Patch 8.1 Zuldazar Raid Updated Boss List (Spoilers) and Upcoming Raid Test

On Monday, October 8th, we will be conducting our first test of the Siege of Zuldazar.

As always, this testing schedule is very fluid and subject to the realities of a test environment. We might have to change the time of a testing session, change the bosses being tested, or cancel a test entirely, due to bugs, server hardware issues, etc. Keep an eye on this forum for the latest information, and thank you in advance for testing and providing feedback.

Q: How do I get into the raid zone?

A: In Zuldazar, Boralus, Dalaran, Orgrimmar, or Stormwind, you may speak to Nexus-Lord Donjon Rade III in order to teleport into the raid zone while it is open for testing. (The option to teleport into a zone will not be available when the zone is not open for testing.)

Q: What character should I use to test the raid?

A: Whichever you prefer. We will be scaling players' effective level to 120 for raid testing, and their item level to an appropriate threshold for the encounter(s) being tested.

Q: How long does testing last?

A: The primary purpose of testing is to give us the information we need to balance the encounters, evaluate how mechanics are playing out in practice, and identify bugs. Once we're satisfied that we've received that information for a given boss, we'll be shutting down testing. Usually this takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, but there are no guarantees.

Raid Updates

Working to cover the main portion of the Alliance fleet as they fell back, a cadre of Stormsong tidepriests have established a blockade and summoned a overwhelming elemental to wash away Zuldazar's port area. Re-establish a foothold on the docks, overrun the alliance ships and return the summoned monstrosity back to the deep before they destroy a large portion of the city.

Overview: Frida empowers herself with various seals, and releases those seals to improve her allies whenever she reaches 100 Energy. Additionally, Frida and her allies work to reduce the size of the battlefield for their enemies, using both [Consecration] and [Wave of Light] to do so. Crusader allies provide additional damage and crowd control for Frida, while disciples heal wounded allies.

Damage Dealers:
Interrupt any cast that you can.
Avoid facing the crusader allies when they cast [Blinding Faith].
Avoid attacking the boss when they are affected by [Seal of Reckoning].
Healers:
[Seal of Retribution] causes the boss's melee attacks to affect all players.
Avoid facing the crusader allies when they cast [Blinding Faith].
Tanks:
Don't let [Sacred Blade] stack too high.
When tanking the adds, react accordingly when one is given a blessing.
Keep the adds moving to avoid them being hit by [Wave of Light].

Zealotry: Fills the caster with the might of the crusade, increasing Holy damage done by 2%. This effect stacks.
Sacred Blade: Imbues the wielder with holy energy, causing melee attacks to inflict additional 4 Holy damage every 2 sec. This effect stacks.
Wave of Light: Releases a wave of holy light towards a friendly target, inflicting 5 Holy damage to all enemies hit. Additionally, Wave of Light heals all allies for 5% of their maximum health every 1 sec when hit. If no allies are present, Wave of Light targets an enemy instead.
Crusader's Seals:
At the beginning of the fight, Frida Ironbellows will cast a seal upon herself, giving her additional abilities and causing her to gain Energy. At 100 Energy, she releases the seal, causing an additional effect.

Release Seal: Releases the caster's current seal's power, causing additional effects based on the seal.
Seal of Retribution: The caster radiates a retributive aura from themselves, increasing damage and healing done for all nearby allies, and causes the caster's attacks to deal holy damage to all enemies. Additionally, any ally killed while this seal is active provides stacks of Zealotry to the wearer.
At 100 energy, the seal is released, giving an ally Righteous Blessing.

Aura of Retribution: Receiving a blessing from a nearby ally's aura, increasing damage done by 15% and healing done by 15%.

Retribution Wave: The caster radiates a retributive aura from themselves, increasing damage and healing done for all nearby allies, and causes the caster's attacks to deal holy damage to all enemies. Additionally, any ally killed while this seal is active provides stacks of Zealotry to the wearer.

Judgment: Righteousness: The caster fills a nearby ally with righteous fury, increase their damage done by 200% and healing done by 150%.

Seal of Reckoning: Provides a reckoning strength to the caster, causing all attacks received from enemies to provide a stack of Zealotry. Additionally, the caster can now cast Reckoning. Enemies affected by Sacred Blade do not generate stacks of Zealotry.
At 100 energy, the seal is released, causing the wearer to cast [Reckoning Bomb].

Call to Arms: Calls for reinforcements, summoning 2 Crusaders and 2 Disciples.
Avenging Wrath: Fills the caster with holy wrath, increasing damage done by 30%.(

Anointed Disciple

Divine Burst: Burns the enemy with divine energy, inflicting 10 Holy damage.
Penance: Launches a volley of holy light at the target, causing 2 Holy damage to an enemy or 2% healing of maximum health to an ally every 1 sec for 5 sec.
Heal: Heals a friendly target.

