During a quest in Dragonblight, you pick up Lieutenant Ta'zinni's Letter , which starts the quest A Letter For Home.

It turns out the NPC you killed is this Mage Trainers brother. It seems that the letter you found does indeed reach its destination, because a day or two later you will receive a letter from this NPC in your mail which says:

Dearest, <name>.

Overlord Agmar's personal courier saw to it that I received my brother's letter. The courier also told me that it was you who found it.

I just want to thank you for seeing to it that the letter got to me. I know that times must be tough for all of you brave souls who are daring to fight in Northrend.

Rest assured that I will avenge Ta'zinni. The blue dragonflight will suffer for what they did to my little brother!

This all goes to help explain why she is constantly crying.

If you go to speak to her after completing the quest, she will have this special dialog:

Thank you, <class> for seeing to it that I received the letter from my brother.

Rest assured, his death will not have been in vain. The blue Dragonflight will pay for this.

She is level 40...and her little brother was a 72?

And she says she will avenge him...she needs to quest.

The song, "Another One Bites the Dust" springs to mind as I can't find her. It makes me chuckle. Perhaps she ran off to join the Zandalari to avenge Ta'zinni. I didn't kill him, he kept running into my mace repeatedly as I watched horrified. <stifles a giggle>

She is not in orgr anymore - probably she's gone leveling up to avenge her brother.

For the life of me... Why oh why was it necessary for Blizzard to remove this NPC? Her tears (after the related quest) added excellent flavour to our NPC interactions.

If, and this is a really big IF, she is off avenging her brother's death (how exactly - it would involve attacking the BLUE dragonflight) then she has been gone a heck of a long time.

Surely we could have met another NPC along the way who informed us of her sad demise? Or how we met one of her children who informed us that mother was alive and well and retired to a village in The Barrens? Something is better than nothing!

Man. I did this quest recently. I hope Blizzard remembers all these little characters who had interactions with the Dragonflights and brings them in somehow. All these people touched by the Dragons in their lives would flock to the dragon isles seeking answers, redemption, vengeance. It would be a great way to actually make it feel like Warcraft and not cheap retcon vibes.

Hopefully we see Deino in 10.0 - but even if they are remembering others like Salandria, i'm not holding my breath.
