Drops from Havak (a rare elite in Kun-Lai).
When activated turns you into a stone statue of a mogu.
Cannot be used while moving, and cannot be used in combat.
Casting any spell will remove the buff prematurely.
Any approaching hostile npcs will ignore you and carry on walking as they cannot target you.
Very limited usefulness on it's own, but when coupled with Stendardo da Battaglia di Salyis has far more potential.

This is one of the few items that does still work in pvp (at least for the moment) in non-rated bg's, but you can still be hit by aoe, and a priest feared me out of the stone form.

Great against those pesky rogues in arena or when guarding something in BG. While yes, they can just wait, but, come on, how many average players will immediately recognize this and patiently wait? 99% players will try to AoE you, removing their stealth.

I just got this on my Warrior, a thing to note, it doesnt work properly. Your weapon will spike through the statue, my spear went through my knee :[

Also note worthy, any movement or abilities will shatter it.

My friend looted this earlier and I just wanted to test if I could copy it with Pozione dell'Illusione And it made me invisible with only my weapons hovering in the air. Quite a cool thing!

i noticed something that if you use this item ontop of some object the statue will be placed at the ground inside the object and you will still stand ontop of it but invisible and even your nametag disappears.

So I was transferred to a friend's realm through group invite and and while in the crossrealm I used this item and left group and was sent back to my original realm. The statue buff was gone and the only thing remaining was my floating 2h sword and I could run around as a sword lol. It was great to "stab" people I did not like

Night Elf players may use their Shadowmeld Racial in order to drop from combat and instantly use this no-combat object to become untargetable.

This works reliably in PvE and most often in PvP, although sometimes due to lag it will glitch and you will re-enter combat prior to being able to use the stone.

A single button macro for using this is as follows:
#showtooltip Shard of Archstone
/cast Shadowmeld(Racial)
/use Shard of Archstone

Conditions:

The Cooldown of both Shadowmeld and the Archstone must be up.
You must be the only one in combat with the enemy NPC, if you have any pets or party members they will remain on the threat list and you will not truly leave combat.
You must not be a part of any over-arcing events that force combat for all players within a specific zone such as specific raid bosses.

Variants on this shadowmeld macro work with almost all instant activate non-combat items. The most famous of which is the flight form macro that makes Night Elf Druids near unkillable under the proper conditions.

I made a list of gimmick items which you can use to transform your character into a different form or race or even gender to play around with. I didn't add items like weapons that provide a procc with a transform effect that only lasts a few seconds even though I know about them. My intention was to list all items with controlable transformations. Feel free to let me know if I missed an item!

the tooltip is a lie, you can still target the player if you use the /target command or click on their name in the raid frames, or use an addon that targets players when you click on their name like BattlegroundTargets, so basically you just can't target a player by clicking on them

They have nerfed the %^&* out of this. Virtually unusable in pvp. It's never ungreyed for me, even when out of combat and not taking any damage. Just junked mine for bank space.

Back before the patch that nerfed gem/chant scaling for 85, and 85 twinks were the @#$%, I used to bring my 85 twink disc priest to serpents spine and do some good ol fashioned 90 horde ganking :) (anyone who wasn't in full tyran was typically easy meat).

I abused the @#$% out of this item. If somebody I couldn't handle showed up, I would nitro boost just out of range and pop this, generally with multiple allies chasing after me. Sure, every now and then, one of them would mass fear me out, aoe me out, somethign similar, but the majority of the time, I'd have 4-5 allies milling around the statue wondering where that pesky 85 that just ganked their crafted armor buddy went XD

Ohh man, good times. Good times. Any time you can run into a bunch of the opposite faction and pop this before they have a chance to react is a good moment. Did it in goldshire once.

The closest thing to a pause button in the game, though as many have pointed out, you can still take AoE damage (which will cancel the effect) or be targeted by another player using any method other than clicking... still better than nothing for when you need to go afk for a couple minutes and can't get anywhere safe

This has interesting effects when used on cliffs, near-cliffs, statues and high pedestals, which can cause the Mogu Statue to spawn in a location far below your actual NPC (who turns invisible on use). For example, during the last Hallows Eve world event I stood on the head of the Wickerman in Undercity and used this item, which caused me to vanish and the statue appear on the ground, by the Wickerman's feet.

Using this while under the effect of Ballata del Vecchio Marinaio Senza Tempo will spawn a statue while leaving your ghostly pirate hat floating in the air where your head "should" be, moving with the normal idle animations.

I suspect Sarcofago Fittizio works very similar if not identically to this.

I used the Blackflame Daggers and was dancing before using this item and once you use the Shard of Archstone you will continue to dance. You will only be able to see the glow from the Daggers but it seems to look like the nightelf dance when you do this :).

This item lost it's toy status prior to making it to the live servers in 6.0.2. Oddly, the TCG item with an pretty much identical effect, Piedistallo della Statua Istantaneo, IS still a toy. Make sense? Not at all, but I guess Blizzard thought we were freeing up too many slots.

Some of these items might have been nerfed out of toydom due to PvP utility, which is beyond idiotic, but it's happened before. A better solution? Make them not work in PvP if you're worried about them being too powerful to make account-wide. These things are the exact definition of a toy in this game and they should be in the interface and not our inventories. It has a 30 minute cooldown for crying out loud. How devastating to PvP (or PvE) can it really be?

Update: It looks like this will be fixed in 6.2.2. It only took almost a year.

as a level 109 priest, a lvl 110 tauren decided to gank me, so i CCed him and knocked him off the edge. He died, got mad, and came after me for revenge. So, i used this item just as he charged me. He was standing in his place looking around like a fool not knowing where did i go. I honestly dont know how i managed to go "statue" without him landing a hit on me. its useful for escaping a ganker

And also, you can log off and do some gestures while you're a statue but if you move or cast a spell it'll break

Before using the shard - release your pets/summoned creatures (like elementals for mages). Or you will be targeted (and killed) after the pet. >.<
