You've probably seen the Murloc cave in the mountains between Stonard and the orc camp on the coast. Swamp Talker is in that cave. Either level up to 55 or so before you attempt to solo, or bring friends. Lots of murlocs, and when they run, they bring back a small army of friends.

Did this solo at lvl.50 as a shadowpriest. I ran in Mind Soothing every mob. I got one add while fighting Swamptalker. A easy quest. In my eyes.

Cave begins at 66,75. Murlocs are level 43 - 45. Swamp talker is surrounded by 2-3 Murlocs. Swamp Talker is in the room in the back of the cave (62,89) and level 50.

It was a red quest for me at level 49 but it was really easy to solo. He had two adds but you could easily pull them apart from each others.

I was a lvl 50 warrior when I did this quest. I freaked out when it was in red for me still. but I took a chance and listened to all the guys before me. they are right. this is easier than killing your first ten boars. do this quest at an earlier level than it says. trust me.

This really was as easy as the folks before me have said. Level 48 Druid, took him out easy. The Murlocs that surround him can be pulled away and killed one by one aswell if need be (recommended)

A nice easy Quest for quite a large amount of Exp.

Agreed with all of the above, this was far easier than the red level indicated. I got Swamp Talker with only 1 add {level 43}. Swamp Talker spawns one-hit adds every few seconds. They have a cast time so he can probably be interrupted, but they died easily enough to a pulse of consecrate so I wouldn't worry too much about them.

Odd thing for me was Fingat, a rare, came up from god knows where in the cave to join the battle when Swamp Talker was about 50%. He ran past several other mobs to get to me without agroing them, so I'm not sure if he's part of the fight or not. Just be aware of him.

Solo'd as a lv 45 stunlock daggers rogue. What possessed me to do this at lv 45, I don't know, but it worked. I was able to clear the room entirely (distracting and sapping Swamp Talker each time, just to be safe), then finally got down to the big guy himself. He was about as hard as any elite at my level, so with a couple cooldowns and a superior healing potion, I was able to take him down. I timed my stuns to interrupt most of his spirit summons... though I may have not given so much care to do so if I had known at the time that the summons could be one-shotted. >_<

indeed very easy, lvl 52 MS warrior, took him down together with his 2 adds. Didnt even had to look for him since he was just around the corner when i entered cave. Only had to kill about 5 murcs inclu his adds to get to him. Pretty weird this quest is red, compaired to the easyness of the quest.

When you have the orders you should return to the fallen hero at the borders to blastedlands.

Found that out the hard way after I killed them and then my friend went and got the quest, we sat there waiting for 20 min for the respawn and he never came. Happened to check out the rest of the cave and found him lol.

Also, the murlocs in the mouth of the cave respawn very fast, so you might want to pull him outside.

This is a quest in a chain of 23 that runs pretty much all over the map.
However, it all starts with the Fallen Hero of the Horde.

The Swamp Talker is located in Swamp of Sorrows, southeast of Stonard along the mountains in a cave. He is level 50 and is easily solo'ed, I took him down with ease at level 51. The mobs to get to him are level 42-48. Again pretty easy to solo. Aug 16, 2008.

As a 45 druid, I was able to solo this in Bear Form using a combination of Demoralizing Roar, Faerie Fire, Swipe (when the add pops up), and War Stomp + Heal when needed. It took over a minute to finish the fight, however. I had a lot of stamina gear for this.

Keep an eye out for Fingat, a rare murloc spawn in this cave. He's quite a bit smaller than the other murlocs making him fairly obvious.

He do summon some adds that have about 2,4 k hp but the despawn if you hit em ones.
Did take him down as a hunter lvl 45 , did have aspect of the viper on and just heald my pet and when he summonde adds i did hit the adds one meele. easy one. =)

When I did this quest, the Swamp Talker was not patrolling at all. He was at the end of the cave, in a room with 4-5 other murlocs.

As a level 45 Enhancement Shaman with mostly leather green items, this guide should work for you:

When you get to the area just south of Swamp Talker, use Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning to carefully pull the two murlocs that are between you and the Swamp Talker. Make sure you have killed the patroller that comes through this area as well. You don't want him surprising you during the fight.

Preparation
Make sure you are at full health and mana, and then use Windfury Weapon, Water Shield, Strength of Earth Totem.

The fight
Use Chain Lightning to pull The Swamp Talker. (Orc: Use Blood Fury when you are within melee range.) Keep repeating the following until the fight is over:

Stormstrike
Earth Shock
Lava Lash
Water Shield (Important!)
(If the additional unit has been spawned, give it a melee hit to get rid of it now)
If below half health:
Draenei: Use Gift of the Naaru (if available) or Healing Wave
Troll: Use Berserking (if available) and then Healing Wave
Tauren: Use War Stomp (if available) and then Healing Wave
Orc: Use Healing Wave

The escape
Chances are most of the murlocs have respawned in the cave by now. Either fight them as you did on the way in, or run as far as you can, thrown down a Stoneclaw Totem, and try to make it out of the cave.

Very very easy to solo as an level 46 affiction warlock. With hairloom gear mixed with random blues, he hits for 73 while siphon life ticks for +111 on him. Very easy quest. No reason not to get scared away by the red level tag on the quest :)
