This makes an excellent dual-wield for shamans in The Burning Crusade.

Shamans get the Dual-Wield talent at lvl 40, making this axe the best epic weapon for dual-wield in low 40's. And you will probably use this baby for a long time. You could buy the Shadowblade (lvl 48 dagger) but its too expensive (200g on my server) compared to Flurry Axe (50g..).

This is a great shaman weapon, the proc can trigger Windfury and its fast speed takes advantage of Wind Furys so it goes off a lot more often.

From a fury warrior point of view this weapon has a lot of usability, even when you hit 60. While there are of course better off-hands available for lvl 60 characters, you should realize that a fury warrior generates most of it's rage from white damage.
Since the proc will trigger quite often, this item will noticeably push your rage generation. I haven't run tests to determine if the basic dps tradeoff is worth the extra rage, i just wanted to say, that this still has it's uses at lvl 60. ;-)

Having these as a Shaman in the 49 bracket is unbelievable. Although you're giving up considerable burst DPS with Kang, or Executioner's Axe, the Flurries will make it a caster's nightmare.

Throw Crusader on both, or +15Agil on the Offhand. However, WFW on MH and FlameT or FrostB on the OH. (FrostB can crit, making it a nice bit of burst)

When my warrior got to lvl42 i changed to fury and got me 2 of these with crusader on both. I used them all the way to lvl60. I never killed so fast with any char as i did with this. Most of the time i got 70k-90k exp pr hour from pure grinding.

They proc a lot, give a lot of rage all the time and are fast for heroic strike spam.

My warrior has just turned 42 and I've a pair of these I'd like to use. I'm re-speccing to Fury and am torn on what enchant to put on my axes. Mongoose is out of the question, so I'm trying decide between Crusader, +15 AGI and +15 STR, and in what combination. I'd welcome any opinions on this. Thanks in advance.

Indeed,a very fun weapon to duel-weild, I recommend it highly, especially if you decide to twink it out with Battlemaster. I have found myself soloing equal-level elites through auto-attacks before I had them enchanted.

You'll know whn it procs by a light blue aura-flash around your feet and a 'rushing' sound.

Anyway, since they're BOE I can enchant them myself. The question is, which enchants do you all think I should use? I saw someone mention Crusader / +15 Strength. What about +Agi instead? I'm still new to fury warrior-ing so I'm not entirely clear on which stats help where, I've just been stacking it like my Druid.

These are also high enough level to get the Outlands enchantments.

This is no longer a good weapon for a Shaman. It's too fast, the WF cooldown makes these weapons miss a large amount of swings which means your DPS is less than a 2.6 or slower green of similar level and lower DPS.

I have a 49 shaman dual wielding these beasts, and let me tell you... No caster within melee will ever get a cast off again. Between the 2x 1.5 speed + WF + Weapon procs...It just won't happen. It's absolutely astonishing for a shaman.

The best weapon for protection paladin until you find better with similar speed. Still using this excellent axe even I'm at lvl 63! Don't use it when you are tanking or healing in dungeons though :) It is excellent for soloing multiple melee enemies at the same time. All you need is as much light/wisdom seal procs as possible and this axe is designed for it. Higher damage and sta/int, etc. means little if you don't get enough healing from seal of light and die.

If you are Alliance, Vibro Sword (alliance quest reward) might be a good replacement for this assuming you are protection paladin and do "AoE" farming.

Does anyone know if the Flurry Axe proc can proc Windfury? I know there's a cooldown on Windfury, but I mean more like giving it a second chance to proc if it doesn't proc on your regular hit. I also know that the Windfury proc can't proc anything else, so I'm assuming no, but I'm still hoping.

Either way, I'll be damned if I let a mage in melee range cast any spell with a cast time higher than instant :oP

this is in the off-hand and Thrash Blade (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17705#comments) in the main-hand just pwns on my warrior. I think i'll keep these two for a while, either until i get to outlands or until i notice them really sucking

Despite having a cooldown, a 49 shammy with Executioner and Mongoose on them, along with Windfury can pull out some very very impressive damage. I wish I had a video of it (and I can't access the shot, on another computer), but watching a Shammy run through a 49 warlock after earthshocking. Running through, literally, just auto attacked and the entire set proc'd (Windfuryx2, both Flurries, Executioner and Mongoose), no need to stop, the entire thing just destroyed the lock and the shammy continued on into the mage who was behind the lock.... good fight, good night on that account. Rare, but possible.

So, in short, it "can" be good for a Shammy, but not all the time.

Come on people, get with it, This sucks for a DW shammy, You should know that by now, Stormstrike has a hidden cooldown, and you always want between 2.40 and 2.70 speed

Hordies might want to get Force of the Hippogryph instead, the quest chain starts in Feralas at 40. You might need someone to boost you, but other than that, it's "free" and slower (2.4s) than flurry axe with almost the same dps(34.0). Main hand only though.

