Complaint about scaling and getting weaker as you level and get better gear are rampant, AH has been bugged for weeks and other atrocious problems with this expansion and they "fix" this. Something no one asked for and never needed to be changed (the bonus was barely anything and you couldn't even make it vendor for a decent price), Thanks Blizzard. You've got your priorities straight.
you used it on argus, how is that waste?
I only want to know... why?
People actually paid 40k during BfA for 15 main stat?
I WANT MY 40k back!
Well, 8.1 will get us a new one.I'm sure.
Saw this coming but it still is kind of upsetting for anyone who actually bought it towards the end of Legion and beginning of BFA. They could have at least removed it when the next permanent rune became available or they could have easily made it upgradeable by using it as a token of sorts like they've done with armors in the past along with a certain amount of gold. Say, 10k-50k + the Lightforged Augment Rune.
I'm not terribly invested in this change, but saying the rune was an "unfair advantage" is wrong. Everyone could buy it. If you chose not to, that doesn't make it unfair.
This is commonly how runes work on the onset of the new expansion. I'm sorry if Legion was your first WoW experience so you didn't know, but ... the Empowered Augment Rune back in Warlords of Draenor turned off at 109. Just like this one turned off at 119. It's normal for this to happen.
It was pretty much a known fact that at 119 this was going to become worthless. People who bought it for 40k must have been new to the game and not known so ... that does kind of suck. But veterans know this happened with the WoD rune so it should happen here. I personally did the math and equaled out how many uses I would get for how much each individual rune was going on AH. Overall, I found it to be economically reasonable to purchase it, especially since I knew I could use it until 120.
I'm with the critics here. Did they also apply this change to Defiled Augment Rune? Because the permanent rune was primarily a convenience item, maybe a gold saver for heavy users. The jarring thing here is also that it wasn't changed during Beta, for the release of 8.0, but in a hotfix one week after the release of the expansion. At this point, leave it alone, you're only making a fool of yourselves.
No We did not see that comming for an item that costed 40k for each character. and also grinding exalted REP! Basically Blizzard losing all credibility as an mmorpg. Nothing you earn besides transmog/achiv/titles stay. The benefit is very low for high leveled players but still we should be able to use it. like the fel focuser and other similar items from wod and pandaria. Its like you put level restriction for high players for low healing potions.. its stupid cause high level player should not use it cause the benefit is really bad. BUT if i want to drink level 1 potion i still can and i should can! thats only a shows how bad is blizzard at designing the game.. everything we earn even our skills/spells its scrapped in each expansion, not for the players but the convinience of the designers! either make it work again or make it sold in merchand for at least half price. Its like blizzard say oh we have the cool mount with AH and cost 5 millions but then in next expansion they decided its too op so no more AH just a big ugly mount for that amount! #$%^ you blizzard! PS the fact that they did it before does not justify it. a mmorpg that scrap things over and over and do such restrictions proves its bad design. Time to move on from that game... not only for this but for the fact that instead of having more skills.talents/traits since wod in each expansion we lose more than we earn.. #$%^ty game
Another jackass move by Blizzard...
Would have been okay if it stopped working at 111.But doing this now as a hotfix? Nice move to make a portion of the players angry.Well, that thing was weak anyways, guess I just got annother bag-slot.
I recently purchased mine at 120. What a nice way to rob us of our gold.
