpaw Den, up the mountain, follow the flaming lightposts to the top, there is one in the cave and several more to be had on the plataeu, make sure you get at least one before going up there.

Incredibly easy for a shaman. Drop Stoneclaw, Magma, and Healing Stream. Kill off one at a time, re-drop totems as needed. Just run straight into the camp and do this, it works for up to 4 or 5 enemies, depending on your level.

Usually you can find Alphas with one Reaver and one Mystic. Personally I just pulled all three and killed the Alpha. I only took about 1000 damage before the Alpha dropped, and was then able to simply outrun the other two's aggro. Took me under ten minutes on the timer using the coords above.

Since this is a timed quest i will make this brief and clear:

Located at 71,54
Their usually found in camp, with a group of 3-4 mobs
Makes use of Eagle eye hunters!!!
Group up with other horde in the area so they don't steal the alpha's, there aren't too many of them!

The most important thing to this quest is TAKE YOUR TIME!, i'm actaully making this post while doing the quest. If it take you more then 1 hour to finish a quest then your doing something seriously, seriously, seriously wrong!

If you fail the quest abandon it and reaccept it.

Did it in 10 Minutes. Head to the woodpaw den area. The Alphas spawn in camps with a Mystic and one other, solo the Alpha and run...wash,rinse,repeat. They'res enough camps that you won't have to wait around for spawns.

If your a rogue I'd recommend sapping the casters (Mystics) as their lightning bolt does a ton of damage

its pretty straight forward, run from camp to camp, theres one Alpha at each camp, do-able in 5-10 minutes

If you guys still have a problem with the quest, try disabling your addons then enable them again, My character works after disabling and re-enabling. Good luck

Soloed as a 48 Boomkin, took about 15 minutes, just kept the adds rooted with a Insect Swarm to whittle them down while blasting away at the Alpha's, not to bad, but probably a little less XP then if done when the quest was Yellow as opposed to Green, still worth it though.

My tactic was to send pet on alpha and kill, then run and dismiss and fegin death rinse repeat.

soloed as a 43 shaman, i found that if you lightning bolt the alphas, more often than not, they'll come alone, and u wont have to fight any adds, i did this quest in under 10 minutes and didnt kill anything but the alphas, i found one in each of the camps.

Easily solo'able as a my 43 feral druid alt. Go to the area near the cave on the plateu where all the camps are; self-cast renew and rejuv and barrel into the individual camps in dire bear form. You should be able to absorb lots of damage before needing to heal, in which case a warstomp will give you enough breathing space to heal up. Just be careful because these mobs like to flee and It's easy to stir the whole camp up against you.

Soloed as a 42 Warrior, cleared it in about twenty minutes at 72, 56. There's three camps, each has an Alpha in them. I found that you can lure them in with a ranged weapon without pulling the other gnolls in the camp. Beware of lingering gnolls outside the camps though, clear those out first.

Seemed like a tough quest, but when I found out you can pull the alpha's without aggroing the rest, it was easy cruising.

Solo'd with my lvl 43 demo warlock. Not so bad if you keep your Voidwalker on a tight leash- first, pick off a few surrounding gnolls closest to the Alpha of the camp (but still on the outskirts). Then, cast your curse of choice to pull out the Alpha, but set your VW to passive or spam the Follow command so he doesn't auto attack. Once the Alpha is in safe range from the rest of the camp, let your VW at 'em. This way you don't have to worry about http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=17750's AOE.

If things get bad, don't be afraid to http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=19441 and run to a safe distance.

weird cause I just did it. They are way up on the cliff and properly marked.

Descrizione

The plan is for various leaders of the gnolls - Alphas as they call themselves - to be taken down within rapid succession. If we're able to execute this sort of swift and precise devastation against them, it would cause chaos in their ranks. Perhaps it would also drive a message through their thick flea-bitten heads that we can and will destroy them!

I want you to be the messenger of my will; eliminate five of their Alphas within one hour for this to work <name>, or we'll remain at this impasse!
