YouTube
and I also stream my adventures on
Twitch

We have a release date now for 8.3!! January 14th for NA and January 15th for EU.

Love it or hate it, the new Auction House is coming in 8.3. I am hopeful it will bring lots more activity from returning players and look forward to seeing what happens to various markets. Interesting times indeed!
Also, the Ny'alotha raid will open on January 21st (NA) / 22nd (EU), with Mythic opening the week after. This is incredibly quick, so get ready with those consumables!
Winter's Veil Gold guide
BregVids
has updated his guide on
How to Make Millions of gold during Winter Veil
...
He covers the Daily Quests you can do with your Level 3 Garrison in order to collect
Savage Gifts
, these have a roughly 3% chance to drop a
Minion of Grumpus
. He then goes on to talk about his long term flipping methods, the true sign of patient investing!
Tidespray Linen Shuffles
Tidespray Linen
is turning out to be one of the core economy driving materials in BfA. We are finding new and interesting ways to turn it into a profit.
u/Ahoy_CapnCookie
has posted a wonderfully detailed
Rework of the Great Bracer Shuffle
on Reddit for when Tidespray Linen is less than 2.15g...
Step 1: Buy Linen and Craft Tidespray Linen Bracers.
Step 2: Disenchant all of the blue bracer procs
Step 3: Disenchant ~most~ of the green bracers
This is where we start straying from the path of the typical bracer shuffle. Typically you'd send your green bracers over to your Leatherworker in order to scrap them all. However, this isn't the same shuffle by any means. This is actually a vendor shuffle, which enables us to make most, if not all, of our gold back without having to use the AH.
Step 4: Craft Umbral Wands
This is where we start seeing our spent capital return to us. In this instance I crafted 10k wands (split between the 2 enchanters, once again). I vendored all of the greens and sent all of the blues to my bank for storage until I finished this entire process
Step 5: Disenchant the blue wands
I feel like you're starting to recognize the pattern here. All we're doing is aiming to get the most veiled crystals out of any blue procs we can while also maximizing the amount of gold we can immediately return back to us through the vendor. It's not a hard shuffle, but it is tedious.
Step 6: Disenchant the remaining green bracers (4832)
At this point we can simply DE the rest of the greens. It's not a whole lot, really. The only reason I didn't disenchant every single green in step 3 was to see if I could min/max this shuffle further and scrap any remaining greens we didn't need to DE at this point. However, based on what we needed and our previous gloom dust rate, I knew it would be tight anyway. If I were to do this all over again, I would have just disenchanted all of the greens back in step 3.
Step 7: Craft the last round of Umbra Wands
This is the last and final step of this shuffle. All we're doing is crafting the 1869 Wands and vendoring every single one. Yes, even the blues. We don't really have enough spare Gloom Dust to put them towards another round of wands if we were to DE the blues we get out of this.
While this may not be the most efficient use of time and materials, it largely avoids the AH and scrapper and makes use of vendoring and disenchanting in mass amounts. Be sure to check the prices on your server before embarking. I'd also suggest try out various methods with a small sample size and see if it suits.
If Tidespray is less than 1.8g, the whole process can be simplified further by crafting
Tidespray Linen Pants
and vendoring those.
Fair warning though, all these methods do involve a large amount of tedium and varying amounts of setup of professions, so it's not easy gold, but it is a way of turning your gold into more gold.
Classic WoW
GoldGoblinNet
, a wonderful German gold maker has translated his profession guides for Classic for his English speaking counterparts. You can find his complete guide to Classic Professions at
professions.goldgoblin.net
He can also be found regularly streaming at
twitch.tv/goldgoblinnet
Also,
u/weruha
has shared a great tip for
Faster Auctioning in SW Classic
...
Spending a lot of time running to and from the AH and the mailbox in SW? Well there's a spot just outside the AH to the right of the lamp post that you can interact with Auctioneer Jaxon without going inside. All you need to do is:
Make '/tar Auctioneer Jaxon' macro and put it on your bars or bind it to some convenient key.
Bind 'interact with target' (Menu->Key bindings->Targeting) to a convenient keybind. I use '' so I can quickly hit them.
And voila! time saved.
This is genius! As we all know, time is money firend!
Battle Pet Flipping
Interested in Battle Pets?
u/tuazo
has posted his methods for making gold with a
Battle Pet Flipping Guide
specifically with the aim of levelling them up and selling them on.
