30/03/2011 alle 23:54
HUGE update the the PTR 4.1 Patch Notes today, including some moderate class changes (including some revisions to previous Arcane

Notable changes include:

Bind to Battle.net Account Heirloom Items Coming in 4.1?
30/03/2011 alle 19:11
We were taking a peek at some of the awesome Heirloom items we discovered in today's PTR patch and noticed a majorly interesting detail: heirlooms will now Bind to Battle.net account! It seems that this feature has been added not only to the newly added heirlooms but to all previously implemented heirloom items as well! We have absolutely no idea how transferring these items between characters on different servers and whatnot will work, but we'll definitely update with any details we're able to find! Maybe we'll see a detailed Blizzard post on this real soon\u2122!
We'll (of course) have our PTR database updated as soon as possible to support this change. :)
News Roundup: More Complaints About the 60-80 Leveling Flow...
30/03/2011 alle 16:51
There have been some odds and ends this week and past that have deserved a news round-up, from a few hotfixes to some explanations of minor class changes that are slated to hit in patch 4.1. General news seems really slow lately, most likely because Blizzard has been busy ramping up for the Rise of the Zandalari release as well as preparing for the patch beyond that and its new raids.
Latest topics include:

UA Dispel Penalty
Clarification Requested on WoG Nerf

Intel's Short Film "When I Was An Elephant"
30/03/2011 alle 16:50
Some of you guys might remember our Gear Check back in December covering Intel's x25M Solid State Drives, where we showed off some of the mad skills these drives pack and gave you guys some insight into how they can positively expect your World of Warcraft (and general computing) experiences. They've got some new SSDs coming out and we'll hopefully get more details real soon - we might even have another contest for you guys to look forward to!
For now, our friends over at Intel have worked with the Rubbish team to release a short film titled When I Was An Elephant. It's a quirky and avant-garde piece, especially when considering it's advertising Intel's solid state drives, but it's definitely worth checking out. Let us know what you think!
Patch 4.1 Guild Challenges Detailed by Blizzard
30/03/2011 alle 13:52
Blizzard has just recently released extensive details about the new Guild Challenges that are coming with Patch 4.1. Unfortunately, they aren't as robust as many players had hoped, but there's always opportunity for an update down the line! These challenges (as we mentioned before) task players with completing dungeons, raids and rated battlegrounds in guild groups for a large guild experience and monetary reward (at the appropriate guild level \/ reputation level).
Patch 4.1 will go live with three guild challenges:
Guild Raid Challenge: Kill any Cataclysm raid boss while in a guild group. Requires at least 8 (in 10-player) or 20 (in 25-player) guild members in raid. Can be completed 1 time per week, rewards 3000000 guild experience.
Guild Dungeon Challenge: Complete any Cataclysm regular or heroic dungeon while in a guild group. Requires at least 3 guild members in party. Can be completed 7 times per week, rewards 300000 guild experience.
Guild Rated Battleground Challenge: Win a Rated Battleground while in a guild group. Requires at least 8 guild members in raid. Can be completed 3
Latest Cataclysm Hotfixes (March 25 - March 29)
30/03/2011 alle 13:37
Just a tiny batch of new hotfixes, all of which were implemented between March 25 - March 29. Maybe Blizzard is finally running out of things to fix? Yeah, right. Don't worry, 4.1 will bring a whole new mess of changes and bugfixes all too soon! Nothing too incredibly interesting today, though I'm sure it was funny how players were using
prior to the fix, and I'll definitely welcome the lack of aggressive mobs near one of the more common

Patch 4.1 - PTR Build 13812 - New Icons, Items, and Spell Changes
30/03/2011 alle 12:35
A new PTR patch has just been released! Mostly it's a lot of tooltip changes as to be expected with any patch, however, there are some notable changes for several classes. The biggest changes are for the
class. It looks like bears are finally getting some much needed love--this is fitting with the earlier blue posts this week about improving Druid AoE tanking.
There are also new items and other stuff which we will be getting up shortly in a separate post.

The Weekly Marmot - Dealing with Younger Raiders
29/03/2011 alle 13:27
This week I aim the ramble-o-tron at the topic of younger players in your guild and raids. What can be some of the disadvantages of having them around? What about advantages? And for the younger guys themselves, what can be done to "fit in"?
Blizz Blues - Ep 11 - Is Hunters OP?

Are hunters really THAT bad in low level BGs? I think we've all seen the threads, and Darnell feels that the only way to really find out is to reerrroooolllllll...
Slaughter Trolls With Blizzard and a New Ghostcrawler Blog on Interrupts
29/03/2011 alle 12:26
The developers have been talking to the community a lot lately. Today they're even playing with us: from 4PM to 6PM PDT today, you can slaughter some trolls with the developers on the PTR. Joining a Zul'Aman or Zul'Gurub instance will give you a small chance to run into a player from a guild named either or . Just make sure to act cool if you encounter them; don't link them any of your fanart of them and Thrall or demo reels of your code or anything.
If that wasn't enough, we also have another Ghostcrawler post. He's been making frequent blogs lately and they've all been worth reading--this one's no different. Talking about interrupts this time, he examines the problems with interrupts and their subsequent fixes that led to an unforeseen consequence of caster mobility and a degradation in the use of cast time spells. This has been a complaint for some time now, in both the PvE and PvP circles. It manifests by burst damage in PvP and class preference for PvE. Progression guilds have gotten many headaches over the eternal war between casters and melee, fights preferring stacked groups of either and rarely catering to both. But a
Blizzard's Third Q+A Answered, Armor and Weapons Selected for Next Topic
28/03/2011 alle 12:46
Blizzard just posted their next set of answers to the their third global Q+A session they held through the forums recently. Surprisingly, the traditionally dry and technical topic of user interfaces provided the community with what we believe are the best set of questions and answers thus far; they make for the most riveting read, at least! From big to small, questions this time around address real issues that we've been wondering--like how come the default backpack hasn't gotten an upgrade in the past six years or why isn't World of Warcraft's default UI easily rearranged like in other games?
There will be more of these sessions coming up in the near future as well. The topic of Armor and Weapons is slated to be tackled next; starting at 4PM PDT today, Blizzard will field questions from NA players. We'll have another post when those go live.
Some of the topics of the questions they were asked include:
Combat Log Improvements
Order of Characters on Select Screen
