In order to get up to the top of the waterwheel you need to go over to the far east side of the lake. You'll find a path there that leads up into the cliffs and to the top of the wheel.

Just to warn everyone... the respawn rate for everything leading up to the boss... who is easy to kill is EXTREMELY fast. I'm talking almost instantaneous. If you really want a SUPER annoying quest go ahead and try this one.

As a rogue, (level 23), I found it pretty hard. Sap Gerenzo, kill the other goblin, De-aggro Gerenzo and kill him after that.

you will have to take the path that leads up to him at 69,41 then head up towards to 64,39 and you will see him.

I followed the directions here until I got to the scaffolding. I killed the first 2 guys then jumped from that platform straight down to the one below it. I then charged down the ramp and attacked gerenzo. Once he was dead I jumped from his platform into the lake. (Don't forget to loot his arm) I'm a lvl 25 Warrior btw.

Soloed this as a 23 hunter with no problems, just pull from the corner of previous ramp to avoid the hight difficulties. this pulls him only so dont have to fight 2 mobs.

Don't kid yourselves; this is a killer for druids. The platform counts as "inside" so you can't use Root, and there's no hope of sneaking anywhere on narrow planks where you fall more often than not.

Gerenzo is accompanied by a Machinesmith, which means any attacks on him instantly result in THREE times the opposition. Three enemies at once = instant death. Bring a friend and you MAY have a prayer; otherwise, save it till level 30 or so.

done it as lvl 27 SPriest
followed all the info here, killed all the mobs on the way, but when i arrived at Gerenzo he is guarded by one engineer that summons a mechanical mob, and i found myself at half HP and tried to run downways, just under the big wheel, and then jumped. the funny part is that i died on some rock there, and when came as a ghost i could not revive from up (where Gerenzo stands) nor from the water, so i had to jump and revive myself from air! very funny part :D

the best way to take out Gerenzo as caster is to hit him directly very hard, disregarding the ads, then take the hand and run away. done that and escaped with like 70% of HP

Actually I just did this on my level 25 druid, it's easy as pie! Go into cat form and stealth all the way through to Gerenzo and just focus on killing him , loot him quickly then jump over the side and into the water!

I don't know, maybe you guys are doing a different quest than I am.

Cause as a druid, I just tried 5 times, died once when I actually fell off the damn platform (doh!), and abandoned 4 times.

The two times I got to him he had two with him and summoned a third. I abandoned one effort when I was too close to death as a bear.

Got discovered twice (both my faults). I think this might be soloable at 26, but I don't think i can take the damage to kill him fast enough, but maybe my talent mix is the wrong combo.

I've done this with two different characters and he's been in 3 different locations. This last one he was at the fourth platform, which meant I couldn't jump into the lake.

He runs when he gets low health, so either be prepared to chase, have something that does DoT, or kill the mobs. The last time he had two goblins and one mechanical thing, but I got him anyway. Used Vanish after he died from DoT.

Easily solo'd as a level 27 Druid. Went in as Cat Form, attacked him a lot, looted, jumped, swam away. Easy :D

I'd suggest focusing all your attacks on Gerenzo. His "guard" doesn't hit to bad and most people should be able to take him down without much trouble and make the jump.

Done solo as a 23 fire mage. Polymorph the add, then just blast him with fireballs until he goes down. Loot the hand and jump.

Soloed as a lvl 23 rogue with engineering

all you need to do is stealth up to where he is useing distract and sap whenever possible when do get to where you can pull him with your ranged weapon clear the mob/mobs around you then place a Goblin land mine and pull him the mine will take over half his health off.

...i felt like James bond on this quest because i killed him so fast and then i was attacked so i vanished and jumpped off the side and use my parachute cloak to glide safely down

Was killed twice with my shadow priest by him, since he was at the water wheel together with 2 other peeps who all helped eachother, but the third time I was making my way down to the water wheel and met him (together with another peep) on a platform. Easy kill there.

solo'd as a 24 Shaman. Got my butt kicked when i ran in "head first" the first time. Second time, I was able to pull Gerenzo without aggroing the add.

Just before you get to the platform level where he is, there's a mob , take him out. Now for the interesting part, maybe this happened only to me, but I noticed people talking about 2 mobs that accompanied Gerenzo and the smith summoned the mechanical. In fact, in the platform Gerenzo is, there is only ONE mob (the summoner), a vendor, and Gerenzo himself. The third mob is one that respawns VERY quickly right where the first mob (just before the Gerenzo platform is). so after you kill that first one, you might wanna wait for that other one to spawn for about 20 seconds.. I soloed this as 24 lock no problem, only special care I had to take was to keep Gerenzo under control (feared) while taking damage from DoTs.. maybe this will get rated down because it is confusing, I just wanted to help anyways. Good luck with the quest ;)

Edit: This only applies if you are to find him on the very last platform, as he has different spawn spots.

Gerenzo Wrenchwhistle hits pretty hard for a level 27, so be prepared for a tough fight if you're his level or below, and even above him! It's possible to pull Gerenzo and one add, it's not impossible, but you might want to kill him fast because the drop in health is bad. Rarely seen a mob this level do so much harm.

