It's time for the latest installment of our cooking series from the
Official Warcraft Cookbook
. Every month or so
Lulaboo
will cook a different Warcraft Cookbook recipe for Wowhead and add her own chef's tips.
Lulaboo

Pesce Mutante all'Acquapazza
Food Origins in WoW
This fun item turns you into either a Pirate or Ninja upon consumption! The recipe,
Ricetta: Pesce Mutante all'Acquapazza
, is a drop from many NPCs in Northern and Southern Barrens.
Back in the day, this consumable had
even more effects
like Fake Death.
The uncooked fish,
Pesce Mutante
, can only be fished up in the Barrens and also has a variety of effects like Shrink and
Ora di Festeggiare!
.
Ingredients
•
Vegetable oil
for frying
•
Tilapia fillets
, cut in half
• Salt and pepper
• 2 cups yellow corn
• ½ cup red bell pepper, diced
• Splash
white wine vinegar
• 6 small
flour tortillas
• ½ cup
tartar sauce
• About 1 cup red cabbage, finely shredded
• Pinch each salt and pepper
For the Batter
• 1½ cups
flour
• ¼ cup
cornstarch
• 1½ cups
buttermilk
• Pinch each salt and cayenne pepper
Directions
1. Pour about an inch of oil into a small frying pan and begin heating over medium heat, to about 300°F. Combine all the ingredients for the batter in a small mixing bowl, whisking together until you have a thick, smooth mixture. Pat dry the fish fillets, and dip into the batter, then gently lower into the hot oil. Let strips of battered fish cook for a minute or two on each side until a nice golden color, then remove to a plate lined with paper towel to drain.
2. In a separate pan, add a dash of oil, then roast the corn and red pepper for a few minutes until they begin to brown, then add the splash of vinegar. Stir for another 30 seconds, and remove from heat.
3. To put together the tacos, spread a dollop of tartar sauce down the middle of a tortilla. Lay one piece of fried fish over that, then top with the corn mixture and cabbage. Serve immediately.
Tips:
• Put seasonings on fish before dipping fish in batter.
• If batter is too dry, add a couple of tablespoons of water or beer, or more buttermilk.

This is one of the basic recipes in World of Warcraft--visit any major cooking trainer to learn it at 75 skill or higher.
Ingredients
• 1 tablespoon
salted butter
• 2
shallots
, minced
• 2
garlic cloves
, minced
• 14 ounces
crabmeat
• 1 cup fresh
bread crumbs
• 2 tablespoons
mayonnaise
• 1 egg
• 2 tablespoons
heavy cream
• 1 tablespoon
flour
• ½ teaspoon
red pepper flakes
• 1 heaping tablespoon
minced parsley
• Salt and pepper, to taste
•
Canola oil
for frying
• Citrus slices, for serving
Directions
1. Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium-low heat. Add the shallots and garlic and cook until soft and fragrant, but not too brown. Remove from heat and transfer to a food processor along with all the remaining ingredients except the canola oil. Pulse several times until no large chunks of crabmeat remain. Scoop out a small handful of the mixture and form into a flat patty; if the mix doesn’t hold together well, add more cream or flour as needed.
2. Heat a thin layer of oil in a frying pan and gently lower several of the crab cakes in. Cook for about 3 minutes, or until the crab cakes are a nice golden color, then flip and cook for another three minutes on the other side. Repeat with the remaining crab cakes. Serve with citrus slices.
Tips:
• Chill crab cakes in the fridge for 30 minutes before frying to make them easier to keep together.

Ingredients
• 1¼ ounces vodka
• 1¼ ounces rum
• ¾ ounce Midori (melon liqueur)
• 1 splash
cranberry juice
• 2 ounces
pineapple juice
• Orange wheel for garnish
Directions
• Mix all ingredients except pineapple juice. Shake vigorously with ice. Strain over ice in highball or hurricane glass. Top with pineapple juice, and garnish with orange wheel.
Tips:
• No Tip, it’s a pretty good drink. Try coconut rum.