Darkforged Crusader

Crusader Strike: Strikes the enemy with a weapon imbued with holy energy, inflicting 7 Holy damage.
Blinding Faith: Releases a wave of divine light, disorienting all enemies facing the caster for 5 sec.
Consecration: Summons a patch of holy ground under the caster, inflicting 4 Holy damage to all enemies standing in it. Additionally, Consecration reduces damage taken by the caster by 50%.

Ra'wani Kanae

Ra'wani and her troops are the first line of defense against the Alliance, and are willing to lay down their lives for their city. Working as a cohesive unit, they work together to empower and heal each other while fending off the incoming invaders.

Overview: Ra'wani empowers herself with various seals, and releases those seals to improve her allies whenever she reaches 100 Energy. Additionally, Ra'wani and her allies work to reduce the size of the battlefield for their enemies, using both [Consecration] and [Wave of Light] to do so. Crusader allies provide additional damage and crowd control for Ra'wani, while disciples heal wounded allies.

Healers:

Overview: Players with face off against Ma'ra Grimfang, then Anathos Firecaller, and finally both combatants. As the fight progresses the combatants will perform different Team Attacks in addition to using their individual abilities.

Damage Dealers:
Keep both combatant's health at similar levels to avoid giving Ma'ra too much damage from [Harmonious Spirits].
[Magma Trap] will knock you so high into the air that the fall will kill you.
Spirits of Xuen will [Stalk] a random target until they are defeated.
[Prismatic Shield]
must be damaged down so that you can interrupt [Pyroblast].
During Serene Showers, you are unable to pass through [Rings of Hostility].
[Chi-Ji's Song] blocks targeting into and out of its confines.

Ma'ra Grimfang: Monk who uses her powers of Storm, Earth, and Fire to attack the players with devastating attacks.

Harmonious Spirits: The caster is attuned to the life force of their ally. As the health of their ally gets lower than that of the caster, the caster will become more powerful.
Spinning Crane Kick: The caster whirls in place, sending out waves of jade energy that inflict inflict 10 Nature damage to all players within 100 yards every 1 sec.
This ability persists until the caster is struck in melee combat.
Multi-Sided Strike: The caster knocks their target into the air, and summons a series of Storm, Earth, and Fire images that strike the victim in rapid succession. If the victim fails to face each image's attack they will take 40 Physical damage.

Fireball: Throws a fiery ball that causes Fire damage. The victim is afflicted with Rising Flames.

Rising Flames: Burns the victim for 2 Fire damage every 1 sec. When Rising Flames ends, a Burnout occurs.

Burnout: As the flames burn out a final burst of Fire damage hits all players for 30 Fire damage.

Pyroblast: Throws a massive boulder of super heated fire at the target.

Searing Embers: The caster plants Searing Embers in random enemies that inflict 7 Fire damage every 1 sec. and will explode 35 Fire damage to all enemies upon expiration.

Unleashed Ember: The caster plants Searing Embers in random enemies that inflict 7 Fire damage every 1 sec. and will explode 35 Fire damage to all enemies upon expiration.

Magma Trap: Creates a zone of fiery magma at the location that persists until triggered. Once triggered, all players within 6 yards take 56 Fire damage are knocked into the air.
Victims of the Magma Trap take 100% more damage from future Magma Trap effects.

Team Attacks

Combined Power: As the fight progresses, the combined power of the combatants increases. When their combined power reaches sufficient thresholds the combatants will unleash team attack.
Fire from Mist: When the Combined Power of the combatants reaches 30 power, the duo teams up to summon living bombs shrouded in jade mist. Each bomb will continually blast all players with explosions. The mist prevents targeting into and out of the zone.

Chi-Ji's Song: Calls upon Chi-ji to create zones of mist that will block targeting into and out of the zone. While players stand in the zone, they take 1 Nature damage every 1 sec.
Living Bomb

Explosion: The caster explodes, inflicting 30 Fire damage to all players.
Beam: The caster fires a continual beam in front of it as it rotates. Players caught in the beam suffer 20 Fire damage every 1 sec.

A Flash of Hostility: When the Combined Power of the combatants reaches 60 power, all players are ported to one side of the playspace while the combatants teleport away. Anathos creates a barrier and continually calls down Phoenix Strikes to pelt the area while Ma'ra creates a maze of hostile rings to foil player's passage across the battlefield.
The combatants continually channel their abilities until players break down the barrier and interrupt them.

