Dropped for me today 10 minutes after server went online (the day of the patch) ;) pretty lucky... I got it from a Primal Direhorn, so guess it drops from every dinosaur in the island

Dropped off a Primal Direhorn Hatchling on Isle of the Giants for me tonight after about 100 kills. So no need to worry about killing the big direhorns, the small ones work too. :)

Just got my little one from a Primal Direhorn Hatchling, the yellow ones right near the flight path, on the Isle of Giants north of Kun-Lai Summit.

Has an interesting idle animation. Every now and then he will run a little circle around my character, kicking up dust with his little feet. He does this in both directions, clockwise and counter-clockwise.
Aside from that, he has the normal direhorn animations. He stands patiently with you, occasionally looking off to his left and nodding his head.

He is also cageable, so if you are unable to farm the Direhorns on the Isle of Giants yourself, you can check the Auction House or ask friends to sell you this pet.

Since patch 5.3 i have gotten 1909 dino bones from killing the Direhorn hatchlings. I have gotten 2 primal eggs(one had to go to waste as i could not carry any more of them) and not one direhorn runt. So either i am very unlucky or the drop rate is really low..maybe equal to the primal egg drops. Good luck anyone farming this pet.

I had collected 453 Giant Dinosaur Bones from the Direhorn Hatchlings when this little guy dropped.

Got this as a drop from the smaller ones ( with 3M hps)... after maybe 50 kills. Talking to friends, my guess is this has about a 2-4% drop chance from the small ones ( soloable). People were getting it within 10 kills, and nobody I knew who tried for it was up over 100 kills. If you have a class who can solo the hatchlings easily, this pet will not be an obstacle to get. Definitely not worth the 10-15k they are on my sever.

wowheads %s are messed up right now because they are counting all kills since before the pet was available.

+80 Kills of the Small 3m HP Direhorns = 3x Direhorn Runt drops , i'd say the drop chance is about 4-7%?

Edit: I dont think that the Big ones have a higher drop chance, If you dont need/want bones just Hunt the Little one.

Dropped for me from the Primal Direhorn (big green) doesn't seem to have big drop rate (probably same drop rate with the Primal Egg) as I farmed these for bones and egg

Got the Direhorn Runt AND Primal Egg from same mob.

Its really RNG! I have farmed about 3.5k bones and i got 3 pets and no Primal Egg!
I hope will dropp because i want to catch 200 mounts achievement!

Got mine yesterday after killing only my 4th Primal Direhorn Hatchling (I can't solo the bigger dinos) - one of the green ones to the right of the FP.

I figured the drop rate must be really high so I continued to farm for another hour in the hopes of getting a 2nd for my boyfriend, but no luck! A few of my guildies have also farmed for it with no results.
I think I just got lucky for once, cause I'm not usually remotely lucky when it comes to pet/mount drops :'3c

Nice incentive if you're still grinding the 9999 bones for the mount though!

Farmed Giant Bones for several hours over the course of two-three days, and only three of these dropped. There are none on my server's auction house so I imagine you could sell them for quite a bit of gold if they are that uncommon. Freaking adorable too.

Got mine while group was killing dinos waiting for Oondasta to be pulled, I won him with an 84, "link because of the golden rule "Screenshot or it didn't happen!" which I think is pretty lucky considering i was rolling against approximately 40+ other people XD

I've been farming bones today and yesterday, so far I'm up to 6,5k bones. Yesterday I got 5 drop (before that I've gotten 2 drops) and today I've gotten 3 drops. I kill both the big guys and the hatchlings. Mostly stay on the beach, killing the closest ones + the ones by the dinomancers past fp. So far I've not gotten a single drop from the hatchlings so it feels like the droprate is higher for the big ones.

I give away all of the pets to guildies. :)

1.3% Is the most bs I've heard. Apologize for being rude but me and my friend have been farming this aprox 4hrs today and we have gotten a total of 15 Runts... :) I believe it to be at LEAST 5% drop rate :)

I submitted screenshot to wowhead. This little guy kept running circles not letting me to take good shot =)
Probably while you will be farming 999 bones for spectral porcupette you will get this cute pet.

I've killed 96 200 Primal Direhorn Hatchlings, and still have not seen the Direhorn Runt at all.

FINALLY! After about 220 kills, I got the pet! Then, only another dozen kills to get a second one. :-/

Actually, Direhorn Runt can win solo 1x3 in pvp of three 25 lvls. Tbh, Giovane Scorticatore, Idolo Anubisath and Granchio Imperatore also can do it solo. If you interesting you can watch my video where i showed 1x3 win by one pet.

Was killing the Direhorn Hatchlings and the normal ones, cleared the whole coast almost clompletly for the second time when I got the drop off a Primal Direhorn.
Took maybe ~45minutes (552 Surv Hunter w/ Turtle)

Farmed about 2k bones tonight, got 6 of these, with the price being driven to the ground by undercutters and the quite large listing price for this item, it will eventually be easier to just vendor it than sell it on the AH.

None of the Direhorn pets, such as this one, have their models show up in the pet journal.
So it's just an empty page next to the ability list...so sad.
Please report this bug so they fix it sooner!

The drop-rate seems to be fairly high. I had been farming bones for around 9 hours and received 14.

Still dropping a lot, farmed a little over 1000 bones, some devilsaur kills in there, but maybe 800ish from direhorns, 3 runts...
