after 15 minutes you get put at the top of the list for every other dungeon pack. So you're basically guaranteed to get a dungeon after 15 minutes which is a really nice feature. Before, if you wanted to dungeon from 90-100 in draenor, you'd be waiting 30 minutes to an hour for a dungeon.
Blizz really should make the Dungeon Finder queue people up for dungeons of ALL expansions. This new system reduces dungeon selection variety and increases queue times. The most fun I had when leveling alts in the past was running through all the different vanilla, TBC, and WotLK dungeons, because there are so many and the probability of repeating a dungeon was extremely low. With the new system, repetition is highly likely.
This actually makes sense if you remind yourself what the whole point of the entire leveling experience revamp is. The whole point, the primary reason why they do any of it, is to make sure that a new player that comes into the game and levels up in any of the campaigns, gets to see that campaign as a single coherent thing. If you think about it from that point of view and keep in mind that your #1 goal is to ensure that the story stays coherent for the player, allowing a player to randomly do dungeons from any expansion in the middle of their regular leveling experience is silly because it'd be really story-breaking to be leveling in Northrend and suddenly being put in a MoP dungeon. That's really the thing about a lot of the WoW community. People can't see past their own noses and completely forget to think about what the actual objective of the system change is. People just look at the change and look at how it impacts them and their play style and it if even slightly hinders it, it's apparently an "objectively bad" change without ever even slightly considering why the change was actually made. If people ever tried to understand the why behind the changes it would become a lot easier to understand what the changes are actually trying to do. Just complaining "it's bad because I don't like it" doesn't help.
Very obnoxious system altogether. I love to alternate between expansions, including doing classic dungeons occasionally (which are completely gone and nowhere to be found). If veteran players gets confused so easily, imagine gymnastics new folks has to go through.
Like you literally just said why:as the entire point of Chromie Time is to condense the story down to a single expansion - it doesn't make a whole lot of narrative sense to be leveling through Warlords of Draenor content and then queue into a Burning Crusade or Cataclysm dungeonThis begs the question as to why the game limits players in the first placeo.0
So basically set it to mop and quest in wod while lfging mop dungeons for fastest combo.
The system seems a bit broken at the moment :( I rolled a new character, chose Legion as my first zone, but the only dungeons I have available in the Dungeon Finder are dungeons from BFA. Which means that I can't complete the Legion zone storylines because I can't queue for the specific dungeons :( Am I missing something? Has this happened to anyone else?
Once you ding 50, your character cannot select Chromie Time. However, I am still trying to close out quests from prior expansion packs (Draenor and Legion) - in some cases I cannot advance in a quest line unless I complete the necessary instance. But I have no way to select instances from any other expansion except for BfA. This doesn't seem to make sense?
I feel that this new system makes leveling incredibly boring and that this is unnecessary. I understand why you can't allow everyone at every level to que for dungeons from every xpac, because then there would be some xpac dungeon ques that would take forever. But why can't they leave it like it was in BFA, prior to Shadowlands pre-patch? Only allow us me to que for classic dungeons from level 10 until 25 (what used to be lvl 60), then only allow us to que for TBC dungeons at 60 until what ever the equivalent of lvl 70 is and so forth? Why not just continue only allowing us to que for the dungeons from xpac that our level would normally be in in the past? And they might say: because we are not restricted to questing in those coordinating xpacs any more and that bothers me a lot, too. Why is it that I can only level in BFA areas past level 40 (the old level 96)? And why oh why couldn't they have made the current (Shadowlands pre-patch) level 60 and then made Shadowlands 65 or 70 so that we'd have a better idea of what level we would normally be? And why did we need a level squish? I was upset about the stat squish at the start of BFA, but I got over it pretty quickly because it made some sense. But the level squish is just uneccessary and now my BFA character is lower than my classic one, it just feels so weird, and when TBC comes my Shadowlands toon will be 10 levels lower than the TBC one. It's ridiculous. But to now make it so I will essentially never get to do lower level dungeons unless I go back and solo them, which isn't much fun, and so that we will forever only get to do BFA dungeons past level 10 (and Shadow dungeons when it is released) is just too much. They have taken any fun out of leveling a toon.
I have outstanding dungeon quests from before the prepatch. Most of these are classic quests, put to one side or unfinished for one reason or another. I always take the class specific quest to Shadowfang Keep. But now I can't do these quests. I have no intention of tying myself to one expansion when I have quests for more than one nor do I intend to do the zones in those expansions that I don't like when I already have Loremaster.I want to be able to do what I've always done, go where I feel like when I feel like. If I wanted to play a game that gave me no choice I would have chosen that kind of game. I can't play bfa because I suffer too much lag so I have to restrict myself to lower level zones and less populated areas.I also want to be able to roleplay with my friends which apparently I can't do if I'm stuck in Chromie time. Another good reason for not using it.Sorry if I upset the speed levelling addicts who hate to waste time levelling up.No, actually I'm not sorry. I don't care if my opinion upsets you. I'm entitled to my own opinion as much as you. I enjoy the levelling up experience and I'm sure I can't be the only one, but our views haven't been considered at all.Why can't Chromie just offer the speed levelling and leave the rest of us alone. And let us queue for the dungeons that match our character's level like we were able to before this pig's ear of a fiasco.
I chose Legion but it only gave me BFA dungeons like what the flip?
