Blue Note from beta states: "The trap upgrades are implemented. Higher level traps have a better chance of catching pets with lower miss rates. (we will be adding more detailed into to the trap tooltips shortly)"

Tooltip doesn't change or reflect the increased trap chance with this upgrade.

Received this reward yesterday, today I missed 4 times in a row on a level equal pet. RNG is still RNG I guess.

Wondering if there will be in the future a Master Trap, legendary item with one charge that lets you capture a Battle Pet with 100% capture chance.

This is a reward from the achievement Più trappole, grazie and can be replaced by Trappola Rinforzata, which is a reward from the achievement Un branco professionista.

Just a tip although I am not POSITIVE that it works:

When fighting a battle pet that can Dive, Burrow, Lift-Off, Meteor Strike, Proto-Strike, Heroic Leap, or Launch, and you are trying to catch it, throw your trap at the battle pet even if it is in its unattackable turn. This MIGHT still be thought of by the game as being a "failure" and increase your chance of catching it after they become attackable again on the next turn. I've done this several times already and I have yet to have failed to catch the battle pet on the turn when they become attackable again. Hope this helps to save some time/health!

It seems to me that it isn't guaranteed - we all miss way too often if our chances on throw #3 are actually 75%. Math says, as does the text, that the chance is increased by 25%. So:

Try 1 = base %
Try 2 = Try 1 x 1.25
Try 3 = Try 2 x 1.25

etc. We don't know the base percentage, but let's say it's 40%. It would then follow that:

Try 1 = 40%
Try 2 = 50%
Try 3 = 63%
Try 4 = 78%

I don't know about everyone else but my results after catching 200 battle pets reflect this model much more than 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%.

This is one of the most pointless items I have seen in the game to date. Miss 2-3 traps in a row on equal level pets almost 100% of the time. Scumbag Blizzard.

Something to note:
As many others have reported, you can miss more than 4 times.
Do not mistake the 25% as an additional 25% chance increase, it is 25% of the existing % chance to capture.
