October 18th Battle for Dazar'alor Horde Story Encounter Raid Testing

Harmonious Spirits: The caster is attuned to the life force of their ally. As the health of their ally gets lower than that of the caster, the caster will become more powerful.
Spinning Crane Kick: The caster whirls in place, sending out waves of jade energy that inflict inflict 10 Fire damage to all players within 100 yards every 1 sec.
This ability persists until the caster is struck in melee combat.
Multi-Sided Strike: The caster knocks their target into the air, and summons a series of Storm, Earth, and Fire images that strike the victim in rapid succession. If the victim fails to face each image's attack they will take 60 Physical damage.

Successful Defense: The caster knocks their target into the air, and summons a series of Storm, Earth, and Fire images that strike the victim in rapid succession. If the victim fails to face each image's attack they will take 60 Physical damage.
Tested: Your ordeal with the monk's images has left you vulnerable to Physical damage. For the next 40 sec. you take 100 more Physical damage.

Spirits of Xuen: The caster summons Spirits of Xuen to chase down a random player. (Heroic, Mythic)

Tiger Paw: The caster strikes the target for 30 Nature damage. (Heroic, Mythic)
Pounce: Strikes all targets within 5 yards for 20 Nature damage. (Heroic, Mythic)

Manceroy Flamefist: Fire mage who uses the power of fire to attack his enemies.

Fireball: Throws a fiery ball that causes Fire damage. The victim is afflicted with Rising Flames.

Rising Flames: Burns the victim for 6 Fire damage every 1 sec. When Rising Flames ends, a Burnout occurs.

Burnout: As the flames burn out a final burst of Fire damage hits all players for 30 Fire damage. Burnout's damage is increased based on the number of applications of Rising Flames that triggered the burnout.

Pyroblast: Throws a massive boulder of super heated fire at the target.

In Mythic difficulty, this ability instantly kills the victim.

Prismatic Shield: Applies a shield to the caster that will absorb the next 100 damage taken.

Searing Embers: The caster plants Searing Embers in random enemies that inflict 7 Fire damage every 1 sec. and will explode 35 Fire damage to all enemies upon expiration.
Dispelling this effect early prevents the explosion.

Unleashed Ember: The caster plants Searing Embers in random enemies that inflict 7 Fire damage every 1 sec. and will explode 35 Fire damage to all enemies upon expiration.

Magma Trap: Creates a zone of fiery magma at the location that persists until triggered. Once triggered, all players within 6 yards take 56 Fire damage are knocked into the air.
Victims of the Magma Trap take 100% more damage from future Magma Trap effects. (Heroic, Mythic)

Team Attacks

Combined Power: As the fight progresses, the combined power of the combatants increases. When their combined power reaches sufficient thresholds the combatants will unleash team attack.
Fire from Mist: When the Combined Power of the combatants reaches 30 power, the duo teams up to summon living bombs shrouded in jade mist. Each bomb will continually blast all players with explosions. The mist prevents targeting into and out of the zone.

Chi-Ji's Song: Calls upon Chi-ji to create zones of mist that will block targeting into and out of the zone. While players stand in the zone, they take 1 Nature damage every 1 sec.
Living Bomb

Explosion: The caster explodes, inflicting 18 Fire damage to all players.
Beam: The caster fires a continual beam in front of it as it rotates. Players caught in the beam suffer 20 Fire damage every 1 sec.

A Flash of Hostility: When the Combined Power of the combatants reaches 60 power, all players are ported to one side of the playspace while the combatants teleport away. Manceroy creates a barrier and continually calls down Phoenix Strikes to pelt the area while Mestrah creates a maze of hostile rings to foil player's passage across the battlefield.
The combatants continually channel their abilities until players break down the barrier and interrupt them.

In Heroic Difficulty, only one of the barrier's weak points is attackable unless a player uses a Force Orb to make the other points attackable.

In Mythic Difficulty, none of the barrier's weak points are attackable until players use a Force Orb to make each weak point attackable. Additionally, a sprit of Niuzao will chase the players through the maze.

Ring of Hostility: Creates a zone of hostility at the target location. Players who enter the zone are expelled from the area.
Phoenix Strike: A Phoenix crashes down from the sky, inflicting 30 Fire damage to all players within 6 yards.
Force Orb: Pick up the Force Orb. If you successfully carry it across the battlefield you can use this orb to allow your allies to attack another one of the weakpoints in the barrier. (Heroic, Mythic)
Path of Niuzao: A Spirit of Niuzao pursues players through the maze of Rings of Hostility. The spirit leaves behind images that continually trample players near them for 40 Physical damage. (Mythic)

The Serpent and the Phoenix: The monk transforms into a jade serpent, and the mage transforms into a phoenix. The transformations persist until the encounter ends.
This ability is used when the combatants reach a combined power level of 100.

Dragon's Breath: Burns all enemies in a cone for 20 Fire damage every 1 sec for 2 sec.

Overview: Working to cover the main portion of the Alliance fleet as they fell back, a cadre of Stormsong tidepriests have established a blockade and summoned a overwhelming elemental to wash away Dazar'alor's port area. Re-establish a foothold on the docks, overrun the alliance ships and return the summoned monstrosity back to the deep before they destroy a large portion of the city.

Tanks:
Taunt swap between [Sundering Slam] and [Heavy Blow] to avoid one tank taking too much damage
Interrupt [Tidal Empowerment] when you can.
Use [Kelp-Wrapped Fists] to slow Energizing Storms.
Healers:
[Heavy Blow] deals heavy tank damage and needs healing support.
If affected by [Tempting Song], try to position yourself as far away from the Siren as possible.
Avoid tornadoes created by [Cross Stream].
Damage Dealers:
Move around if affected by [Frozen Tides].
If affected by [Tempting Song], try to position yourself as far away from the Siren as possible.
Avoid tornadoes created by [Cross Stream].
Use [Storm's Curse] to remove [Freezing Tidepools].

