Almost due east from Captain Sander's Footlocker, for those of you without coordinate addons.

I found the Broken Barrel at 40, 47. Yes, it is pretty much due East of the Footlocker. You have to pass the Alexston Farmstead. The Broken Barrel is right next to the path, in front of an old chimney. I have submitted a screenshot.

It's actually available to Hordes, too... I found the map a bored day farming clam meat. I can do these as an undead so...

As said, the Broken Barrel can be found at the coordinates ~ 40;47.

As you can see on the screenshot, the barrel is very close to the road. I had a little trouble finding it at first, because I was looking around the chimney mentioned in the clue.

For Horde who happen to be in the area doing this quest line, there are 3 other quests in the area that can also be done by Horde, but which are indicated as Alliance only on Wowhead:

They are:

and can be found from Captain Grayson at the Westfall Lighthouse (30.1, 85.9).

These quests double up quite nicely with Captain Sander's questline.

Edit: The quests are now indicated as doable by both Horde and Alliance.

Interesting I got this quest today and can't find it since there are no coords... Oh well I guess I'll go give it a shot and will post again if I find the items in this quest.

"This quest was marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed.", no idea why this is written. I have completed the quest just fine, the requiered item was a broken barrel near the middle of westfall. Afterwards, I got Il tesoro nascosto del Capitano Sanders which was also perfectly doable.

Edit: Ah, I see. This quest isn't the actual one, this is the obsolete one and they implemented about the same one again, under a new ID. That explains why it's marked as obsolete.

The clue to the treasure reads: Good work, matey! Now ye need to head due east. East up the bluffs, east to the road. Look for the ol' chimney ruins near the side of the road. There you'll find an old barrel with your next clue.
