Garrosh becomes a great warchief, everyone hates this, he becomes a villain.Sylvanas becomes warchief, does two debatable actions, mostly everyone hates them, she becomes a villain.Like if it hadn't been revealed they planned things an expansion in advanced, or whatever, I'd definitely say the fandom as a whole is why some of the storytelling just comes up mediocre at all times. Honestly, I think I'll still just think this.I'm sure if I never came to WoWhead except after expansions launch, like many others, I'd get a full story in one go and admire how good it is. Though I like to read every little thing that creeps up each Thursday, and definitely doesn't help with it being in pieces.Plus, I'm thinking Blizz kind of messed themselves up on this. They want to expand their storytelling through comics, animatics, cinematics, novels, short stories, etc; but they need to smooth the major context across all mediums AND reflect it better in games (which they've barely done in the past anyway).
The only annoying thing in WoW story is that in the past it was inconsistent and all over the place, now its just the latter. Why would the story of a video game should be told outside the game, is beyond me. I would never expect the story of wow to become a literature masterpiece though and i think if it needs to serve the game, it can't and it will never be.
While everyone is arguing about Sylvanas here and proving Blizzard's A vs H division, I'm just going to say what everyone's thinking:If Blizzard doesn't make Zappyboi a developing character moving forward, they've missed an opportunity of a lifetime.

People are so mistaken, "I hate the story" no you hate what is happening in the story. The storytelling is driving you to that. Go read Disgrace by J. M. Coetzee. Guarantee those people who say, "I hate the story" will be saying the same thing.
Just here for the salt. Got fries and everything.
