If you are on a very low population realm you should probably try to limit your purchases as these connections keep going up. Prices are likely to fall on most items when it stabilizes after the fact. https://t.co/UtFbjiKbRQ— The Lazy Goldmaker (@lazygoldmaker) July 31, 2020

I was lucky enough to ride the Legion mission tables to gold cap, which got me the longboi on BFA's launch date (along with a ZG raptor from the BMAH on the way). It's been kind of nice spending the entire expansion not really worrying about gold, since the BFA mount gold sinks are laughably trivial in comparison.
I feel for the players who started their gold farming late and will not quite reach the $5 million before the mount goes away. Instead, I am focusing on the parts of the game I enjoy. I do wonder if it will make an appearance on the Black Market Auction House.
Our guild is upset with Blizzard and the Longboi. One of our raiders recently decided to try for it. He temporarily transfered to a larger pop server to help his gold making. He farmed his butt off to make enough. Got about half way there and got a 6 month ban for botting. He swears he wasn't and put in a petition. Got denied. So now he's gonna miss the launch and not have the mount. Quit his sub and is playing FFXIV. GG Blizz.
I've never been big on gold, usually as soon as I hit the 100k mark I spend it. Unfortunately I didn't capatalise on the WoD garrison mission table either when I could have. But I have decided to give it a solid go. I am at the 1.8m mark after starting 41 days ago through herbing (and now raw gold farming after someone crashed the herb market). I will admit I am starting to feel the burnout from constant farming. I really want to keep at it, as if I kept at my rate I'd have it for my birthday in September but I am struggling. I really hope I can :)
It's definitely a lot of gold. I have made around 12m in the two years of BfA with a mix of everything, some raw, some questing, mostly AH (current materials/consumables/crafting). I can see how it easy it is to get burned out by doing things like running every raid from WoD and Legion on all difficulties on 10 toons each week. Yes you can make over 300k a week but the time investment for this quite significant. I think it's something like 23 runs per toon x 10 toons = 230 runs. If you do them at 5 mins apiece, it's roughly 20 hours a week. I don't know if you can do these runs that quickly either because there is a lot of running and travel involved - so it's probably more like 40 hours a week just doing this. Spending all day doing the leather shuffles seems like it would burn one out as well. I think that for the average person, you are better off figuring out the AH instead of turning WoW into a full time job. I do hope they stop making these high priced mounts in the future - I am fearing the gold cap mount or worse, a mount you need to buy two pieces to make that each cost gold cap.
