I just looted this in southest part of Townlong stepper, it gave me 354k exp just for looting it, considering i got 10 % from guild. So normal exp would be about 320k.

Just looted one of these in Ambermarsh in Townlong Steppes, was just on the floor. Gave 691091 exp at lvl 88 (is affected by rested) - Grey quality, vendors for 105g.

Can be found in Townlong Steppes at 66.86, behind tree trunk and up against the wall. It glows as if it was a quest item so should be easy to spot.

At level 89, with rested XP and and guild experience perk I got around 850k exp. Plus it vendors for 105g so definitely worth getting.

Affected by (and consumes) rested experience. 715k with rested and the 10% guild bonus xp.

Found at 66, 86. These seem to be pretty reliable when leveling characters, because the other hidden treasure like this I know about (the lockbox by the Black Prince, idr the name) has been there every time I've looked, same as this.

Picked this guy at 66,86 in TS and netted 900k+ XP with both Well Rested and the WoW's 8th Anniversary buff on. Nice to get 1/27 of my necessary XP to 90 from just 1 right-click! And the 105g isn't too shabby either

The Falena Imprigionata nell'Ambra is located inside the container object Falena Imprigionata nell'Ambra, which may be found in Steppe di Tong Long near coordinates 65.83, 86.08. It has multiple spawn locations in the Ambermarsh (southeast of Dusklight Hollow), so you may have to look around for it.

To set a TomTom Waypoint:
/way Townlong Steppes 65.83 86.08 Amber Encased Moth

The Falena Imprigionata nell'Ambra may be sold to a vendor for 105 Gold.

This find *does count* as a "Treasure of Pandaria": It increased my count of treasures found toward Le ricchezze di Pandaria, so I assume that it also counts for Il tesoro di Pandaria, La fortuna di Pandaria and Il bottino di Pandaria.

There is a "FLAG - quest" ( FLAG - Amber Encased Moth ) for opening the Falena Imprigionata nell'Ambra, which means that you can only do it once per toon - ever.

Here's a little macro command that you can use to see if you've already opened it:
/run print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(31426))
A result of true means that you have it already, and false means you haven't opened it yet.

Has anyone looted this at a low level? Such as level 10 or below? Seems like the lowest amount gained is 600,000. Wondering what it would give to a level 1 to loot it.

Yes it IS possible to do it. Wait in the area for it to spawn, Warlock summon to it.

Has anyone found this item in another location? I have searched this spawn area multiple times and also ran the Flag on it and have yet to find this item.

I somehow got it while picking up a Volatile Orb on the quest. Looted the orb which was stuck in the ground and got the moth with it.

I have an addon that autoloots quest items.

I see this thing on the ground, thinking it's a quest Orb.
I right click it, and I let it open.
I see an item, so I start to move to the next quest Orb.
Now I notice something strange, I didn't get any loot from that Orb.
While moving my mouse pointer to click the "quest Orb" again, I see it fade away.
I look at my chat (I show experience gains in the chat), and see that I got 862,400 XP from something.
Now I know that wasn't a regular quest Orb I tried to pick up, so I make my way to Wowhead.com, to search for rare item spawns in Townlong Steppes, and I come across this, the Amber Encased Moth.
Now I decide to share my story with you, and to warn you: don't close the loot window before you loot it, because it will despawn, loot or not.

I found this today at 65.8, 86.1, in Ambermarsh (Dusklight Hollow). Looting the object gives a grey-quality Amber Encased Moth, which vendors for 105 gold. Also received credit towards the "Riches of Pandaria" achievement.
