This is a excellent mob to use to level up your melee weapon skill. Start the quest, sit back wait for the mobs to despawn, and after they despawn start wailing on him.

Take off your gear and use poor quality low level weapons with the fastest atk speed you can find for maximum effect. If you do kill him abandon the quest and start the process over.

Dont use special attacks, unless you don't mind killing him faster.

Elite with a low hits.. for a armor of 9k it gives hit of 70-100

Managed to take it out today as a 69 Frost Mage (10/0/50).

I died on my first attempt, as I had no idea how many adds would spawn during the encounter. I ended up with five or more and it was just too much.

Recovering, I went back and waited for my cool-downs to refresh, then gave it another try. I sheeped the first add, until the second showed up, then I fell back to using Frost Nova or the Water Elemenetal's ranged Frost Nova to keep them locked down.

Cold Snap gave me a second does of Water Elemental towards the end, when it got a bit hairy. I managed to get it down by kiting the spawned adds and one wandering Zaxxi's Raider, spamming Ice Lance and Fireblast.

No spectacular gear, just the Engineer 350 Skill Goggles and a Death Frost enchantment on a Battle-Mage Baton.

Easy solo as a balnce druid.

Jump him summon treants run 36 yards away nuke the hell of him

Easily Solo'able, I noticed that adds will spawn as you are hitting him, as a hunter this was no probelm for me. I simply had my pet tank them whilst i continued Dps'ing the big guy.

Every Shot, move and spell will crit on him as he is lying down. Which causes 100% Crit rate, you will munch his health down really fast.

This is supposed to be a group quest, i can't really see why. The Fel Reaver doesn't hit you back, even if you stand near it on ontop of it.
