This guy does pat around. However: he makes stops that last a very long time.

He spawns at the top of the tower. IMO: only kill him there if you are high level or in a group as there are 3 spellbinders there also. Their arcane magic does a lot of damage.

After being at the top of the tower for a LONG time. He walks down the stairs, out the tower to the front where there are two gaurds standing. He walks right over to one of the guards and stays there a LONG time before moving on.

IMO: You can either try killing him mid-way down the stairs of the tower and hope not to have adds. Or you can try killing him when he stops outside.

As a rogue: I killed him outside. I waited for the pat that does circles at the base of the tower to start a new circle away from me. I sapped the guard he was near, Shadowstep / ambush / hemo till 5 CP / eviscerate. Blind the other one add guard, and went at Durgen like no tomorrow.

I opted for zapping him on the staircase. I went down about half way, waited till he came along, sapped him, got behind and went to town. Didn't draw any extra attention.

Id like to add that for those that cannot stealth, killing the two gaurds in front of the tower (keep in mind the patrol around the base of it) and waiting for the Cavalier is just as good as going halfway up the stairs. You can easily keep an eye on any respawns that might add, and doesnt involve the hassle of fighting your way in and on the stairs.
