How to Tame a Shadow of Dambala - The Night Fae Exclusive Hunter Pet With a Unique Skin

The
Ombra di Dambala
is a type of Serpent with a unique, purple shadow appearance. It is tameable, and retains its original name after taming. It also appears only once - during the Night Fae campaign quest

.
For this reason, this pet is exclusive to Night Fae Hunters. The quest this Serpent appears is part of the storyline that becomes available after achieving a Renown level of 8:

. If you've already completed

, don't worry, there is still a way to tame one of these beasts - as long as you're still Night Fae. For more details, read on below, but be aware that there are some (very mild) quest spoilers in the instructions.
In the second phase of the quest
Purificare la foresta
, you will face
Dambala
. During the fight, he will summon multiple
Ombra di Dambala
which can be tamed. The quest involves being transformed into a
Cervo delle Rune Maestoso
, so you will need to turn back. As
Dambala
hits quite hard, you may need to use
Aspetto della Tartaruga
to survive the tame.
If you have already completed this quest, you can still tame the beast, as long as you're Night Fae and can find a friend who hasn't completed the quest yet. Ask them to invite you to a party and enable party sync, which will allow you to repeat quests. If they're already on
Purificare la foresta
, you might need to go pick it up for yourself before
Dambala
shows up at all - the quest marker should appear on your map. Once you've completed phase one of the quest, you will be sent to the area where
Dambala
spawns. Taming a
Ombra di Dambala
is a lot easier with friends, as they can keep the boss occupied while you snag your purple snake. Just make sure the snake you're taming is aggroing you if you don't want the tame to break.
Note: As this creature only appears during a phased event, you do have to be in a party and have party sync enabled to see the
Ombra di Dambala
at all. Your friend does
not
have to be a Hunter for this to work. And if you're Night Fae and find yourself on this quest, consider helping your local Hunters out by creating a group in the group finder!
