There is a version of this same quest from Ounhulo in the other Alliance starting zone, Valgarde in Howling Fjord.

At level 80 this quest awards 6g63 (not 3g75 as stated in Wowhead) and 75 reputation with Valiance Expedition.

The proc rate of getting perfect gem cuts is estimated to be 20%. It only works on Uncommon quality Northrend gems.

Just did this with a level 65 and only got 5500 xp.

This affects Cataclysm uncommon gems as well. I just cut a 45 stamina gem into a perfect version that gave 53 stamina.
