Gaff cards are for magicians to use with card tricks. So the alternate Ace card is intended for that purpose, but useless to anyone using the deck for gaming or cartomancy.

It wasn't until I had finished all the artwork for this deck that I discovered the practice of cartomancy - a form of divination older than tarot where playing cards can be used as a form of storytelling or divination.

Intrigued by cartomancy, I spent many a night reading about it, and the card meanings almost organically found their way into this booklet.