Empowering the storm:
Throughout the course of the fight, Laminaria receives energy from various sources. When Laminaria reaches 100 Energy, [Catastrophic Tides] is cast.

Catastrophic Tides: Brings the fury of the sea down on all the caster's enemies, instantly killing them.

Stage One: Storm the Ships

Sister Katherine

Voltaic Flash: Calls upon lightning to whip across the deck of the ship, inflicting 80 Nature damage to all players caught in its paths.
Crackling Lightning: Calls down a bolt of lightning at a target's location, inflicting 15 Nature to all players within 6 yards of the impact point. After Crackling Lightning is cast, Thunderous Boom is cast at the same location.

Thunderous Boom: Sends a cacophonous sound wave in all directions, silencing all players. Being further from epicenter reduces the length of the silence.

Tidal Shroud: Wraps the caster in a watery shield, absorbing 200 damage and making the wearer immune to interrupts.(
After casting [Tidal Shroud], each tidepriest will cast [Tidal Empowerment].)geted, move away from the group, and move away from other players who are targeted!

Tidal Empowerment: Empowers Laminaria, increasing its Energy by 1 every 3 sec.

Jolting Volley: Fires bolts of crackling lightning at all nearby players, inflicting 15 Nature damage.
Mark of the Storm: Being close to Sister Katherine attunes you to her magic, increasing the damage taken from her spells by 20% for 30 sec. This effect stacks. (Mythic)
Soul of the Tidepriest: When either Tidepriest Joseph or Tidepriestess Katherine die, their souls appear and begin channeling [Greater Tidal Empowerment] on Laminaria. When both Tidepriests are dead, their souls depart.

Greater Tidal Empowerment: Empowers Laminaria, increasing its Energy by 5 every 2 sec.

Brother Joseph

Sea Storm: Summons a series of freezing storms at players' locations, inflicting 15 Frost damage to all players within 5 yards of the impact point. A is left at the location, continuously inflicting 10 Frost damage every 1 sec to all nearby players and reducing their movement speed by 50%.
Sea's Temptation: Summons a Tempting Siren to assist the tidepriest.

Tempting Siren

Tempting Song: Tempts a nearby player, causing them to walk towards the caster. If the target reaches their destination, they jump off the ship. Tempting Song also inflicts 8 Nature damage every 1 sec.

Tidal Shroud: Wraps the caster in a watery shield, absorbing 200 damage and making the wearer immune to interrupts.(

Translocation Pedestal: Teleports the user to the other ship. If both Tidepriestess Katherine and Tidepriest Joseph are dead, the user is teleported back to the docks instead.

Stage Two: Laminaria

Kelp-Wrapped Fists: Melee attacks apply Kelp-Wrapped, inflicting 3 Nature damage every 1 sec and reducing movement speed by 2%. This effect stacks. Upon expiration, causes Kelp Wrapping to everyone nearby.

Kelp Wrapping: Wraps all nearby creatures in debilitating kelp, increasing damage taken by 10%. This effect stacks on non-players. The intensity of the damage increase is increased based on the number of stacks of Kelp-Wrapped the player had when it expired.

Sea Swell: The sea rises up, inflicting 6 Frost damage to each player and their allies within 4 yards. Additionally, a Freezing Tidepool is created at each location.

Freezing Tidepool: Creates a pool of freezing waters, inflicting 30 Frost damage every 1 sec to all players standing in it.

Ire of the Deep: A watery hand appears and slams down on the ground, inflicting 150 Frost damage, split evenly between all players hit by the attack. If no players are present, all players take 80 Frost damage, and multiple Freezing Tidepools are created.
Storm's Wail: Overcharges a player, inflicting 10 Nature damage every 1 sec for 10 sec. Upon expiration, an Energized Storm is created.
While affected by Storm's Wail, Freezing Tidepools can be absorbed. (Normal, Raid Finder)

On Thursday, October 18th and Friday, October 19th we will be conducting raid tests of the Battle of Dazar'alor. Once Heroic raid testing has concluded on Friday, we will open a portion of the zone for Normal raid testing over the weekend.

Due to the faction specific setup of Battle of Dazar'alor, Thursday's raid test will be HORDE ONLY and Friday's Heroic raid test will be ALLIANCE ONLY. Copying a character to PTR will apply a faction transfer that can be used at your discretion. Please ensure that your character is setup for the appropriate faction prior to the test.

As always, this testing schedule is very fluid and subject to the realities of a test environment. We might have to change the time of a testing session, change the bosses being tested, or cancel a test entirely, due to bugs, server hardware issues, etc. Keep an eye on this forum for the latest information, and thank you in advance for testing and providing feedback.

Q: How do I get into the raid zone?

A: In Zuldazar, Boralus, Dalaran, Orgrimmar, or Stormwind, you may speak to Nexus-Lord Donjon Rade III in order to teleport into the raid zone while it is open for testing. (The option to teleport into a zone will not be available when the zone is not open for testing.)

Q: What character should I use to test the raid?

A: Whichever you prefer. We will be scaling players' effective level to 120 for raid testing, and their item level to an appropriate threshold for the encounter(s) being tested.

Q: How long does testing last?

A: The primary purpose of testing is to give us the information we need to balance the encounters, evaluate how mechanics are playing out in practice, and identify bugs. Once we're satisfied that we've received that information for a given boss, we'll be shutting down testing. Usually this takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, but there are no guarantees.
Conclave of the Chosen is the proper name for the Loa Council fight.