Why do people rate stuff down when it's true, This is horrible for a shaman, You always want slow weapons for both MH and OH

and due to the Whirlwind change for warriors I believe warriors want a slow offhand now too, so this axe isn't really useful anymore

The best use for this item these days would be for lvling an prot paladin.

Toss a +40 spell damage, or Fiery, or Lifestealing on this and it should last you for AoE grinding until outlands.

If I'm not wrong, for calculation purposes it can be considered a very fast white weapon. For example, if the average proc rate is 25% (an extra hit every 4 "normal" hits) then the true speed of this weapon is (1.50 / 5) * 4 = 1.20 (0.86 with SoC). A 50% proc rate (every other hit gives an extra swing) would make for true weapon speed of 1.00 (0.71). A 10% proc rate would make it 1.36 (0.97) speed.

This weapon is the easily the fastest and debatably the best of easily obtained 70 aoe tankadin weapons. Save for legendary quality 1.00 Warglaves of Azzinoth, the first upgrade I'll consider is Inuuro's Blade for The Shattered Sun Offensive reputation.

I happen to have this axe on my Fury Warrior, along with Thrash Blade in my MH, and i get so many procs its not even funny, and at level 51, i think im going to keep these weapons for a while longer.

Edit: Sorry, but does anyone know if theres a hidden cooldown? i cant tell whether this procs or my thrash blade.

My brother in law bitches about it not having any stats saying im losing strength and attack power but I am saying I gain on chance an extra swing so that kinda doubles my attack.

I have this as an offhand on my 49 twink arms warrior. i am dual wielding it with a bloodrazor, both with crusader. the axe is amazing because it is really fast and since it has an extra attack proc, crusader will proc alot more.

I don't know about you guys but I've been dual wielding these babies for my Enchantment Shaman with this http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=27984 since I first got it at lvl 42 and I'm still using it even at lvl 59. You'd be surprised what kind of damage they do even at my level. Pretty reliable in both PVE & PVP.

Bought double Flurry axe for my shaman and right when I hit 42 i started using both of them and tbh doesn't rly matter if you proc a WF with your offhand, Takes my shammy like 5 sec to kill a mob with the dual WF (Enchanted with Crusader on both) so if you got the money to spend you could buy these.

i have to admit that these weapons look like a crap load of fun. 1-becuase they will be hitting like crap and if u WF both ur weapons and spam SS and LL u will hit insane amounts of times. 2- people will be buried in ur insane amount of numbers. 3-realy fast weapons r just funny to watch XD. (this is definetaly not recomended for dps because of the WF cooldown and the decrease in dps do to the low weapon dammage for instant attacks...)

This is not a bad weapon for Enhancement Shaman. This is a "bad" weapon to use with Windfury and Stormstrike. People just assume that Windfury is the only thing an Enhancement Shaman ever uses. My orc shaman uses a large variety of weapons for different situations and uses weapon switching macros in combat. There are times when you need to switch to faster weapons, and this is a good one to have, particularly as it pertains to the additional expertise an Orc gains from using axes against classes with higher dodge/parry.

Using a big, slow weapon with WF/SS is fun for one-shotting cloth but it's not always good against more defensive classes, and in fact can leave you quite vulnerable.

Yes this will be one of the best OH weapons for 49 Rogue twinks come 3.2, so like the above poster said now is the time to buy because these will soon be extremely expensive. I bought mine today for 400g which, is a bit steep admittedly, but knowing what they will cost soon I decided it was a good investment on my part. I also slapped a mongoose on it which I hope can proc off of the 2nd hit.

Using two of these on my rogue in the 49 bracket with crusader and mongoose enchant. It's very insane. People on Burning Legion are actually throwing these up on auction with mongoose and crusader enchants for around 200 gold. Either they are just wanting to get rid of them or they don't know what they are doing, lol.

If dual wielding, what if the next meele swing is swung with ur other weapon?
will the proc then do an extra swing of the swung weapon, or this weapon?
It is, ofcourse extremely less likeley it does, but if it did it could prove to be very usefull to dualwield this with a really slow 1-H.

Hey guys! I worked pretty hard to get a near-perfect Flurry Axe build for Enhancement Shaman (Since Wind Fury got a buff). All I'm missing is the Hand of Justice, but oh well. Enjoy! If you're looking to twink out a char with a Flurry Axe, this is what you could come to expect. ;D

In this day and age of heirloom gear it's hard to find weapons, even epics, that surpass account bound item stats. However every now and then on a lower level new toon, when changing over non-heirloom gear, I check out what weapons have come up; mostly out of curiosity. Today I found this one in the AH for around 600g.

Much to my surprise, it outgeared my heirloom mace! As a combat rogue at level 42 this axe bested my heirloom by 4.3DPS! There was, however, a 7 agility loss... still an unexpected dichotomy.

I just found this axe on my 48 rogue. Item level 58--level 48 requirement.
Checking the AH , 1 up that is level 58 requirement and the same damage. this a bug? seems way op to have the same item level but 10 levels lower to equip. I know about scaling but this seems broken. also the level 58 shows no durability.
