The crater north of the quest giver is also very good for Basilisks and Crystalhides, with good spawnrates and a high concentration of the mobs you need.
I don't know the spawnrate on the ones to the south, but it may seem that the Crystalhides spawn more often there.

73,59 is a good place for basilisks but tell me if i'm wrong, but the respawns are ULTRA slow.

Solo'd this quest at level 30, leveling to 31 doing the other quests in the area. Not much of a problem if you pull one mob at a time, but the Gazer's were difficult at my level. Died twice due to adds, but not too hard overall.

solod this quest at 30 (Rogue) stuned them a few times but all together this quest is easy as pie =) the gazers are the only ones that gave me a problem since they were 5 levles ahead of me =P

I easily soloed this as a Lv. 30 Rouge. Just pull one at a time, and there shouldn't be a problem killing them.

not a bad quest at all, easy as long as you pull 1 at a time...2 if you can handle it =P

coords 76, 87 for gazers and crystalhides
and 73, 59 for Basilisks are confirmed

yes this is an easy quest as a level 35 troll rogue. just go to the crater north of wer u picked it up the head south for the gazers

-on the map it looks enormous but its actually a kind of small area compared to other areas

Pretty easy to solo as a lvl 30 feral druid, only problem was 35 mobs. Didn't die once though. Basilisks can be found in the northern part of the Shimmering Flats while Crystalhides and Glacers can be found in the southern part!

The above coordinates are correct, but for those without them, a large group of gazers and crystalhides are located around the Tahonda Ruins south of the raceway camp (you can easily fulfill both of those quotas just from the saltstones in that area). The basilisks are concentrated to the north of the camp in Weazel's Crater.

For efficient leveling, I recommend circling the flats doing the following all at once:

A Bump In The Road
- The crystalhides are spread all across the Shimmering Flats, kill them as you go
- Be sure to get all 10 of the Basilisks from the pit at (88, 65).
- Be sure to get all 10 of the Basilisks from the lake at (78, 87)

Load Lightening (hit up 87,65 for a bunch)
Rocket Car Parts Only in the northern part of the zone, be sure to get all of them while you're there.
Salt Flat Venom Big group at (72, 73)
Hardened Shells Lots grouped at (82, 55)

Take a skinning friend with you with around the Shimmering Flats. Everything can be skinned (except the birds). My lvl 33 hunter friend had to turn in quests as we went to pack bullets and all the leather. The slow turtle shell drop rate is off set by the fast car part respawn and the many many basilisks. The bird bones were also tedious to collect. But it's a good way to spend a few hours of if your in the mood. The xp from collecting body parts and quest rewards moved my warlock most of the way from lvl 33-34. It was a little long by the end of it, but well worth the time. And a good excuse to visit Thousand Needles.

Descrizione

After the big crash with the goblins' Red Thunder racer and a basilisk, Kronkrider hired me on to take care of the track. I don't know what all the animals out on the flats are feeding on to grow so big, but we have to be careful to thin them out so they won't wander onto the track when a race is going on.

Tell you what. If you want to go out and make a little profit, go out and remove the basilisks from the area.