I've found flipping Battle Pets to be a lucrative way to make gold. I'll buy them cheap as level 1 on the AH for gold or with other currencies through various special vendors. I have also flipped pets acquired via drop from dungeons/raids or prizes from pet tamers. Once in a while I will purchase pets that are higher than level 1 but less than 25 and level them to 25. However, I have found people think that just because the pet has a few levels on it they can list it for a much higher price. I also try to convert the pets to 'rare' (Blue) quality if they are not already using a Blue Training Stone. I primarily focus on the daily Pet Battle Tamer quests that I do battling pets in the wild. Two reasons for this: Tamer Quests award experience, gold and other loot; the daily Pet Battle Tamer quests always (except for the WoD daily Garrison) will be the same pets every time.
TL;DR / Disclaimer
Be warned this can be a lot of work and you may not get much of a return for a while. It is not unusual for me to have to keep re-listing my Battle Pet auctions after the 48-hours are up. Good news is the deposit is only 1-silver per pet any level/quality. Your results may vary. Consult your local auction house, The Undermine Journal and WoWPets to see how pets sell for your server(s).
On average a pet or two will sell every couple days or there is a long dry spell between sales. The sell prices range from around 100 gold to 15-20K gold. Occasionally (every couple weeks) "collectors" will buy 4-5 of my pets at once spending 30K+ Gold. You might not strike it rich, but gives you some extra gold for materials or to cover the deposits for your big money makers.
Bonus! Pet Battles are a great way to get experience for your farming or gathering alts. Your out wandering around anyway and your alt gets experience (plus some of tamers reward with a bag containing gold and may be a stone and/or pet drop) for defeating tamers (daily quest, once per account, per day) and for the pet battle itself. Note: your character will get experience for defeating pets in the wild too. Occasionally Blue Battle pet stones can be awarded from pet battles in the 'wild'.
Now, pets are not for everyone, but a solid team can be really useful, especially with the new
Pet Battle Challenge: Blackrock Depths
, so we may see renewed interest in pets once 8.3 releases.
The guide goes further in describing which pets are useful to start with, so I would expect these to be in high demand.
Now the big question, what pets should I get for my army? Below are pets you should acquire, get to 25 AND make blue as quickly as possible. These will be your "go to" pets for many of the tamer battles.
Anubisath Idol
. Can either be bought on the auction house or dropped from the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. Save your gold and buy him from the AH as he is one that you will use frequently. Deflection always goes first and blocks ALL attacks during that round. His Sandstorm ability is awesome as will null or drastically reduce damage from skitter/stamped type attacks. Plus being Humanoid, will regain 5% of total health per attack.
Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling
. Can be built be engineers with Pandaren Engineering or bought on the AH. Again, if you have the gold buy this one as will be used a lot. All mechanical pets can 'rebuild' themselves after death to 25% of their max health after death and unlike undead's they won't automatically die at the end of the next round.
Lil'Bling
. Can sometimes be found in the Blingtron 4000/5000/6000 (not sure about the new 7000 model) gift packages. Can also be bought on the AH. This little guy can do some serious damage and can take a lot of abuse too. Can heal itself or cause damage with the Blingtron Gift Package ability.
Iron Starlette
. Can be obtained by starting the Blasted Lands via Warning Orgrimmar (H) or Report to the King (A) at level 90 quest. Can also be purchase on the AH. This one can be really expensive, but is so worth it. This is a must have to easily beat Tamer Christoph VonFeasel at the Darkmoon Faire daily battle. Also comes in handy for a couple of the daily Garrison battles too.
Darkmoon Zeppelin
and
Darkmoon Tonk
. One of several purchasable (with prize tickets) Blue pets from Lhara on Darkmoon Island. Costs 90 prize tickets each and are the first two pets you should buy with your prize tickets and work on getting to level 25. Once you have more tickets, then you can buy, train and sell the other pets. Both are very useful against other tamers pets. A level 25 Darkmoon Tonk will make the battle with Jeremy Feasel (the other Darkmoon trainer) much easier. You will find you'll be using these two Darkmoon pets quite frequently against other tamers.
TSM Battle Pet Import Strings for 8.3
On another note, related to Battle Pets,
BilisOnyxia
has updated his
TSM Battle Pet import strings
to include the new ones on the PTR.
I just updated my import strings for battle pets.
The strings now contain all tradeable battle pets that currently exist on the 8.3 PTR.
Enjoy!
