this pet's name makes me currious about it's contents...

as we all (should) know, venus is the goddess of love in roman mythology, and if MMO champion is to be trusted, this pet is related to plants:

The companion's model is actually a blue pitcher plant, not a venus fly trap.

If you stand still for about 15 seconds, Venus will bury itself in the ground with just the head sticking out, similar to the Sinister Squashling.
And that's all it does, doesn't even make a noise when you click on it.
Kinda underwhelming for collecting 400 unique pets.

Venus Doesn't get mailed it appears in your journal instantly. If it doesn't show just cast Riposo della Mascotte and it'll be there.

This is a big jump from Serviranno più guinzagli..., but pet collectors should have already had nearly 200 before the end of Cataclysm anyway.

If it doesn't appear in your journal, simply re-log or use /reload to reload your UI.

After some initial confusion, and some searching around on the internet for the information, I can confirm that if the pet does not show up in your book, it will be there either:

1) When you relog. Just log in and out of your character, OR
2) Cast Revive Battle Pets

I got both the Jade Tentacle and the Venus at the same time, so it was double confusing for me when neither of them showed up right off the bat!

There is NO mail and NO text informing you that you have acquired these pets.

This pet is a bit underwhelming compared to a lot of others. The fact that it goes almost entirely underground after being idle for a few seconds makes it almost useless as a trophy pet, unless you want an organic cup sitting on the floor. It has an entire elemental move-set, which means it's almost completely useless against critters of any quality besides poor. It should be greatly useful against just machines, if you do in fact find a machine to fight against. Machines aren't too uncommon though as they're great for killing beasts.

Has anyone else noticed that the "Sunlight" ability is bugged? It is supposed to increase the maximum health of all pets by 50%, but whenever I used it, it only increased the maximum health of the enemy pet and not mine.

I don't see this posted anywhere, so I will list the battle stats, since I know I am obsessed with pet battles and finding that perfect warrior.

Level 1 Elemental
Health: 152
Attack: 12
Speed: 11
Slot 1 Abilities:

Lash
Lashes the enemy 1-2 times, dealing 34 Elemental damage per lash.
Attacks an additional time if the user attacks first.
Effective against Mechanical, weak against Critter.

Poison Lash
Requires Pet Level: 10
Instantly deals 40 Elemental damage and deals 17 additional Elemental damage per round for 5 rounds. Effective against Mechanical, weak against Critter.

Slot 2 Abilities:

Sunlight Requires Pet Level: 2
A Solar Beam strikes all enemies, dealing 34 Elemental damage and transforms the weather into a sunny day for 9 rounds.
During a sunny day, the maximum health of all pets is increased by 50%. and healing done is increased by 25%.
Effective against Mechanical, weak against Critter.

Plant Requires Pet Level: 15
Activate: Plant your roots into the ground, absorbing nutrients. While planted your pet cannot swap.
Deactivate: For every round spent planted, you gain 40 health.
Effective against Mechanical, weak against Critter.

Slot 3 Abilities:

Stun Seed (5 Round Cooldown) Requires Pet Level: 4
Plants a seed in the enemy.
After 3 rounds, the seed blooms, causing the enemy to take 136 Elemental damage and be stunned for 1 round.
Effective against Mechanical, weak against Critter.

Leech Seed (4 Round Cooldown) Requires Pet Level: 20
Plants a seed in the target, instantly dealing 34 Elemental damage and restoring 34 health to the user. The seed lasts for 1 rounds.
Each round, the seed deals 17 Elemental damage and restores that damage as health to the user.
Effective against Mechanical, weak against Critter.

yo; is it possible to have it if u not playing hunter? is there a chance to collect 400 pets in the game?tryed hard and i have got only 260 pets soo far....have u find this easy?

Pretty underwhelming. Getting 150 took real time and effort. This is just ugly and...sad for 400 pets. Should've went with a pretty humanoid or something ala the goddess.

I truly was not expecting this. I was questing in the Grizzly Hills in Northrend and I saw the Imperial Eagle youngling and I decided I'd capture it because I believed it to be a pet I didn't have and I was successful in this. Then after the battle not only did I level up, but I gained the achievement for 400 pets owned. Because these two things happened at the same time I did not realize I had earned the achievement, and so I look at my pet menu and I see this thing, Venus. . . It honestly kind of freaked me out and so I had to go here on Wowhead to see what had happened. Really proud to have earned this achievement and the pet is really cool. Thanks, Wowhead.
