Skycrack shares the same skin with Huolon, a MoP rare who has a chance to drop Redini della Serpe delle Nubi Tonante d'Onice.

Sooo this means players who enjoy Huolon's appearance don't have to worry about loosing the chance for a mount or getting their potiential tame sniped! The main caveat is having a Mogu Invasion actually spawn during your Island expedition. It's completely random, so the island and difficulty doesn't really matter, you just have to keep doing expeditions until you get a mogu spawn. ( This may already be obvious, but I'd recommend doing a private tour. You won't have to worry about other players and can invite some friends to tag along! )

Once you get your mogu spawn, stop what you are doing and immediately search the new spawns for Skycrack; use a macro, such as /tar Skycrack to help locate him faster. You'll want to find him quickly due to the fact the enemy faction may begin attacking him. Though island expeditions have been soloable since Shadowlands, the NPCs can still do quite a bit of damage to rares.

Then you'll have your own thunder-y noodle! :)

I've been experimenting with the way these events occur. I got to 11.8k/12k essence then waited about 10 minutes without doing anything, and no event spawned, so I doubt that it's time based. It's probably either a chance to proc when reaching azerite milestones (33% 50% 66% or something) or a chance to proc when collecting azerite in general. This at least means that you don't have to worry about having to slow-play it, because it almost certainly procs when you're doing something, and not when the adds do something or based on time.

If you're worried about missing an event, don't worry, it's quite obvious. Your captain will tell you what you need to know in the talking head frame.

While taming, keeps your eyes on your minimap, as this will tell you whether the AI are nearby.
