Found them very close to the pools south of Mezzamere on the road to Spears of azshara just click on golden fish and throw them to the water

Every pool can have fish around, I just had to walk around the pools doing other quests.

The pools just east of Ashen Strand have plenty of fish, they respawn rapidly too.

Make a point to double check your carp goes IN the water when you kick it.

Sometimes it won't quite make it into the water and needs a second or third attempt. Have had several like this. Had one get stuck in a waterfall and didn't realize it at first. When I tried to go back to it, the carp despwaned and I didn't get credit.

Pro Tip: make sure you are FACING IN THE DIRECTION you want the fish to go.

So I'm not sure if it's meant to happen but the moment I kicked this carp into the water, he spawned into a battle pet. specifically the Deeptide Fingrling.
