The time has come! Lead Designer Ben Brode has released a video detailing Blizzard's reasoning behind inconsistency in card text!
"There are some cards in Hearthstone that are not wildly consistent," Brode begins, "I'm actually not sure that that's a problem." He of course discusses and , but he also explains how users can more accurately predict these interactions prior to silencing them. That said, the development team obviously has to weigh changing the card versus simply establishing consistency for the future. Among the community, appears to be what most think the standard should be moving forward.
