Entering a Covenant Sanctum While Not Part of That Covenant Gets You Kicked Out

Currently in the Shadowlands Alpha, the Venthyr Covenant campaign is able to be tested, which means you are able to pledge yourself to the Covenant. For more information about each Covenant, check our Covenant Overviews!

discovered that attempting to enter Covenant Sanctum areas while not part of that covenant will get you swiftly kicked out. In this clip, MrGM is pledged to the Venthyr Covenant and attempts to enter the Elysian Hold area in Bastion, immediately getting stunned by
Esilio
and then teleported out of Elysian Hold, ending up in the nearest graveyard in Bastion.
This works similarly to certain Order Halls from Legion - You were not able to access certain locations if you were not a player of that Order Hall's specific class (Ebon Hold flying over the Broken Shore for Death Knights, The Dreamgrove in Val'sharah for Druids, Trueshot Lodge in Highmountain for Hunters, Sanctum of Light in Eastern Plaguelands for Paladins, Hall of Shadows in the sewers of Dalaran for Rogues).
The covenant sanctum areas that become inaccessible if you are not part of the specific covenant are listed below. It is worth noting that the Covenant Sanctum areas consist of a very small portion of the zone and are usually out of the way enough to not interfere with gameplay if you are not part of that Covenant.
Bastion: Elysian Hold, if you aren't a Kyrian
Maldraxxus: Seat of the Primus, if you aren't a Necrolord
Ardenweald: Heart of the Forest, if you aren't a Night Fae
Revendreth: Sinfall, if you aren't a Venthyr
Currently this is one of the only discovered limitations you get after pledging yourself to a Covenant. A couple builds ago, it was discovered that
Battle Pets obtained via Covenants can not be summoned if you are not part of that Covenant
, thanks to a newly added command string.
It is currently unknown if this restriction will be applied to battling with them.
