These art threads have been really neat!
Something tells me that the big cylindrical holes we see on the 'map' of Maldraxxus could be building 'summoned away' by the Scourge during WC3.
Gabe is lord. He gives the team pieces like toys to play with instead of doing a job.
Is Blastion a new zone, i have not explorer yet? :P
Absolutely love these art threads. I gotta say too, this expac they are KILLING it with the environments, other than Maldraxxas (it's well done, just I hate it personally xD) I've been drinking in all the detail and really loving the color palettes used. Night Fae is a hard and biased favorite, and the trees are so imaginative and such a balance between serene and whimsical. *chef's kiss* I'm very happy visually. WoWhead, thanks for these articles <3
I love concept art for games and movies. Its always cool to see what the artist had envisioned for the game/movie to look.
I'm glad there's "withered" areas of Ardenweald. The blue color scheme looks nice, but it feels like a garden more than a forest. The brown / natural green areas are a good complement.
Hope that they will fix the issue with Nvideo gliching. Because after playing ~ 1 hour headache appears.
I've been loving this series! Environmental work is one of the first things I notice about a new expansion (or any game, really!), and seeing the people behind it and the work they put in has been so cool!
Blastion? Is that a Freudian slip? ;PBack on topic, the art team of Blizzard is the only team that year after year, patch after patch, expac after expac COMPLETELY outdoes itself and reaches for new heights.Navigation may be crappy, node placement nonexistent (there are areas of Ardenweald that are completely dead; nothing there - no herbs, no ore, no critters, no mobs, just scenery and nothing more...) but that's on systems teams.Art is just getting better. That said, city design peaked with Suramar and has only gone downhill since, even if Boralus actually comes close... Oribos just doesn't come anywhere near either of those.
