WoW Economy Weekly Wrap-Up
Hello! Welcome to the 124th edition of the WoW Economy Weekly Wrap-up!
My name is

YouTube
and I also stream my adventures on

Shadowlands Release Date
With the recent news of
Shadowlands Release Date in Q4 2020
, that gives us gold makers some more precise time guesses at to how long we have to buy the Brutosaur mount before it heads to the Black Market Auction house. From the news, if we look at October 1st being the earliest possible date, and if you started with zero gold today you would need to accumulate 34,246g per day. Now, hopefully many will be further along on their journey, so the goals will be different per person. I have updated my
Google Spreadsheet
to account for the new dates if you would like a copy?
Of course, if Shadowlands releases further into Q4 then you will have more time. It could be as much as an extra 3 months!
If you would like some tips as to how to get the gold you need,
Studen Albatroz
has a great guide on what he would do if he were to try to farm the necessary gold..

Stop Complaining and Get Creative
u/Woiser
has come up with some great advice on what to do if you find yourself stuck in a rut and not sure how to make gold ..
Over the last couple of days/weeks I've grown tired of all the posts from people complaining about Multiboxers and the markets crashing, as part of the shutdown or simply the end of expansion draught we're nearing.
So here are some thoughts and ideas, tips'n'tricks for phrases that I've read over and over, that might help you with your goldmaking. I will NOT go into excessive details, or at least try not to.
"I can't make gold"
Well...you won't with that mindset. You can always "make" gold. And "make" I take literally. RAW GOLD is basically creating gold vs your playtime, albeit WQ's, Old Raids, Dungeons and the amount, at least for repeatable content like WQ and Dungeon farming all depend on your setup (speedchars obv better than slow dks).
Before you log on your main, go 10x skyreach, 10x Bastion of Twilight (with PoT), 10x Freehold (trash only around 1st boss), FH for me takes 15 minutes and nets me 4-5k in VENDORVALUE
(2,5k+ raw (selling all boe) + 70 satin + 950 linen with synchronous thread). Do it once per day and you MAKE 28-35k Raw gold per week. There's your free of AH US token per month, do it twice per day here's your free of AH EU token. Same goes for skyreach, iron docks, etc etc. BE CONSISTENT.
"Nothing sells"
When nothing sells, either enter the undercutting wars, manipulate your competition out of the market or leave the market and enter new ones with higher entry levels or less competition. Or work around the AH completely via Tradechat. Become a supplier for a crafter, it's better to have cheaper and safe sales than no sales at all. If you struggle with BFA competition, look to older markets, since this problem is most talked about for fullpop servers. USE THE FULLPOP TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. Almost everything sells on a fullpop, sooner or later. You don't want to compete with AH-nolife-botlike behaviour?
DIVERSIFY. Grab different Elementals, Primals, Volatiles, Old Herb/Ore, Leather but GET IT UP ON THE AH.
You're missing out on an incredible amount of sales. But the GPH is bad? It's even worse if you don't sell anything.
"Markets crashed"
We have the end of the expansion and the last patch is already there for a while + a shutdown with many people at home. It's absolutely no surprise low entry markets like herbalism crashed and probably will continue to crash into the ground. I always wonder why people want to compete in such low entry markets and complain about low prices. Like in real-life more valuable items require a higher entry level, or they lose their value. Why do you even want to compete in farming markets other than skinning (since only 1 character can actually skin). If you enjoy it, great, but then do it for your enjoyment and don't complain about the gph and the mb competition.
What markets retain their value over the end of the expac, what might even rise in value? Ask yourself that question!
Use TUJ for example to compare price-behavior for the last 2 expacs. "But I need gold fast!" - have you done your daily/weekly raw gold routine yet?
Be creative!
"AWW MAN I only got 1 char and can't do all that" - "AWW MAN I only got so little time to play" NO! Your argument is invalid.
You got 1 (probably 120) char and up to 12!!! 110 Class Trials. Use them!
Transmute anchorweed on them to funnel your Alchemist, park them at vendors, check for rare npcs and sell the phasing, camp rares for yourself with them. 3 hours are a LOT of time if you only log-in, check, logout.
Learn patience
If you want quick Gold, go buy a token. Otherwise, learn some patience.
CONSISTENCY is king.
A lot of you started rushing into goldmaking once you learned that the Brutosaur will be removed from the vendor in SL. WHY ARE YOU SO FOCUSED ON IT? You had the end of Legion + ALL of BFA to get him and work towards him. If you did not want it bad enough to work for it before, you might as well get 5 Million, keep them as capital and make a killing in SL, then at 15 million throw 10 million on it on the BMAH... or... you know... finance a 2nd account for years. As for competition, imagine this: you make a record label, and expect Warner B or Sony to welcome you in the market? They will do their utmost to either buy or hinder you as much as they can. THAT is the competition you're facing with long term "pros" at goldmaking.
With money comes more money, but especially knowledge.
To acquire more gold people have accumulated experience. This experience is NOT something you can learn in a day, it takes trial and error, success and consistency.
You NEED to think for yourself, if you want to maximize your economic potential.
For example, with BFA prices sinking more and more people are going to farm old world stuff like volatiles. DON'T jump the bandwagon, do it before them or after them and buy or hold when quantity explodes. What are they going to need though? POTIONS OF TREASURE FINDING, and take a guess who should be the one supplying them? Right, YOU!
Any questions into the comments pls. Have a nice day, Happy Goldmaking
Freehold Runs
Following on from the above post,
u/wirez62
comments that Freehold runs solo have been doing particularly well for them..
I was just going to post on Freehold with Tailoring tools of the trade. I pull the whole instance in 3 pulls as a 460 guardian druid and it takes me about 7 minutes and I get say 450g, 8 greens (4 weapon vendor for 60g, 4 armor vendor for 31g), about 40 cloth, 1-2 deep sea satin. It's decent.
Even if you just shuffle the tidespray linen into tidespray linen pants and vendor them, that puts the minimum value of tidespray linen at around 2g per unit for the rest of the expansion unless blizz goes and nerfs vendor rates or drop rates or something. So call it 550-600g in tidespray linen plus a deep sea bag per run, these will continue to sell and sell and sell like hotcakes.
Oh and bonus, since I did run a ton of mythics to get my bear up to 460, which isn't even high for a tank, but it's ok I guess, I have a ton of hydrocore, and I'm close to revered with Tortollan's so once I get rank 2 for the 32 slot bags, I can run that LFR Uldir and get the rank 3 pattern and I have enough hydrocore in the bank to make like 65x 32 slot bags..
My last run on my druid tank took 7 mins 11 seconds, gives Currency Looted of 430g 58s and Looted Item Value of 1177g 8s which seems about average. I can manage about 8 of those runs per hour for about 12,856g/hr

