One of the biggest player grievances that players have with the Maw is the fact that mounts are not usable within the zone, with only a
selection of Shadehound mounts
usually working there. However, in Patch 9.1, you will be able to ride all mounts in the Maw! You will be able to ride all your mounts there during the second portion of the Chains of Domination questline,

Shortly after you enter Korthia for the very first time, you will encounter the attendants responsible for the City of Secrets, and in the quest

, your anima will be analyzed. This will awake the power of the Maw Walker within you, allowing your mounts to answer your call once more! As an added effect, the power of the True Maw Walker
allows entry into the Perdition Hold and Beastwarrens portions of The Maw without requiring grinding reputation with Ve'nari
.
Currently, this effect is NOT account-wide, which means all characters you wish to do more Maw exploration with must start the 9.1 questline and find their way to Korthia. Even then, you might still want to earn at least one of the Shadehound mounts, as these are still useful for alts starting out in the Shadowlands - These mounts do work on the Maw introduction questline.
