Diablo IV New Details: Paragon Board Cap, 35-Hour Long Campaign, Unlockable Difficulties
9 giorni fa
Following the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, the development team took part in interviews with
. Game Director Joe Shely and the Diablo Franchise General Manager Rod Fergusson answered questions and talked about a wide variety of topics regarding DIablo IV.
Diablo IV Quarterly Update June 2022 Diablo IV Content Overview
Leveling Process in Diablo IV
When being asked about player choice, part of the answer contained information about the length of the campaign, which is supposed to be a 35-hour long experience. This answers one of the longest standing questions about the length of the leveling process the Diablo community had since the reveal of the game in 2019.

And then that idea of player choice permeates the open-world of the game as well. You're able to travel anywhere in the world, make decisions about what you want to do, whether you want to pursue the campaign, which is a 35-hour experience that is just brimming with story and characters that are really human and you can really connect with on an emotional level. We've worked really hard on the campaign in Diablo 4 and we're really proud of how it's developing.
Max Level and Endgame in Diablo IV
Following a question regarding endgame content, the answer from Diablo IV's Game Director was filled with new details. He estimates that your character will be around level 45 once the campaign is completed. Joe Shely then revealed that the character level will go to 100 through Paragon points.
There is also the mention of world tiers to have the world increase in difficulty. To unlock those, you will need to complete a dungeon to gain access to the more difficult content.

We know that it's fun to build your character and discover all these powerful builds. And we also think it's really important to have content to test yourself against. So we've really tried to expand the variety of activities. And as Rod said, the game, when you finish the campaign, you might be level 45 or something. Your character level goes up to a hundred through Paragon points. And you get access to whispers, you get access to Nightmare dungeons, other endgame activities that we're still working on. We really wanted you to have a wide variety of things to do. And of course, you've got world tiers that are allowing you to step up the keep, make sure that the difficulty of the world stays on pace with the power of your character level. And to unlock those, you actually need to prove to complete a dungeon to access that more difficult content. So it goes back to the idea of making a build, making it powerful, and then testing yourself against some challenge.
Finite Paragon Progression System in Diablo IV
When talking about the lessons that were learned from previous games, Game Director Joe Shely said that Diablo IV's Paragon Board will be capped instead of being infinite like the Paragon system in Diablo III was, confirming what was already believed to be the case. This will be a big relief for many people in the Diablo community. As we know, the Paragon Board will unlock after reaching level 50. Combined with the information that the level will rise to 100 through Paragon points, each character will have a total of 200 or 201 Paragon points (depends if you get a Paragon point after unlocking the Paragon Board at level 50) to spend at level 100 (you gain 1 Paragon point every 25% of a level; 4 Paragon points in total per level) to customize their path in the Paragon Board system.

And I think there are lots of ways that we've looked at lessons learned from previous games too. You know, Paragon is capped.

World Bosses in Diablo IV
During the IGN video interview, Joe Shely also talked about world bosses, revealing that there will be three different world bosses available at launch. Two of those have been revealed so far: Ashava and the Treasure Beast.
We make these enormous bosses that, even though we pull the camera out, fill the whole screen and they are just wreaking havoc everywhere. You can see the Treasure Beast in the video we just saw. Who is one of our three world bosses at launch. They appear in the world on the map.