Non BfA Gold Making
u/Goodgamings
posted a
couple of times
about farms they do without BfA in order to make gold ..
Vortex Pinnacle.
6 min runs are easy you can do them in 3 with bear tartar. Disenchanting isn't great but the Volatile air certainly is. Also you can get the drake mount that's cool. Only go to the second boss then jump off the edge to be ported to the beginning rinse and repeat.
Garrison Farming.
Run WOD garrisons on as many characters as you can. Get lvl 1 trading post on all of them. One of them needs to have the garrison level three with leatherworking hut. Log in every two days empty you resource cache and check the trader buy either sumptuous fur or raw beast hide whichever is 16 resources that day. Transform those raw beast hides into drums of fury at you leather hut and sell them. Sell the sumptuous fur direct to the ah.
You can also get the tailoring hut where you can turn in sumptuous fur for hexweave cloth via work orders. Then use the cloth to make the 30 slot hexweave bag, I find its better to sell the fur direct.
More sumptuous fur farmed in "Nagrand"
at the forced spawn directly south of the ring of trials. You can find the exact spot easily on Google as well. It's a great source of both sumptuous fur and raw beast hide. Also some transmogs drop that I've sold for like 500-2000g
Hellfire Ramparts Farms.
It's that simple this dungeon is a literal ring it leads you right back to the beginning and its quick to get to the entrance in outland from the portal from SW.
Volatile Fire in Western Hyjal.
This is a great one for a two man team. I use a druid and a fury warrior both 110 but two druids would be better I think. You want to take the portal to Hyjal from the portal island in SW. Fly west towards the Grove of Aessina. The farm is right where the grass meets the burning ground there are a line of "Raging Firestorm" mobs fighting Treants right along the treeline. There is a similar line of on the west side of the area. Have each toon clear the line and switch back an forth each time. The drop on the volatile fire isn't high but given this method and the druids fast mounting and movement speed cooldowns you can kill a ton of these mobs. I've seen volatile fire sell as high as 60g/unit. Definitely need 2 to make this one worthwhile.
Mogu'shan Palace / Tu Shen Burial Ground Motes of Harmony, windwool cloth, ghost iron.
Located on the eastern side of the vale of eternal blossoms Mogu'shan Palace is a Pandarian instance. This farm is a circuit between two spots. In the palace all you want to do is clear the first room rinse and repeat as many times as you can. You dont want to move forward in the instance as there is so really long RP. Once you are locked fly west from the entrance to Tu Shen Burial ground. You'll see Pandas fighting spirits. Those spirits are your target mob. Usually by the time I clear them the respawns have begun. This can be a great farm to acquire Motes of Harmony. Another benefit is windwool cloth and ghost iron which are essential if you are attempting to craft sky golems for self use or trade. (Also "spirit money" is a legit gray drop 11g/unit vendor) Ghost iron spawns all around the area.
A note on savage blood.
I would suggest hording them vs using them to buy savage blood bags (they net around 50g when opened). I have sold numerous units for anywhere from 100 to 200g depending in the circumstances. I would venture you'll be happy you saved them in the end. Unless you need quick gold :).
Ps. I'm by no means an expert just hoping to help others farm tokens without BFA. Thanks!
