20/09/2012 alle 13:31
With Mists of Pandaria a week away, we're excited to bring you some interviews covering the expansion!
Wowhead interviewed Dave Kosak, Lead Quest Designer, this past week. Mists of Pandaria has a lot of exciting lore developments, not to mention quirky exploration details like rare spawns dropping vanity loot and treasure chests hidden around the world. Plus the new legendary questline is innovative--it will spawn several content patches and has rewards for every class. Read on to learn about how these features were developed!
Our friends at TankSpot also interviewed Ion Hazzikostas, Lead Encounter Designer. Lore spoke with Ion about Tier 14 raids, Blizzard's plans for Legendaries in future patches, Challenge Modes, Scenarios, Proving Grounds, and more!

Mists of Pandaria: Quest and Dungeon Weapons Preview
18/08/2012 alle 13:08
We're continuing our visual previews of Mists of Pandaria weapons today with a look at 3D models of quest and dungeon weapons! Check out our PvP post for a look at all the PvP weapon models and click on the images to view them in our Flash 3D Modelviewer.
Models are still being assigned to beta weapons and some color variations may not make it to live, but you can use the View 3D option on all Mists of Pandaria weapon pages to see what a particular weapon looks like in the latest beta build. Right now, there aren't any parallels between weapon stats and model colors, like there are with some armor sets.

We also have a news round up: the most interesting part is that the daily quest cap will be removed in Mists, but there's also class feedback for Paladins, Shamans, and Warlocks, as well as thoughts on different generations of gamers enjoying WoW.
Daily Quest Cap
Current plan is to remove the daily quest cap completely for ship. Just like what you see in the beta now. We literally have 100's of daily quests at level 90 and we want to make sure that players can pick and choose what they want to do.Not really. We honestly think it would be worse to actually r

19/04/2012 alle 15:33
In Mists of Pandaria, both vanity pets and quests are having some pretty major additions! The pet battle system and the dynamic questing have recently gotten some love from Wowhead.
Our database now has pet battle data!
We also discovered that all pets have a type and that type has a passive (racial). For example, Undead pets come back to life after they're defeated!
Critters break out of crowd control effects more quickly.
Beasts deal 25% extra damage below half health.
Humanoids recover 2% of their maximum health every time they attack.
Deals 50% additional damage to targets with less than 25% health.
Mists of Pandaria: Valley of the Four Winds

Valle dei Quattro Venti
,a zone for level 86+ players to quest in, is the heartland of Pandaria.
It's the center for

Check out the fun vanity rewards from questing.
There's numerous rare spawn NPCs in the zone as well that drop fun items.
We have a visual preview below as well as a Blizzard Q&A about the zone.
Don't forget, you can check out the zone page to see all the NPCs and quests!
Thunderfoot Acres, Pang's Stead, Thunderfoot Farm, Thunderfoot Ranch, Grassy Cline, Shang's Stead, Mudmug's Place
Players begin questing in the eastern part of the zone--meeting up with retired farmers, NPCs from Chun Tian Monastery, and Chen Stormstout and his impatient niece Li Li. As you quest through the zone, the four NPCs from the monastery will show up in other parts, each on their own quest to discover a secret in the Valley of the

03/03/2012 alle 09:08
Our Transmog database contains quest sets from each expansion. Some of these items are only from one quest in the game--better to discover a set you like now, instead of after you've vendored that unique quest reward!
This guide covers all of the quest transmog sets in the game. They're organized by expansion and armor type with information on how to acquire them and basic colors. Plus, you can mouseover each set to see what it looks like!