Ring of Hostility: Creates a zone of hostility at the target location. Players who enter the zone are expelled from the area.
Phoenix Strike: A Phoenix crashes down from the sky, inflicting 30 Fire damage to all players within 6 yards.

The Serpent and the Phoenix: The monk transforms into a jade serpent, and the mage transforms into a phoenix. The transformations persist until the encounter ends.
This ability is used when the combatants reach a combined power level of 100.

Dragon's Breath: Burns all enemies in a cone for 20 Fire damage every 1 sec for 2 sec.
Blazing Phoenix: The caster transforms into a Blazing Phoenix. While transformed, all players suffer 10 Fire damage every 3 sec.

Grong the Revenant

Rending Bite: Grong bites the target, inflicting 3 Physical damage every 1 sec for 12 sec.

Deathly Slam: Grong slams a neaby enemy, inflicting 85 Shadow damage in a 10 yard radius. After a short delay, the area will explode, inflicting 80 Shadow damage and knocking back all enemies in a 10 yard radius.
Ferocious Roar: King Grong releases an earthshaking scream, inflicting 30 Physical damage to all enemies within 80 yards. Any target not standing near an ally is feared for 5 sec.
Death Specter

Voodoo Blast: Death Specters unleash missiles that seek out a target, inflicting 50 Shadow damage in a 10 yard radius. The missiles leaves a patch of deathly energy, inflicting 15 Shadow damage every 1.5 sec to all enemies in the area.
Death Empowerment: The Apetaganizer 3000 shocks Grong, increasing his Rage by 10.
Spirit Dispersion: Upon death the Death Specter explodes, inflicting 25 Shadow damage to all enemies within 15 yards and knocking them back. If Grong is in the blast he gains 50 Rage.
Shadow Core

Discharge Shadow Core: The caster blasts Grong with shadow power, inflicting 5% of his health and triggers him to cast Tantrum immediately.

Apetagonize: The Apetaganizer 3000 shocks Grong, increasing his Rage by 10.
Lightning Detonation: Upon death the Apetaganizer 3000 explodes, inflicting 25 Nature damage to all enemies within 15 yards and knocking them back. If Grong is in the blast he gains 50 Rage.
Apetagonizer Core

Discharge Apetagonizer Core: The caster shocks Grong, inflicting 5% of his health and triggers him to cast Tantrum immediately.

Flamefist and the Illuminated

Living Bomb

Explosion: The caster explodes, inflicting 30 Fire damage to all players.
Beam: The caster fires a continual beam in front of it as it rotates. Players caught in the beam suffer 20 Fire damage every 1 sec.

A Flash of Hostility: When the Combined Power of the combatants reaches 60 power, all players are ported to one side of the playspace while the combatants teleport away. Manceroy creates a barrier and continually calls down Phoenix Strikes to pelt the area while Mestrah creates a maze of hostile rings to foil player's passage across the battlefield.

Six of the most prominent loa are represented here, gaurded by their most devout champions. Any trespasser that dar enter this sacred hall will be met with the fury of Zuldazar's most powerful loa.

Overview: A pair of champions joing the fight at the start of the encounter, while the others observe. These champions must be kept apart to prevent them from receiving [Loa's Pact]. The encounter ends when all the loa's champions are defeated.

Azurethos' Fury: Azurethos gathers the wind in his wings and unleashes a barrage of tornados that move away from him in a spiral pattern.
These tornados inflict 15 Physical damage very 2 sec for 10 sec to players who come into contact with them, and knock them high into the air.
Gale Force: Azurethos' unleashes a massive burst of wind in a line in front of him, inflicting 31 Nature damage to any players caught in the burst and knocking them back extremely far.
Wing Buffet: Inflicts 80 Physical damage to players in a frontal cone, knocking them back and reducing their threat.

Doom's Howl

Doom's Howl was created from stolen Alliance engineering plans. Used to transport hordes of troops into the worst combat conditions, this gigantic vehicle can also transform into a powerful siege platform capable of decimating enemy fortifications.

Overview: Doom's Howl is a mobile war vehicle that switches in and out of a siege mode. While sieged the [Demolisher Cannon] must be avoided while dealing with the War Machine's soldiers.

Damage Dealers:
Interrupt [Battle Field Repair] to stop the Doom's Howl from being healed.
Healers:
Stay spread so less allies are affected by splash damage dealt from [Mortar Shot].
Tanks:
Interrupt [Battle Field Repair] to stop the Doom's Howl from being healed.
Tank Doom's Howl Shieldbearer away from Doom's Howl Engineer, to allow them to be interupted.

