Helboars definetly can't drop this - trust me, I killed about 50 of them because I couldn't find the normal ones. The normal boars drop it however and it's a pritty high chance too so leave Helboars alone and kill the normal ones if you ever one finish this :)

Helboars do indeed drop these, and I doubt you killed 50, or you would have got one. This quest took me longer than it should have, seeing as the drop rate is supposedly 50%.

I have mobinfo that shows how many I've killed and it was 52... probably just really unlucky but in any case even if they drop the drop rate definetly isn't 50%

I got one of these from a Hellboar, and I only killed one. So, you may have just been unlucky...

The droprate of this is right out ridicoules compared to what wowhead says. So far ive had a 5% drop chance. And not a 50%. Wowhead, correct error.

Killed 40, got 2 Blasted Boar Lungs. Same with the Basilish Brain. Rather !@#$ed up if you ask me, that you go to wowhead, seeing as it says 50% you figure its a somewhat easy quest. And 3 hours later, your still grinding the same mob for some ridicoules loot that just doesnt drop. Thank god im skinner, or i would have been so outta here a looong time ago.

Zengar is right, the mobs prolly have a 50% drop rate if they drop something... Usually I get nothing so that should be the deal

Out of all the gathering quests, this has by far the worst drop rate. Most of the time the boars drop nothing.

I got all 14 Buzzard Gizzards needed before my second lung dropped.

Apparently, more cata-created vendor trash that hasn't been removed or marked as such. Although I'm unable to confirm this at the moment, I suspect all the items once needed to complete the quests once given by the two blood elves who at one time were located near the entrance to the blasted lands are now vendor trash, as the quest givers, as well as the quests, seem to be MIA!

The NPC's who collected these pre-Cata are indeed gone, they were located at a little compound at 47, 12 in the Blasted Lands. Looks like Cata made this a dead item.
