The troubling thing at this point is that a tier gives about 7 points worth of talents, but next tier requires 5. This means there is next to nothing is terms of variation between builds. As my friend said, they might have just given you one button "choose shadow priest".Other than that, I generally like that talents are being streamlined. Waiting for next pass.
i believe, you get it as a spell, (like travel and cat form)
It doesn't matter that it's a first pass. What matters is the current *direction*. People are providing feedback to make sure the next build goes in the right direction. No one with a brain thinks these talents are the live build.
The priest disc level 10 spell is PENANCE?o.0Edit: There's a bug. If you fill out the talent tree, then take points out, you can't seem to fill some talents. Like say I filled the marksman and survival talent trees, I can't fill the BM tree even if I take points out without resetting a talent tree.
Sadly I dislike, It takes away from the utter creativity you could have when playing with the talents. For example, a friend I had got bored, and completely revamped raiding by making a dual wielding resto shaman who's sole purpose was to spam chain heal and get earthliving on everyone, sort of like a resto druid. Interesting and fun specs like that cannot exist with such a system.
Looks like there will be no way around traps if you're a survival hunter. You have to max out the first tier in survival to avoid putting points in traptalents. When you then arrive at the third tier you find 3 (!) talents that concern traps and 1 melee ability (which noone will ever pick). Also, I don't feel like picking up a hittalent as UH DK just so I don't have to pick another useless ability. The previous, big trees were much better.
its nice if you havent played the class before, but if you did , there's nothing new at all

If this stays close to what it is ... I will be playing something else. I hate the lack of creativity that is displayed here. I saw in another post about how Blizz removed talents that everyone took, those talents were needed to survive in this game. /facepalm
meh, I'm liking the current talent trees more and more, at least with them you have some choice. Lets hope blizz scraps this and instead just adds the new talents on.
I'm not impressed by this for Druids who frequently will spread across Balance and Resto for their tree. To get some semblence of what I have now, I am forced to take on what appears to be non PvE Raid friendly Starsurges and the like to trigger into talents which I need. Also, not happy at the fact that I have to spend 31 in Balance before being able to opt into Resto for my Shapeshifting talents. Is it just me or is it a 'der' factor having a talent to save mana/rage on shapeshifting to Moonkin or Feral that neither can utilise until the tree of their choosing hits 31?I'm not liking the fact that I am forced to select things that appear to be of no use in the PvE environment. While I do PvP, I would prefer more control over what talents I want.Or is it just me?At the moment, I'm not sure I'm happy with the way Moonkins are headed. I eagerly await more info from Blizz on this one, especially the spells.
Overall, I like the new approach they are taking with the talents. Cutting them down in size was inevitable, could you image if they just carried on extending the tree's and giving us 1 talent point per level. By level 100, we would have had 91 talent points!Carrying on along that path would have just led to an almost endless list of possible builds and variations that would have made balancing a complete nightmare.By cutting down the talent tree's and forcing us to pick a primary tree, Blizz will now have a much clearer picture on talent spec's. This will allow them to spend less time balancing class/specs and more time creating cool new content.
I'm quite frankly a bit disappointed, as out of the specs that I with 4 alts and my wife with 3, there are about 2 that have any sort of choice involved. Just go down, clicking the talents that are GLARINGLY OBVIOUS (such as yer whiffle does more dmg when you are a whiffle rogue, or even more OBVIOUS, the ability to whiffle as a whiffle rogue), and before you know it, you're at the bottom of the tree. Take exactly ten seconds to look at the second tier of the other two trees. One of them will have GLARINGLY OBVIOUS good things in it. Put the points there. Done. It took me all of two seconds to spec my main spec hance sham, whereas as of right now it's a srs choice between mana regen or more fire totem dmg. This is just an example, but you see where I'm going with this. I personally fail to see how making less talents, and the ones that were kept were basically all good, with few exceptions, is going to make talent choices more individualized. In point of fact, it appears to have had the opposite effect. Sure, I may have to choose one or two talent points, but as the game is live right now, I can choose hundreds more variations that are actually viable. I checked, it looked like there were four viable enhancement shaman specs. That's just one of 30, but it didn't appear to be all that different. Oh, and Blood DK's appear to have the ability, and the desire, according to that talent tree, to just put every point in blood. Nice. Not liking this, hoping for more revisions.PS As a side note, I was apparently the only person on earth that REALLY liked the percentages thing you put at the top of the talent trees when you put points into your main spec. It actually made it more of a choice to put more points into the off spec vs points into main spec. I REALLY REALLY REALLY wish you would put that back in.PPS Another footnote, one of the advantages of having so many talent points to choose from is relatively easily being able to tell who's fail and who's not. I know that may go against your design goals of making the game easier for lil 8 year old Johnny, but as a raider who recruits, it's nice to be able to glance at a talent tree, an inspection window, a raw gear score, some gems, and a dps meter, ane be able to tell who's pullin the weight and who I'm carrying. Without failures, there is no success. PPPS last one I swear : to the posters who are saying this is a first build, the actual problem I have with this isn't the fact of which talents were included and how it's goinig to be implemented, it's that I have a problem with the game developers making the game more accessible and easier to play in general; I *want* it to be f*cking hard and require some math and research, to keep the retarded kids out of my raids, and from wasting my time.