Stage: Mobile Battle Vehicle

Shattering Pulse: The caster sends out a shockwave in front of the caster, inflicting 69 Nature damage and knocking back all players within 60 yds.
Mortar Shot: The caster launches multiple mortar shots, each inflicting 44 Fire damage and knocking back all enemies within 8 yds.
Flame Exhausts: Flames erupt from the exhausts under the War Machine, inflicting 7 Fire damage every 1 sec to all nearby enemies.

Stage: Seiged Battle Station

Demolisher Cannon: The cannon fires a missile at a random person, inflicting 29 Fire damage instantly and additional 7 Fire damage every 1 sec for 5 sec.
Everybody Out!: The back doors open, unleashing Doom's Howl Engineers, Doom's Howl Dreadshields and Doom's Howl Warcasters.

Dunegorger Kraulok

Revered by all trolls, but the Zandalari especially, the bones of the giant reptiles of Zandalar dot the landscape. But as dark energies stir beneath the sands, sometimes that which was meant to remain dead, does not. Kraulok walks the sands once again, blinded by rage and the endless agony of his dying moments. Woe to those who find themselves in the beast's path.

Overview: Dunegorger Kraulok goes through periods of rapidly alternating casts of [Sonic Bellow] and [Earth Spike]. Avoid these attacks and press on to victory.

[Earth Spike] damages everyone within 2 yards, and knocks victims up into the air.
Ravenous Ranishu summoned through [Shake Loose] are [Ravenous] and will [Swing Wildly].

Primal Rage: The caster goes into a Primal Rage, unleashing a sequence of devastating attacks.
Shake Loose: The caster shakes the ground, causing several Ravenous Ranishu to spawn nearby.

Ravenous Ranishu

Ravenous: This creature is so hungry it can't control its impulses. With each melee swing there is a chance this creature will seek out a new victim.
Ravage: The caster rakes their claws across the target's flesh, causing them to bleed for 10 sec.
Wild Swings: The caster swings their claws wildly, striking all targets within 5 yards for Physical damage.

Warbringer Yenajz

Dark whispers shroud Stormsong Valley, as rumors of eldritch creatures spread throughout the countryside and families mark their doors with runes from the local scribes. Often dismissed as exaggeration, sometimes housewives' tales fall far short of the true horrors that lurk in the realm beyond our sight.

[Void Nova] inflicts heavy unavoidable damage.
Healers:
Avoid [Reality Tear] as they impact the ground.
Quickly move away from Warbringer Yenajz when he casts [Endless Abyss].
[Void Nova] inflicts heavy unavoidable damage.
Damage Dealers:
Avoid [Reality Tear] as they impact the ground.

Void Nova: Warbringer Yenajz breaches the void, inflicting 39 Shadow damage to all players.
Reality Tear: Reality distorts around Warbringer Yenajz, periodically inflicting 49 Shadow damage and stunning all players within 4 yards of the impact.
Endless Abyss: Warbringer Yenajz pulls all players to him and begins to open a portal to the void, inflicting 125 Shadow damage to all players. The damage of this effect is reduced the further players are from Warbringer Yenajz.

Ivus the Forest Lord

Overview: Ivus the Forest Lord often uses abilities to attack several players at random and will retreat to the safety of his [Petrified Bark] when at low health.

Tanks:
Ivus will cast [Frost Breath] in your direction, leaving a [Frost Patch] on the ground beneath you.
[Lunar Strike] will leave a few clear areas on initial impact before spreading.
Wisps summoned while Ivus is [Petrified] fixate on players at random and cannot be controlled through threat generation.
Healers:
[Hurl Boulder] will hit players at random.
[Lunar Strike] will leave a few clear areas on initial impact before spreading.
Wisps will channel [Ancient Spark] on a random player until they are dispatched.
Damage Dealers:
[Hurl Boulder] hits players at random.
[Lunar Strike] will leave a few clear areas on initial impact before spreading.

Frost Breath: Inflicts Frost damage to all enemies in a cone in front of the caster.

Frost Patch: You take Frost damage every second you remain in the area and your movement speed is reduced by 20%.

Shockwave: The caster slams the ground, sending a shockwave out in front of the caster that inflicts Physical damage to all players caught in its path.
Lunar Strike: The caster calls down the power of the moon at random locations. Each point of impact creates a Lunar Rune that will expand rapidly after a few moments, inflicting Arcane damage to all players caught in the rune.
Petrify: The caster enters a petrified state and calls forth a swarm of wisps to fight for them. While petrified, the caster is immune to all damage.
Defeating all of the wisps will end the petrification effect.

Wisp

Ancient Spark: Blasts the target for Arcane damage.
