after some testing in the beta the proc seems to have a 30 seconds cooldown

Tested, internal cooldown is 20 secs. Proc on HoTs too so it does not require a cast just a heal.

After trying it out on my hpally. It indeed seems to be between 30-35 seconds. Although it's rather hard fishing the proc though as it doesn't seem to want to proc as much, took me a while to get it out after the ICD was done.

This Trink gives 478 MP5.
Regen = 1.1287 * Spirit * Meditation%
Regen = 478

Compared to 423 MP5 from Prezzo del Progresso and 398 from Fiala di Sangue di Icore, this is the superior regen trinket, at the cost of constant, reliable throughput.

Can't tell you all how happy I was to lose this (while healing as a resto shaman) to a shadow priest.

When I asked him why he needed on a healer trinket, he waited until he won the roll, and then said "Spirit is +hit".... When I said "Ah - and how does the +int proc on HEALING spells help your DPS?" he dropped group.

This is what happens when iLevel is a criteria for LFR. Not only do people suit up in PvP gear, but they take stuff that won't work for them so they can get over the bar.

There should be a mod that checks for pvp and wrong spec gear raid-wide, shows what the player's ilvl would be without those items and gives the option to kick, with pre-filled reasons for the kick comment. (i.e. healer trinket on DPS priest, +block trinket on guardian bear, STR sword on warlock, etc)

Edit: This item can be upgraded to 471 now. Everything I said before still applies, except its better than ever for resto shaman. If you're tired of running Raid Finder for Qin-xi's Polarizing Seal(476), or you already have the Seal but don't want to spend money for the darkmoon card, farm this up!

Resto shaman here. This trinket is highly undervalued for resto shaman. Many may ask what procs this? I'll give you an idea.

Riptide ticks proc it.
Earthliving ticks proc it.
Healing Rain ticks proc it.
Regular heals proc it.

I'm not sure if Ancestral Awakening procs it or not. I know the healing totems don't proc it. That being said, you are certain to proc the trinket an average of once every 35 seconds, giving you an average intellect of 967.

Now here is where things get good for shaman. The trinket has a static spirit of 847, which translates directly to 471.6mp5. However, the static value can be affected by mana tide totem(temporary spirit increases from other trinkets can not). Mana tide totem gives a 17.77% increase in mp5 if you use it on cooldown, which you should. Factoring this in, the true mana regen for yourself is 555mp5.

Now wait, it gets better! In a 10 man raid setting, you will have another healer that benefits from your mana tide. He'll recieve a mana regen buff of 84mp5. So factoring in 2 healers, the trinket has an effective 639 mp5. If you're 3 healing 10 man content, its 723 mp5.

So lets review and compare the numbers to some popular healing trinkets.

As you can see, the Empty Fruit Barrel comes in third to Qin-xi's Polarizing Seal and Relic of ChiJi, but is ahead of pretty much every other trinket. I'd say for Resto Shaman starting out, this is a must have trinket.

To be fair, it can proc from Devouring Plague - but totally agree it goes to a healer > dps.

As a DPS shadow priest I equipped this only to up my iLevel enough to get into the raids. I noticed that it does Proc on Devouring Plague; and when Vampiric Embrace is active, ALL single target damaging spell can proc it as well. It actually activates more often than I thought it would. Note: HALO does both damage and healing and therefore procs this trinket as well. All in all, not a bad placeholder, though I agree, a healer should get it first ;)

This has to be the best "blue" trinket in the game right now for Disc Priests. It's extremely undervalued.

Some considerations:
- Rapture currently procs to regen 200% of the Priest's SPR, making this a superior regen trinket than Price of Progress from Scholomance.
- If you're consistently Rapturing, let's say 3-4 Raptures per minute, the 913 SPR amount to roughly 5500-7500 additional mana per minute. From just Rapture alone.
- Then, the 913 SPR itself provides about 480 mp5, so that's roughly 6300 mana/minute.
- Consistent Raptures will more than double this trinket's regen capabilities!
- As a Human Priest, I also receive an additional +3% boost to SPR. So this is really a 940 SPR trinket for me, leading to an even wider gap between this trinket and Price of Progress's mana return.

- As others have pointed out, the 10-sec INT proc is actually rather frequent (something like 35sec CD) so this proc has great uptime.
- Currently, you're still going to want a Relic of Chi-Ji as your obvious first mana regen trinket, but this trinket holds up exceptionally well until you get a lucky purple trinket drop. But even then, I don't think this trinket lags very far behind.
- For example, if you compare this trinket's effective INT/SPR to the i496 trinket that can be purchased for 1750VP from Shieldwall/Domination, the Empty Fruit Barrel offers roughly the same SPR and a good 240 less INT. Honestly, that's a pretty small difference to be obtained from upgrading one's i471 blue trinket to an i496 purple trinket.
- Lastly, the Empty Fruit Barrel's static SPR boost will always return extra mana on your Raptures. The burst nature of the i496 Shieldwall trinket's SPR boost may prove inconsistent and somewhat detrimental.

curiously enough if you open the dungeon journal and filter this boss for holy paladin gear, this item will not show up. this is most likely a mistake by the devs. wonder if any other healing classes are also not showing this

30-second ICD as of today. Procs off nearly everything as a Resto Shaman, including Healing Rain ticks.

Did some quick number-crunching today because I was curious about Challenge Mode/Proving Ground trinkets. Now, due to the way item level downscaling works, you're going to want to avoid ppm trinkets such as Horridon's Last Gasp. For every single one of these trinkets, I added five seconds to the stated cooldown to allow for a few seconds delay in proc or in activation by the user.

The Empty Fruit Barrel is assumed to have an icd of 35sec, and remember that I added +5 for one use every ~40sec.
The Price of Progress was calculated assuming one proc every (55+5)sec and multiplying the effective mp5 by 1.77.
The Soothing Talisman was calculated assuming one use every (180+5)sec and multiplying the effective mp5 by 1.77.

Long story short, the Relic of Chi-Ji is definitely the best Challenge Mode healer trinket available. After the Relic of Chi-Ji, I would next look at the Fruit Barrel, one of the 5.0 LFR trinkets, or the Soothing Talisman trinket. All are about equal.
