You get this companion after getting exalted ("Best Friends") with Sho.

Each of the ten farmers will give you something for your farm. This is either cosmetical or functional.

Upon reaching ''Best Friend'' (Exalted) standing with these farmers, they will each give their own ''buff'' to your farm:

Ghi Ghi: Sheep npcs (Pecora della Fattoria)
Ella: Cat npc (Luna)
Contadino Fung: Yak npc (Shaggy)
Trota Mezza Canna: Pig npcs (Maialino)
Gina Palmo Florido: Mailbox
Haohan Palmo Florido: Mushan beast npc (Miss Fifi)
Jogu l'Ubriaco: Free advice (No longer asking gold for tips)
Vecchio Zampa Brulla: Chicken npcs (Gallina di Zampa Brulla)
Sho: Orange tree
Tina Palmo Florido: New furnishing in the house

Each of these farmers will also send you a mail containing fun or useful items. For example, Sho will send you the Grillo Rosso and Old Hillpaw sends you a Cappello di Paglia.

As of 5.0, this pet is surprisingly enormous: its body is easily as big as a smallish dog's, and its giant curly antennae make it even taller. In addition to that, it even jumps a good 6 feet in the air when running.

Edit: As of 5.1, this cricket has been reduced to standard, tiny cricket size. Boo.

Interestingly enough, the box the cricket comes out of is BoP, once you learn the pet it is not cageable and tradeable, but the actual item is (before you learn it). So you could earn the friendship with Sho on an alt, open the box and sell the pet.

I just got mine today after farming for two days for Lovely Apples. He is indeed enormous. I'm sad to say that he's only a Poor quality pet in my Pet Journal though. =(

As of now all Grillo Rossos have been hotfixed to be rare quality....
but I want my giant crickee back.

After grinding up rep with Sho, I was very surprised to find myself with a 'poor' quality pet...what with this cricket being red and all.
Blizz, I am disappoint.

~~After hearing about the new Battle-Stones I am less disappoint. But still disappoint I am.~~

~~The moral of the story: be aware that your cricket will be a random quality. It'll still be obscenely huge though.~~

I received a blue quality Red Cricket today as a result of becoming exalted with Sho. The quality of the pet is quite random, it is not always rare quality.

His beginning statistics were:

144 Life
15 Power
10 Speed

This thing is seriously enormous, at least as big as my goblin priest. When you feed him Biscotto Magico per Mascotte, he is quite literally doubt my goblin's size, and bigger than your average hunter pet. Also, I got a rare from Sho (bless her heart), which is great because I am a Tamer, and I think he'll make a fine addition to my roster! He is pretty creepy though, but if you want a lot of tells asking what is that thing?, just stand around in orgrimmar for awhile with him jumping 10 feet over everyone's heads!

I am confused. I had gotten a Rare and after learning it, it is now showing as Poor. I have put in a ticket so I hope Blizzard fixes this soon.

Seems like it's no longer this huge. Confirmation from someone else would be nice, but mine is now just about the regular companion size. Also, still not tradable and poor quality (which is random, i'm just this unlucky). Oh well, another reason to regret learning it instead of selling, which i even did by a mistake. >.>

The old grey red cricket was insanely big, bigger than most goblins even!

Guess if you get upgraded to blue quality, someone will scream nerf and take your size away.

I miss my giant fiddler :(

yet another case of blizzing hating fun. it's not THAT bad to have a pet with a unique quality that doesn't have something that looks exactly like it roaming around in the fields, really wish they'd stop taking that away.

I talked to several gm's, and they all said after the release of this pet they changed their minds , it is now bind on pick up so it is automatically soulbound, and cannot be caged, any that were before this change may still be sold or traded until they are used.

You can actully sell this one on the Auction House! I sold mine for 1.5k gold :-)

Gina Mudclaw didn't give me a mailbox, I got a farmer's journal inside my hut that lets me make this place my hearth. I'd rather have a mailbox.

For anyone wanting to know how to click Dark Soil to get Mela Appetitosa and raise reputation with Sho to get the Grillo Rosso, you need to complete up to and including Basi dell'agricoltura V: il Mercato di Mezzocolle before you can click the Dark Soils.

Lil'XT - bomb, heartbreak, zap, zap, throw an extra bomb in if you can. By the time XT dies, Stiches jr jr will just have about 600 health left.
Swap in and out carry pet.
Eternal strider - pump, pump, done.

How to Obtain This Pet In One Day - 2018-2019:

1. Be level 90+
2. Go to Halfhill in Valley of the Four Winds (In Pandaria)
2. Speak to Contadino Yoon and accept his quest "A Helping Hand" (If you have already done the questline skip to number 4)
3. Continue doing Farmer Yoon quests until you finish the following:
A Helping Hand
Learn and Grow I: Seeds
Learn and Grow II: Tilling and Planting
Learn and Grow III: Tending Crops
Learn and Grow IV: Harvesting
Learn and Grow V: Halfhill Market
4. Fly over to The Heartland in Valley of the Four Winds
5. Fly around collecting Dark Soil (dirt piles) which contain blue reputation items (Lovely Apples are worth the most rep with Sho) - Tip: If you run out of dirt piles in Valley of the Four Winds, they can be found in other Pandaria zones too, but far less condensed in one area; check Terreno Smosso for locations. If you choose to stay in The Heartland of Valley of the Four Winds, you will have to take brief breaks for the piles to respawn
6. Turn all the blue items in to Sho near Kunzen Village in Valley of the Four Winds (coords 29,30) until you reach Best Friend and she will mail you the pet. Tip: in addition to turning in rep items, do the quests she offers, as they give 3k+ rep.
