Patch 4.2: Two New Hunter Pets, Molten Cats, and Dungeon Journal Interface Changes
09/06/2011 alle 11:02
There are a couple exciting things still left on 4.2's PTR worth checking out, so we've rounded them up here. These topics include two new hunter pets (
following up from Blizzard's original eight they introduced last week
), some new vanity items including a staff that turns you into a molten cat, and a lot of Dungeon Journal changes for functionality and appearance (it's looking very good).
We'll start with the hunter pets first since a lot of you were unimpressed with the five spiders, two spectral cats, and the reskinned owl of last week. Blizzard apparently listened to the masses and decided to add two very cool new models with their own trick for taming them.
Remaining Hunter Pets
Karkin spawns in Fireplume Peak--you'll reach him by jumping off Skitterflame's Ledge. He is a crab with a shiny metallic skin that casts a frontal fire attack from range. Again, you will have to jump between floating rocks to get in range to tame Karkin, but not too close or else you’ll be attacked.
Skarr is a gorgeous black cat with glowing eyes who is also located on various floating rocks in Fireplume Peak. He starts off hitting weak, but hits harder over time. The trick is to tame him from another floating island. You will need to be good at jumping as flying mounts are not allowed on the Molten Front.
More Firelands Vanity Items
Last week, we covered
several new vanity
items. However, there were a couple more we couldn't preview at the time, some of which are very awesome:
Alabarda Ardente di Fandral
drops from Majordomo Staghelm and it turns you into a molten cat through
Forma Felina delle Fiamme
if you're in
during combat. A lot of us were hoping they would reuse that model, so it's great they put it on an item every Feral druid will aspire to obtain!
Pianta Sferzante Cremisi
costs , available from
. It is obtainable only after completing
Riempire il Pozzo Lunare
. Ayla also sells
for . This chair is quite literally a mushroom chair—perfect for fishing.
Each of the vendor trinkets have a unique and cool vanity effect attached to its on use:
Calice di Pozzo Lunare
creates a beam from a moonwell linked to you,
Tronco di Dwyre
tosses a tree at the ground,
Palla di Fuoco Magnetica di Ricket
creates a sphere of flame around your character, and
Fiala di Pozzo Lunare
splashes water around you for its duration.
If you miss throwing bears from the dailies, check out
Cucciolo d'Orso di Hyjal
for . It is purchased from
Richiamo degli Antichi
. You can also purchase
Richiamo di Mylune
from Varlan for ; this item summons beautiful animals, butterflies, and flowers for five minutes.
10 times will award you
L'"imbattibile" Pterodattilo? BATTUTO!
. Inside will be the
other mini jouster
you did not choose upon completing
Ondata di uova