Questing in Cataclysm: The Best Quests and Rewards
27/11/2011 alle 14:38
With a bit of a break this holiday weekend, it's time for an old-fashioned quirky guide--this time on quests and fun quest rewards.
Around a year ago, the revamped 1-60 content was unveiled, providing players with a fresh way to complete Loremaster! While most everyone is focused on the end-game now, sadly only viewing quests as Molten Front dailies, there's many interesting quests and rewards along the way. With 4.3 on the horizon, take some time before the chaos starts up again to check out some of the following quests. From silly to serious, you'll learn a bit about Azeroth's lore and collect some unique rewards along the way.
The first table covers interesting quest chains (by no means a complete list!), organized by continent. The second table covers quirky quest rewards--gear, pets, mounts, fun trinkets, consumables, disguises, and more! (Disclaimer: mild spoilers.)
Some old favorites were removed in Cataclysm--from small chains like saving Trey Lightforge in Felwood, to epic chains like Fallen Hero of the Horde. But there's still something for everyone, whether you're interested in completing Loremaster or just want a fun
4.3 Preview: Darkmoon Faire and Rogue Legendary Quests
30/09/2011 alle 14:21
We have two exciting previews for you today and they both focus on the same content: quests in 4.3. For the first part, we've organized the Darkmoon Faire quests into tables, so you can see what kind of dailies and others you'll be doing during the festivities. We've also included their achievement, so you can see how they factor into achievements.
The second half is the rogue legendary preview--showing the initial quests you'll do. These are awesome and very much based on the class, but you'll have to jump down below to see what Perculia, our resident rogue, thinks! I just play a paladin, after all.

Harvest Festival Begins (Sept. 6th - 13th)
06/09/2011 alle 13:10
Sagra del Raccolto
is a small celebration to honor the fallen heroes of the Horde and Alliance. This year it runs from September 6th through the 13th, transforming the outside of Orgrimmar and Ironforge into feasts. While overall the holiday has few rewards and is an extremely minor world event, any change of scenery is a good thing--especially one that leads right up to Brewfest!
Festive tables full with food can be found outside of Orgrimmar and Ironforge, from which players can have their fill of food and drink as they celebrate the memory of their faction's fallen champions. You can hold up to 20 of each of these foods, and they do not expire, so they make great meals for alts!
Pane del Raccolto
Pesce del Raccolto
Cinghiale del Raccolto
Nettare del Raccolto
Honoring a Hero
There is only one short quest chain available during the Harvest Festival, with both Horde and Alliance versions, and you pick it right up where the festival is taking place. For this quest, you are sent to show respect to one of your faction's most honored heroes--Grom Hellscream for members of the Horde and Uther Lightbringer for members of the Alliance. Miyari took the time to write up a brief quest gui
New Dev Watercooler Blog: Content for the Casual 85
08/06/2011 alle 11:24
This new dev watercooler blog covers casual content for 85s. As we've covered in recent posts, there's a ton of content to do even if you don't raid with Firelands coming out: dailies, epic questlines, new achievements and zones. Blizzard has created great quest hubs and events that tie into the current plotlines before--Isle of Quel'Danas, the war efforts for Ahn'Qiraj, the Argent Tournament dailies to name a few--and now we get to read a dev's perspective on Firelands.
As this is my first dev watercooler, I thought some introductions would be in order. I'm the lead quest designer for World of Warcraft, but many of you may already be familiar with my writing and webcomics under the pen-name "Fargo" from years past. To all my new and old friends: Hello! I hope to have the opportunity for more chats like this in between cramming our game full of epic experiences capable of melting your frontal lobes with pure liquefied awesome. (It says that on my business card.)
I'm 85. Now What?
World of Warcraft has a pretty big footprint: we try to create a world that appeals to casual and hardcore players alike. There's a whole body of players -- be t
Patch 4.2: Elemental Bonds Quest Preview
22/05/2011 alle 11:16
The Elemental Bonds questline is finally up on the PTR and we've taken the liberty of doing it all so you can spoil yourselves silly. As a point of note, this questline is the main lore point behind 4.2 and it features both the villains as well as the heroes of
Terre del Fuoco
As the Blizzard preview teased, this quest chain focuses on Aggra and Thrall both as lovers and heroes trying to save the world. Having seen it in-depth, we can confirm that it focuses on both traditional and nontraditional enemies; as much of the questline is Thrall overcoming his fears and desires as a mortal being with limited time on Azeroth as it is fighting elementals.\r
To help showcase this truly epic quest, we've compiled a YouTube video of all the scenes from start to finish and we also wrote up more in-depth guide. You can find both in this post.\r
However, if you don't want to be spoiled, close this page now. Even the comments will probably be rife with debate or speculation on this quest chain and its implementation, outcome, and so on. In short, it's not our fault if you spoil yourselves. We've warned you.\r
