This quest is acquired by Bink, a mage trainer in Ironforge. Tabetha's cottage is located at 46,57 in Dustwallow Marsh. If you're semi-familiar with the area, the fastest way to get there is to swim like you're going to Onyxia's Lair.

I did not have to complete or get this quest in order to acquire "Tiara of the Deep" so I'm not so sure they are part of a series like it says.

Horde doesn't have this quest. We just go directly to Tabetha for Tiara of the Deep.

This quest is given by all mage trainers. It is not required to start Tiara of the Deep, it is only there to point players in the direction of the quest NPC, so that they can find and accept Tiara of the Deep.

This quest is available only to mages. However, the follow-up quest, "Tiara of the Deep," can be obtained by all classes directly from Tabetha.

I saw this quest from the mage trainer in Undercity. However, it isn't needed to pick up the quest Tiara of the Deep from Tabetha. I stumbled across her cottage in Dustwallow Marsh and she was ready to send me into ZF.

As a level 70 druid (who may or may not have completed the Tiara Quest), I can't turn this quest in. It says 'Speak to Tabetha in Duskwallow Marsh', but she just has standard text about wandering through the marsh, without a way to complete the quest, and no low level ! quest.

You can't take this quest if you already have "Tiara of the Deep" in your log.
I was standing in front of Anastasia Hartwell (Mage Trainer in Undercity), with the "Tiara of the Deep" quest in my log. She didn't have the ! above her head.
The moment I abandoned "Tiara of the Deep" the ! popped and I could take "Tabetha's Task" :)

Rumor is that Tabetha, a mage colleague who lives deep in Dustwallow Marsh, has a bone to pick with a certain sand troll in Zul'Farrak. If you speak with Tabetha she can tell you more.

And bring some friends with you, <name>. If Tabetha has you go to Zul'Farrak then you're not going to want to go alone.

You will find Tabetha's cottage west of Theramore, and just north of the Stonemaul Ruin.
