A well deserved tribute, this man has affected a lot of people's lives in a positive way.RIP
Nice, best thing I have seen Blizz do in a long time, props to who brought this up at the Blizz meetings and pushed it through.
Thats nice! I also would like to see Hayven Game too ;.;
i dont care for pvp in wow but didnt he play mainly warrior?
I like it and all, but i still can't help but think its in poor taste. Reckful loyally played this game for almost a decade and then was permanently banned simply for wanting to try out the shadowpriest class in arena. One of his viewers offered up his account so Reckful played on it for 1 day. He got to around 2200 - which back in those days was about 500 rating away from gladiator and 800 away from rank 1.The account gained, in the grand scheme of things, nothing. Reckful's almost decade of loyalty and advertising for the game through his montages, which are now classics up there with Vurtne and Drakedog, were not enough to save him.There was a tempest in a tea pot surrounding the entire situation as the permanently offended and hateful tried to get him banned for days, then he was banned. Not for a day or so, but for ever.He tried in vain to get unbanned even so far as just a few months before he took his own life. Almost a decade of memories gone locked down over something as god damn meaningless as getting someone 2200 rating in arena. Think of how insignificant that is. Try to put it on a scale versus anything in life. So yeah, i think its really in poor taste that they wouldn't allow this great dude to have his legendary account bank and enjoy the memorabilia that he had collected over almost a decade and then only after he is dead, do they even speak of him again and its to put in an NPC to immortalise him in WoW-prison. The only thing they could've done worse is if they added his NPC and placed it in the stockades - locking him there until the end of WoW.Even from a totally selfish point of view - imagine the free PR and advertising if they had announced they were unbanning him and Reckful logged onto WoW on twitch. It would be a similar situation to when Tyler1 was unbanned from league - he logged on and had 400k viewers for hours. That stream alone, even from a completely selfish POV, would've gave the game the same level of advertising as an entire PR campaign on youtube would. He'd rake in hundreds of thousands or millions in revenue for Blizzard over the years, too.They had motive to do it, both financially and morally and yet they chose to not unban him anyway. They can't go back in time obviously, but dear god this is one of the worst PR disasters Blizzard has ever had and the only reason they're getting away with it is because Reckful is too nice of a person to hold a vendetta against Blizzard and call them out for their terrible decision.RIP Reckful.
You see...im not sure its a good idea to add Reckful as an NPC. I completely understand how important person he was, but he commit suicide right, he didnt die in car crash or anything like that right? Its painful one way or another but isnt it show other people with "problems" that ...they can be in game too?

So they're immortalizing someone that they permanently banned for account sharing? Seems kind of hypocritical/weird.
Why do people try to find the bad in such things? If you don't like this decision, keep it for yourself, many people are happy about this and im sure he would like it aswell. No matter how he died, he was a VERY huge icon in the community of the game, thousands of people loved his content and him as a person, personality. Seriously, i get it that people are allowed to share their opinions on basically anything on the internet but is it really needed when it comes to such things? I don't think so.
RIP Reckful . Community will never forget .
Rest in Peace
so nice and wholesome <3
Thank you blizzard <3 Rest in peace Legend
I expected for Reckful to be in the shadowlands, but I suppose some would have found that of bad taste.
very cool love to see bliz immortalize those who were impactful to the community
