Really it was only the tier 17 that was inspired by Tier 4, and that was only the normal mode shoulders, and color palate that was the same. The design for the helm was drastically different. The Order hall sets were indeed recolors of the Challenge mode sets, with different shoulders, and I believe this was done to help those that did not get the Challenge gear to have a similar, but still very different set, they well could have just done the dungeon sets with a special tint if they were looking to be lazy. I do believe that the reskin of Tier 6 was very deliberate since many have dubbed Legion as TBC2, so what better way to cement this than stepping back into beloved gear sets, that are iconic, and still fit that feeling. Also the original sets are nearly a decade old, and many people have asked many times for HD remakes of iconic sets, and it would make much more sense to make them drops, than just updating old content that can be soloed with no effort.
I'm sorry, I'm a luddite and I still don't get it. How do I get the pretty purples?
Man these diablo devs are just lazy. Looks like the boosted starter armor with different shoulders.
I don't like the chest pieces at all. Having said that I think tabards would look great with the rest of the set. The detailing on the boots is really impressive work.
Paladins only have 5 race options, tier has 7 recolors, so why is making 1 red and black set for belves so darn hard?
The shoulders are so huge they make the head look tiny.
Honestly, am I the only one who hates that the gold-blue tint is only Mythic? And am I the only one hating the moving pauldrons on that Mythic set?

Thanks for the comparison shot at the end. I'm glad to see the Tier 6 shoulders still have a unique visual style compared to Tier 20.
Damn, I must be the only one who thinks that Blizzard is getting lazier with reintroduction of T6/T20 loot and "Epic mounts" for classes like Lock and Paladin... It kind of not the same as T3 / T7 reintroduction when t3 (before BMAH) was completely removed and T7 was redone.
I hope this opens up the opportunity to revamp older tier sets. I would love to see a future tier using remodels of legacy tier 2.
That sure is a set. Too bad it is hideous :P
I love the gold and blue versions :-)
I'm disappointed the gold/blue set is mythic only. Also disappointed the gold/pink set won't be available this time. The books on the shoulders are a bit ... outlandish. That's just not practical. Would have been better with occasional animations with a hammer coming out of the shoulders to smite foes, an orb of light that forms and disperses randomly, or a libram as part of the belt if they insisted on a book in the design. All of the normal colors are really bleh. They're all monotone. Too much of one color. They would have been better if Blizzard varied the color scheme a bit and had like silver/blue, red/gold, etc. Maybe even a black/bronze. All of the color schemes used make me want to grab my sunglasses because they're way too bright, especially that 2nd purple one. Love to know why there's two purple ones and not a different color chosen. The colors make me think Blizzard just did the mythic color schemes, copied the texture to a new file, made it grey scale, then played with the hue and saturation which resulted in the monotone colors. Blizzard artists are better than this crap. Looks like they just sat down one of their grade school kids and told them to play around with the hue and saturation tool. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if the really bright ugly purple one ends up the LFR one forcing players to turn down their own saturation due to how bright it is.It's a nice update, but the color schemes for anything that isn't mythic leave a LOT to be desired. Just because they're not mythic doesn't mean they should look like Blizzard threw a paint can at it or took a grand total of 20 seconds to do ALL of the recolors due to using the hue and saturation tool. I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed with many of the others, too, but those are for other threads.
So, there's 'inspiration' and there's "We're going back to the well cause we're out" which Blizzard seems to be doing a lot lately. Banking on nabbing those sweet nostalgia subs eh Blizz? It's like they've been trying to court the lapsed BC crowds for two expansions or so and I will put money on a third Kael appearance for this reason.I mean it looks neat, and its not like Blizzard hasn't reused models before. But still, it's like the design instructions were "Reopen the T6 files and then tweak them". I'm also sure it's a lot of work, but not as much as designing a new set from the ground up.Anyway, I'll sort of wave it aside so long as this they're doing this to have time to work on a third tier.
oh my god, i cannot wait for it!
i like the red one and i'm horde, so i expect the red one to be horde
the green set is kinda neet. could go for a fel touched pally thing. i personally would have liked a re-done judgment set but w/e lol.
One word: Terrible.