I managed to solo this as an untwinked 22 rogue. What i did was walk down the patforms killing the mob on each one. I went into stealth, sapped the mob that stands next to him, pulled Gerenzo with my throwing knife, used gouge, then backstab then spam clicked on Sinster strike untill i had 5 combo points, then i spammed clicked eviscerate, gouged him again, backstabbed him, he began to run away and i finished him of with some good old right click spam. A lot of spam and i died when i jumped of the side. Reason, it was the wrong side i jumped off >.< Good Luck!

Tried as a lvl24 Enhanced shaman, but died, i tryed first to kill add/die and then the respwans come i was going to stop, Failed as a lvl 24 Enhanced Shaman

Now i tried as my lvl 27 enhanced shaman, VERY easy :) killed with 2 mobs more.

Soloed this as a level 25 Druid. Cast regrowth and rejuvenation, then changed to bear form and just went for Gerenzo. Just managed to grab the arm before I died :)

Barely did it as a level 24 enhancement shaman, untwinked. The key is to clear to him quickly, kill the add, do no damage to Gerenzo (stoneclaw totem is great here), then run away to reset the fight before any mobs have respawned and the summoned robot will despawn.

Jst did it as a lvl 25 druid. Really easy! Just stealth in cat to the last platform. Take the one add just before the platform, attack and kill him, the add and the machine. They went down fast, I had about 100 life left. Loot, jump down and swim back :)

Killed by Shadow Priest lvl 24.
There is one mob near Gerenzo, they will attack you together + the mob casts mechanical machine, so there are three enemies.
Then jump in to the water and complete the quest.

Solo'd as a 22 feral druid, it was pretty easy to do. I entangled roots then switched off cat form and casted regrowth then went back into cat form and got healed while him dpsing me.

There was a armor vendor standing next to him on the platform. Vendor didn't attack and I got my armor repaired when I was done. :)

Tough. Requires nothing but pacience, though. Just killed him with a 19 Orc Hunter, poorly geared, Raptor pet.

Clear all the mobs on your way to him. That's rule number one. Remember they respawn PRETTY fast, so...

After that, focus on the Machinesmith. Tell your pet to attack him and do as much damage as you can while the pet lasts. You'll kill him easily. After bringing him down, run far away from Gerenzo and the summon, so they give up on chasing you.

The metal thing will vanish and Gerenzo will be all alone ;D

Hard battle anyways. Remember he runs!

Solo'ed, fairly easily, as a level 22 Feral druid. Just stealthed my way to Gerenzo, killed the adds on the platforms surrounding him, pulled him once just to focus on the add that stands by him. On the second pull, to actually kill him, he had already summoned his robot guy in the pull before and he didn't summon it again for some reason (Does HE have a cooldown?). From there, it was pretty straightforward; kill him, get out.

Rogue 24 - fairly easy. First stealth up on the smith with him. Kill him, vanish. Then go after gerenzo, use ambush to get drop on him and use lifeblood to keep my health up.

After reading these posts I was hesitant to attempt the quest on my level 23 enhancement shaman. It went down fairly easy enough even though the level 18 (I think) mob I was trying to clear first ran down the ramp towards Gerenzo and his level 21 sidekick (oops). Naturally, all three of them came up the ramp at me, so I popped a Searing totem and a Strength of Earth totem, finished the low level off, then the 21 and then Gerenzo. I ended up with about 33% health and 25% mana left over, so this one went way better than expected.

Almost too easy for a 25 druid. Single pulls all along the platforms, just make sure to not fall off. I'm not sure if somebody was working this recently on my server, but there was only Gerenzo on the final platform. Well, him and the vendor, but the vendor doesn't attack. :-P Starfire spam brought him down easily. Probably still would have been too easy 2-3 levels ago, provided there was no other mobs on that final platform.

Soloable at level 80.. prot pally 45k HP

It was pretty epic kill really.. i ran through all the mobs... and used concencrate.. then i busted out the Hand of Reckoning on him and down he went... i looted his arm jumped on my mammoth and jumped off the side... JUST as they respawned... it was close i think i only had about 44,999 hp left... so i was worried.

Just soloed as a 22 Druid. Died once, took out the add before death. Then when i got back to him, I threw on both HoTs, switched to cat, got him to 5 combo points, and then hit Rip. Healed myself, put up the HoTs again, switched back to cat and finished him off.

As a level 25 Ele Shaman, I got it on my first try with two Venture Co. Machine Smiths, Gerenzo Wrenchwhistle, and the two mechanicals that the Machin Smiths summon. Really easy, and only required a Stoneclaw Totem, Searing Totem, Fire Nova when it's up, a few Lightning Bolts, and 2 casts of Lesser Healing Wave.

Descrizione

I met Gerenzo once, but let me tell you, he's not easy on the eyes. His flesh looks like it's rotting away, and he's grafted metal and gears onto his body, replaced some of his limbs with mechanical ones.

Northeast of here, far above Cragpool Lake, up near the water wheel is where Gerenzo watches over the entire site. There's no way I could fight my way up there, not to mention take on Gerenzo... But you look like you might be able to make it.

If you kill him for me, I'll make it worth your while!
