Ugh Sungrass is so hard to spot. It starts showing up a lot in Ferals but it is so hard to locate. The best thing you can do is zoom in your minimap all the way then get as close to the yellow dot as you can. If you still can't find it move your pointer all over the screen then maybe you'll locate it.

a liferoot herb that requires a skill of 150 it sparkle's much less then a herb i can currently pick like golden sansam

I've found the best place to farm this is now Thousand Needles. The highground along the south edge is great if you just go back and forth along it you can find a fair bit. There's also plenty on the highground to the east of what was the shimmering flats.

Plenty of Sungrass in Eastern Plaguelands. Leveling up to Sungrass? Plenty of herbs in Western Plaguelands.

There's a bunch of it along with life root in Splithoof Heights in thousand needles. If you haven't done any questing there you will be neutral with the Galaks. You just have to get past a few snakes by the entrance. You get there through a path in southern Dustwallow Marsh.

This is true.Tons in thousand needles in general, but there are many at Splithoof heights where the centaur are naturally neutral. If you want to do herbs while leveling here, DO NOT do the quest where you give their leader the fool's gold (Pyrite?). It turns the centaur aggressive and makes farming sungrass a little more annoying (If you are high enough level though, they shouldn't bother you too much.)

Western Plaguelands is an Herbers Paradice! about 40 mins of gathering and I have 6 stacks of Kadhgars Wisker, 2.5 stacks of Sungrass, and 2 Stacks of Liferoot!

One trip around the loop in Thousand Needles and I raised my herbalism from 230 to 270, netting 85 sungrass and 10 liferoot.

Might find more in Plaguelands but it wont be as fast. A single loop with spawn locations very close together.

A huge bump for Thousand Needles!
Just done 2 laps of that place when in queues for the Dungeon Finder, and got over 200 Sungrass.
Bunch of Stranglekelp too in the waters! As well as Liferoot!

TLDR version: SUNGRASS: Ground Mount: Eastern Plaguelands, Flying Mount: Thousand Needles.

For those looking for a quick answer on where to gather this, if you are limited to a ground mount best spot is Eastern Plaguelands (EPL) doing a loop around the map starting from Light Hopes Chapel. Personally confirmed this as I'm leveling my inscription/herbalism. In EPL I found liferoot, khadgar's whisker and of course sungrass. Lots and lots of khadgar's whisker, plenty sungrass and some liferoot. Should have come here when I was looking for khadgar when fapping about in ferals. The terrain is a lot more forgiving in EPL (ie flatter, lets massive trees, ridges etc to get stuck on!).

If you have a flying mount, from comments Thousand Needles is best. I have not personally confirmed this.

I find it goot to queue up in the dungeon finger, then go on my ground mount from light hopes chapel around the map, completing a complete circuit when i make it back to light hope's chapel. Usually half-way thru I get matched for a dungeon group, so by the time i'm finished in the dungeon the nodes would have respawned for another circuit :)

I am a casual farmer, and I started a circle around Thousand Needles at 934am and in 20 minutes (mind you I had to stop for a bit to play with the puppy, talk to the hubby, loot some liferoot... ) I netted almost 5 stacks. This was very nice for me to get with a flying mount. I would agree with the other poster about it not being so great for land mount only farming.

A lot of the nodes in the heavier populated mob areas would net the most per node, usually 2-3. Where the mobs were not so dense, the node would usually net only 1.

On a serious note, Sungrass is available in amazing quantities from Thousand Needles, and is great for levelling Alchemy and Inscription because of its abundance, and ease of aquisition (especially if you have a flying mount!)

If you head to Thousand Needles at herbalism level 230, you can also blast through levels 230 to 285 in no time! (source for that is ^&*!@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*)

Just decided to confirm for Mists; the above comment is still correct: since I am restricted to a ground mount, I found Eastern Plaguelands to be the best by far. I did catch a few while questing in Thousand Needles, but considering the entire zone is flooded now and you travel by boat, unless you have a flying mount, this area will take forever to farm.

However, if you do decide to wait until you have a flying mount, then definitely go Thousand Needles. That area is practically covered in Sungrass.

As of the latest Legion exp, anyone who has to buy this in AH is laziest player ever. With the leveling of zones, I have been trying to find somewhere that this isn't growing like a weed! Eastern Plaguelands it is every few feet, same with Badlands, Searing Gorge, Burning Steppes... Trying to lvl alchemy and Blizz could do with making more of these nodes Goldthorn which is needed in just about everything So if you are farming for Sungrass and can't find any, you are in the wrong zone!

The best place to gather Erbasole is Millepicchi.
There are some Bulbovivo there too.
