Today we're taking a break from 6.2 coverage to highlight some of the recent new site features the Wowhead team has launched! We highlighted our
transmog set revamp with images for all races
a few weeks ago, and today we have improvements for item recommendations and stat weights, video submissions, and Asian realm support for the Profiler.
Patron users can now also customize the front-page sidebar--you can move Today in Draenor up to the top of the page!

Customizable Front Page Sidebar
First up, we have a new feature for our
Patron users
! The sidebar on Wowhead's front page is now entirely customizable.
Use the up and down arrows on each sidebar feature to change their position! Your preferences will be saved to your browser.
You can move around the following areas on the sidebar:
Latest Blizzard News - 3 recent articles featuring Blue Posts
Today in Draenor - all region-wide daily quests and WoW Token prices
Popular Pages - most popular Achievement, Battle Pet, Faction, Follower, Mount, and Toy visited in our database in the past week.
Blue Tweets - significant Tweets from our Blue Tweet Tracker
Warlords Information - quick links to introductory Warlords of Draenor guides
Blue Tracker - links to recent Blizzard posts
Latest News - links to recent Wowhead posts
Featured Guides - four user and staff guides selected from our Guides section
News by Tags - lets you filter news categories easily

Item Recommendations
With a new raid tier coming in 6.2, we've refined our item tools to make gear and upgrades easier to find:
We've created a simple page that tells you if an item is an upgrade or not. Just enter in two items, select your class, and average item level for stat weights, and the tool will tell you Yes or No, provide a summary of your stat priorities, and link to a guide for your class.
This tool also includes basic support for DPS trinkets with procs, which is an improvement over our straight filters on /items.
You can access this feature by going to Tools > Item Recommendations or clicking on "Quick Compare" in Quick Facts on any item's page.

To power this feature, we've also made some improvements to our filters on /items.
When selecting
Stat Weights
on /items, we offer preset versions tailored to ilvl 630, ilvl 670, ilvl 685, and ilvl 700 gear.
If you filter by stat weights for a particular slot, we now include additional item variations in our ranked results--Warforged, extra sockets, and the best random stat combo for crafted gear.
If you click on the "Find Upgrades" button on an item's page, this takes you directly to a list of ranked items for a particular spec that includes all the additional item variations.
We recently added the option for users to "Pin" a character via the Profiler and get notifications if an item is an upgrade or not as they browse gear pages!

Video Submissions
As you may have noticed on popular achievement pages like
Mega Velocicottero: Oro
, we've enabled user video submissions. Simply link to a video in your comment and it will be entered into a submission queue.
Past videos, such as the popular one on
Leorajh
, have automatically been added to the Video tab.
Asian Realm Support
We've added support for Korean, Chinese, and Taiwan realms to the
Profiler
,
Planner
, and
Battle Pet Calculator
. When you input your character into these tools, you can do the following:
The
Profiler
provides a summary of your gear and tracks all of your collections (mounts, pets, achievements, etc). It then lets you show your collection progress across Wowhead in tooltips and searches. Learn more

recommends gear upgrades, achievements, and content you'd be interested in completing. Learn more
