PTR Development Notes - Build 23445 - Tarren Mill vs Southshore

With this week’s build, we’re still focusing largely on stability and the content that was added last week. We’re also opening the first of 7.2’s PvP Brawls – Southshore vs. Tarren Mill. If you were around for our 10th Anniversary Celebration a couple of years ago, you’ll recognize this brawl, but it could use some additional testing to make sure everything’s working properly in the 7.2 environment.

Assuming testing goes well this week, we’re hoping to open up a large amount of 7.2’s major content for testing next week, including:

The Broken Shore (you’re able to see a little bit of what we’re planning currently on the PTR, but there’s a lot more story and systems to come)
New World Quests
New Artifact Traits (including a short quest line to unlock them)
The Legionfall faction
New additions to the Order Hall campaign
Plus several other bits of open-world and/or solo play content

The new dungeon and raid will not be available for testing at that time – that will come later. We’ll share more details as PTR development continues.

Brief update: we've encountered an issue with this build which is preventing us from actually pushing it to the PTR. We're still hoping to get it out this week, but it'll be tomorrow at the earliest.

If you engaged in PvP early on in WoW, you might have fond memories of—and perhaps a few scars from—the endless tug-of-war between Horde and Alliance players at Tarren Mill and Southshore. To recapture that feeling, we’ll be opening a Team Deathmatch–style Battleground based on that timeless struggle. However, unlike the old days of Tarren Mill vs. Southshore, there will be a clearly defined victor, so you’ll need to work as a team or face crushing defeat.

Alture di Colletorto (Riva del Sud contro Mulino di Tarren) is a special battleground for the duration of 10° anniversario di WoW. It is for 40vs40 players and there are two brackets: 90-99 and 100. There are no item level restrictions.

If successful, it may return for future anniversaries.

This is purely a deathmatch battleground.
Killing players makes you go up in rank and the ranks are taken from the original honor system.
The nod to the original honor system is purely cosmetic and it will be just a buff in that instance of the battleground.
Higher ranked players are worth more points when killed. This is a nostalgic nod to the old system. Example: a rank 1 player gives 1 point, a rank 14 player gives 14 points.
There are no additional rewards from this battleground besides the titles.
