Exploring Azmerloth, the Alternate Timeline where Murlocs Rule

In Thaldraszus, the zone where the Bronze Dragonflight makes its home, one of our favorite questlines has us briefly travel to Azermloth, an alternative past where Murlocs seem to reign supreme!
WARNING: DRAGONFLIGHT STORY SPOILERS AHEAD!
Azmerloth
When we visit Azmerloth, we find ourselves in an alternative version of Dragonblight. The map is familiar, but the names on the map have a distinctive Murloc theme: For example, Galakron'd Rest is "Glrlurglokr" while New Hearthglen is "Mgl Fllrkr"
We find the Murlocs are dealing with their own world's version of Deathwing, "Deathwingurlugull", and are led by their own versions of Varian Wrynn (Varian Wryngrrlgulgll, Finduin Wryngrrlgulgll - a version of Anduin - by his side) and Thrall (Thrallgrulgulgul).
Mrglgulglrrlglgul! Grurguglullgurl! Gruglrlgllrugl rrgulgrulgrgl grugll gurgull gur. Murgllgllrugl gurgllglrl Murgul gruggullgl. Murguglegurgllgur gurgll gurgulgul guruulgurllgr guuglrllgl.
Mgrgulllglll gurl gugll.
<You aren't certain what's being said, but there are lots of stabbing motions. It seems like this murloc wants you to kill something.>
Other Murloc versions of heroes from our own version of Azeroth can be found throughout the zone: Vrglrok Saurfin (Varok Saurfang), Tyrggrln Webbedring (Tirion Fordring), Baine Blrrgfin (Baine Bloodhoof), and Gillvanas (Sylvanas).
What's more, many Murlocs that we know from our own Azeroth can also be found. Mmmrrrggglll, Old Murk-Eye, "Captain" Cookie", Murkdeep, and Grrvrgull the Conqueror are all villains in our timeline, but in Azmerloth they're heroes!
In a
continuing trend in Dragonflight
, we're also seeing more and more Hearthstone characters appear. Sir Finley Mrrgglton was originally a character from Hearthstone, though he's shown up in our Azeroth as well. Sefin is also from Hearthstone, a Murloc play on the members of the SI:7, Stormwind's secret service.
When it came to helping with the attack on "Deathwingurlugull" the pilot of our plane was Amrrgla Grglllhrrt, a reference to
Amilya Airheart
, who is, in turn, a reference to the famous pilot Amelia Earhart! (Note: We tested this on a Horde character - it's possible that the pilot is different for Alliance.)
Finally, one of the rewards for the quests in this area is the
Heart of Azmerloth
, a play on our own
Heart of Azeroth
. The flavor text on this item reads, "Mr mrglrl grmrrr lr mrlg, murlg mr gll mulrlgll glr a mrrl murglt. Glr mrmr ml Azmerloth mrll gr mrlged gl mll murloc." which, we're sure you'll agree, really makes an impression about the importance of this amulet.
