Not being a pvper myself (aside from the pvp towers and I hope they continue with those in BfA), I'll never do this, but it's nice to see the pvp crowd get some new modes of entertainment.
fight me 1v1
Please don't lock mounts behind this... please....
lol duel time ....... i guess
They've pretty much already covered this. There was an article on here a while back talking about the possibility of 1v1s. The guy mentioned two things that would be true about it if it got implemented in any way shape or form. 1) It would be impossible to balance. It's already too much for them to balance 2v2s, 3v3s, and 5v5s, and they're not going to waste any time or resourced trying to balance 1v1s. 2) There would be no rewards, and if there are rewards there wouldn't be many and they would be meaningless. The tabard is probably the only reward you're going to see. The reason for this is simple. If you start throwing rewards in there then people are going to feel obligated to do them, even if they don't want to. They don't want to make anyone feel obligated so there will be no reason to do them beyond the pure joy of doing them, kind of like the micro-holidays.
It's gonna be a fun and also brutal, as some class/specs are more suited to stomping ppl 1v1...take my main for example...a Warlock...arguably one of the top dueling classes...I rarely lose to anyone. I suspect WW and sub rogue and also warriors will dominate lol...pop CDs = gg for these classes
Oh, for N'Zoth sake, no more PvP :S
Fun fact: general design seems to somewhat mimic that of a popular dueling spot in DS3. The only difference is a giant pillar in the middle (for LoS purposes).
This is pretty cool. Just need an arena to go with it, and some smecky prizes!
As someone who tested this in Beta; it's similar to Duel from the old Jedi Knight games. Basically, people queue for entry and two people spawn in an arena. With the winner staying in and the loser gets teleported out of the arena and then the next person in queue will spawn in. The issue I found with this is that the winner's CDs don't reset which could create an disadvantage.Overall a similar experience to Brawler's Guild, with flavor NPCs and a far-sight totem effect to watch the duel. Nothing added besides water/food vendor atm and any spec can queue in.
All we wanted was SoloQueue and they give us this lame feature. Are you really listening to the community, designers?
swifty's dream is fulfilled
So Blizz took the ambiance (lack) of Goldshire dueling and gave it a bfa home. The docks feel right, but Goldshire you could take a break from mind numbing >15 questing and feel involved in something. I suspect it wont dent the Goldshire crowd. Its like WoWs Hyde Park...a peaceful place for all walks of phreak lyfe.
Create Gank guild for Alliance players. They like 20 vs 1 duels on flyight points :D
